Auburn doubted?
Is it just me or does it seem like Auburn is always doubted? Everywhere you turn there is people saying "Auburn is overrated", "Auburn is a one man team", or "Auburn will lose". It seems like every single year there is some reason for fans or the media to downplay Auburn's success. I can say that people have recognized Cam Newton as a superior player, yet no one thinks Auburn is a good team.
Our Auburn Tigers
With the BCS announcing that Auburn is the new number one team it got me worried. Why you may ask. Well not because the past number one teams have went down. Because every team is different. There are several reasons in which I worry about Auburn stumbling down the stretch. Read after the jump.
Kiehl Frazier
I know the season just started and it is kind of early to start talking about recruiting. However, I ran across a page talking about Auburn recruiting. Being only September commits can easily change their mind. This kid Kiehl Frazier is arguably the best dual threat quaterback coming out of high school. The future looks bright if we do land him. I just wanted everyone to see what this coaching staff is doing in recruiting, even during the season. Take a look at the video below. It has all his accomplishments and a few clips of him. Link after the jump. Sorry, couldn't get the video embedded correctly. War Eagle!
Breaking News: Meyer Not Stepping Down
Urban Meyer must be having second thoughts. Today he announced that he will not retire but instead take an indefinite leave of abscence following the bowl game. Meyer will still coach in the Sugar Bowl as planned. After his final game offensive coordinator Steve Addazio will take over as head coach until his return.
That doesn't mean he will return. Should Florida wait around on him in the future or should they have went ahead and gotten a quality head coach? Do you think he will return or be done for good?
Saban or Meyer
Due to the firing of Charlie Weis at Notre Dame they're is a coaching vacancy at a big time program. Already many names have been surfaced and two names happen to be current big time SEC coaches. Nick Saban and Urban Meyer. Meyer was one of the first names along with Cincinnati's Brian Kelly. Nick's name has since then arose on some college football forums. Even though these names are just speculations it brings up an interesting topic. Which coach would you rather see the SEC lose, Urban or Nick? Recently Nick Saban has accomplished turning Alabama into a powerhouse that they once were. Everyone should know the success that Meyer has given Florida. So vote which of these scenarios would you prefer to happen?
Wide Recievers.
does anyone know how the wide recievers rotation will look. Like who the starters will be. I'm pretty sure they are going to red shirt Tyrik Rolinson, but can anyone confirm that the school has decided on that yet? Oh, and just for fun since this isn't long enough. How many touchdown passes to rushing touchdowns do you think we will have this year? Me and some friends were having this conversation and i wanna know if i was even close to what other people were expecting. And how many touchdowns do you think we will have out of the wildcat formation?
The new coach
Well I waited a while after hearing the news to make a post. The reason i did is to let this huge dissapointment sink in until I finally realized that this is for real and it wasn't going away. I have no idea what made them want this man as the head coach. He did produce a good defense at Auburn. If I'm not mistaking though once he left Auburn he was talking bad about the school. Why would you hire someone who downgraded your school. When he got to Iowa State the first season they went 3-9.. the second season 2-10.. well if he can't improve Iowa State in a weaker confrence how will he do it at Auburn in the S.E.C. recruiting against Nick Saban right across the state. There is no way. Who do you think a high school kid would pick Nick Saban, who has won a national championship, or Gene Chizick who's best record is 3-10?. Yeah it's obvious. And how is he going to bring good assistants. O and keep an eye on Al Borges. He was supposed to be going to Iowa State to be OC. You think he would follow Gene, then Auburn would pretty much have the 2004 coaching staff back. Just a thought.
Auburn passes up on i think two great coaches that they should have been able to hire. The first and most mentioned one is Turner Gill, so i want even talk about him. I think Paul Johnson would have also worked at Auburn, He is also a very good recruiter. Which Auburn needs to compete with Alabama. Plus how do you have Steve Spurrier in town a day before Gene Chizicks name pops up. That is just crazy. And i think money is an issue thats why we got a cheap coach i mean hell we are still paying Tony Franklin and Al -borges. My main choice was Jim Grobbe from Wake Forest. He has done the most with the least. I just don't know how his recruiting would be.
I just don't get this move, what is wrong with Auburn??
Fire Jacobs, and Lowder lets start clean, Lets make Tuberville AD. Well even with this bone head move I will still be saying WAR EAGLE!!! till the day i die.
have a nice day everyone.
Mike Leach.
Mike Leach has withdrawn his name for consideration for Washington. He is probably on his way here. So either he is with texas tech or coming here. I still want Paul Johnson.
We should here something soon as for Auburn looking for him or if he is interested in us or not.
I will post something new when i hear something.
it is hard typing 75 words.. haha
The new rankings
Wow Alabama did look pretty good, but number two.. I think people are getting to confident. But here are the new poles if anyone hasn't seen them. We jumped up two. I think it should have been more. USC should have feel further also Georgia and Florida.
