Thanks to babyeater26 for catching this while I was still peacefully asleep. Howard's a solid player, but with a bit of a glut at the 2 and 3 spots, this is a curious pursuit. -Seth

Posting and Toasting Point Guard Situation

Seems like one of our biggest issues is point guard at this point. Just wanted to get a feel for what the thinking/hoping is out there.

A lot of talk about Ray Felton and Luke Ridnour seems to lead the way, but with the way the free agent market has been they may be looking at multi year deals. Do we think it is worth trying to sign a guy like this and take on another long term deal? Could we maybe slightly overpay them on a one year deal to try and entice them?

Another series of thought throws around names like Rafer Alston, Jason Williams, and Shaun Livingston around. This seems like a good way to go assuming that we would have to give Felton and Ridnour multiyear deals, as it wouldnt have a lot of financial ramifications, and like most of you im hoping toney can emerge as a key player and maybe even starter down the stretch sooner rather than later.  I feel like these cheaper more below the radar options are a nice set up for that transfer of power.

What about the trades? If Tony Parker were to want to come to New York, his expiring contract could surely be traded for, but does he want to leave and who would we have to give up to get him? Any other trade options seem realistically doable for a pg that wont kill any cap i cant think of?

As the rosterbation continues I just am curious to see what we do with regards to a pg. I can't imagine we leave it all as is and start toney, even though that doesnt sound like the end of the world to me.  Your thoughts?

After saying firmly "The Heat" as the frontrunner, he was asked point blank if the Nets or Knicks had a chance.

"Not in my mind. I'm not thinking about the Knicks or the Nets. Only when we play them," Wade said.
