DTN Bowl Pick'em Update
Whoever RED RAIDER IN SOUTH GA is, you locked it up with the 30-point pick of LSU over A&M.
I was hoping your 30 was Pitt over Kentucky or BC over Nevada so I'd stand a chance at catching up, but oh well. Congrats.
29 Ways to Fail, Starring Your Houston Texans!
I researched every Texans loss in their short history, and I've listed and detailed all of the heartbreakers. I think we'd all benefit from this getting pinned by rec's -- who doesn't love rehashing futility?

Larry Scott in Lubbock, at Jones AT&T Stadium
N228PK, from California to Oklahoma to College Station to Lubbock.
Also, I kind of followed the caravan of newsmobiles chasing a black SUV that was half-heartedly trying to lose them.
Congrats folks, welcome to the Pac 16. They don't fly to you if they aren't giving you an invitation, and they don't give invitations if they don't know you'll accept.
Here's the FlightAware page for the plane. I would have guessed it would go to Austin between CS and Lubbock, but maybe UT reps and A&M reps met in the same place?

My photos, from the stands this year unfortunately.
DTN T-Shirts Post
Instead of scrolling through the 200+ comments on the original post, we can post our graphics or ideas in this one post. The idea is this: Comment with a graphic or a link to your graphic, or post your idea for a design, and replies to those can be recs or feedback; but let's try not to start a new comment thread unless you're posting an idea. It will just help clear the clutter.
[Note by Seth C, 02/11/10 5:05 AM CST ] I'm editing here to remind everyone to please rec. the submission that you like the most and in about a week, we'll vote on the best three or four.

One-on-one with Texas Tech's Mike Singletary - College Basketball - Rivals.com
Jason King of Yahoo! Sports interviews Mike Singletary.
Cortland Finnegan punches Steve Slaton in the face. Finnegan has so much talent, it's too bad he's such a classless douchebag.
Tech Football - August 17 Practice - a set on Flickr
Photos I took at Monday night's practice. Unfortunately, cameras were for the end of practice and the scrimmage. At the end there's an in-stadium view of the northeast construction.

Fehoko's family bond is tough to match
Alex Ybarra writes a nice, long, worthwhile article on the Fehoko family.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas Tech's Gil Roberts won the men's 400M at the Texas A&M Invitational with a world-leading time of 46.17 (emphasis mine).
Roberts' time is a personal-best and breaks the school record of 46.34 set by Albert Booker in 2003. The field included 2008 Olympian Tabarie Henry and Baylor All-Americans Marcus Boyd and Quentin Summers.

In response to recruiting improvements.
[Note by Seth C, 01/08/09 4:55 PM CST ] Bumped to the front page. Tremendous work.
In response to Seth's post about recruiting getting better and better for Tech, I started to post a comment but it got really long. I just decided to make it into its own FanPost.

K.I.S.BCS.
How about this instead of either a playoff or the maintenance of the current system:
National Championship Game: BCS #1 vs. #2
Rose Bowl: #3 vs. #4
Fiesta Bowl: #5 vs. #6
Orange Bowl: #7 vs. #8
Sugar Bowl: #9 vs. #10
From that K-State game through today, Oklahoma is 4-8 against teams ranked in the top 15 of the Associated Press poll at the time. (And Stoops can thank God for Missouri, which has accounted for half his four victories.)
Five of the eight losses have come as a favorite.
Texas Tech beats East Central, 167-115
No kidding, and no link yet. What do you even need to read?
Don't worry about giving up 115. It just wasn't that important. If that starters had played the whole game, I think 200 would've been possible.
Tech scored a lot because ECU played a full press the entire game. Possessions lasted just seconds, and the accuracy of Tech's shooters tonight was impeccable.
Only Tyree Graham didn't score, going 0-4.
10 players for Tech in double digits in points.
Seriously. That just happened.

KCBD, NewsChannel 11 Lubbock |Texas Tech Researchers May Have Found AIDS Cure
Not sports related, but Texas Tech and Harvard may have found a cure/vaccine for HIV.
790 show starring Seth
All I get is a black bar, so I don't know where exactly it is, but here's the segment Seth was on with John Lopez and Ted DeLuca.
The audio drops occasionally. It includes talking with Pat Knight and Mike Leach.
Nowhere have the offensive numbers been more mind-boggling than in West Texas, where Texas Tech has led the nation in passing five of the past six years.
Tech coach Mike Leach is credited for influencing the adoption of the spread throughout the Big 12, where teams have come to adopt the motto, "If you can’t stop them, try to outscore them."
The Big XII WarBlog: South #2: Texas Tech
The Big XII WarBlog projects Tech to finish #2 in the South.
3. If you could wish one storyline on another team……it would be Texas Tech reading the script of Yellowbeard all season long, with the Red Raiders taking us all on a half-cuddle, half-rape on the way to a national championship. Mike Leach with burning hair twists would be boss, too.
Jamar Wall's game-winning interception in the final scrimmage of the season.
Red & Black Game Photos
Red & Black Spring Game pictures
I took well over 400 pictures today; these are just the 132 best.
I like the one where Hawk (86) gets hit in the side by Flannel (22).
More words? Okay.
I also like the three close-ups of Crabtree when he almost ran me over on the sideline. I like the color of them.
