Adrenaline MMA was a blast!

This was only my second ever live professional MMA event. So it was definitely my 2nd favorite..lol, it would've been just as good as the UFC if there were just a couple more names on the card. It was a very fun trip though.

We got really lucky and the hotel we stayed at just happened to be the same hotel that all the fighters were at so i got this shot of Monte Cox when we first got there. One of the main reasons i liked this show so much was that we got wicked seats 2 for $100, when i went to the UFC last year it cost that much and we were about as high up as you could go...so just being that close was great. It had a great small time feel to the event with a couple good names on the card.

I got a nice one with the voice himself, although i was embarrassed because I couldn't pronounce his last name so I called him mike.

I had no idea this was Guy Mezger at the show...I read somewhere that the guy from the show The Human Weapon was now doing commentary and I didn't want his picture, didn't know till I watched the fights at home last nite that it was Guy! dammit...

This is my favorite picture from the event, Ron Kruck is awesome, he grabbed the mic and pretended to be interviewing me, so i felt obligated to proclaim that I'm the number one contender to Brock!! lol

Sylvia pulled up to the hotel at the same time we did so I was able to get one with him...said he was going elk hunting in the morning, not with that hand!

Sherman seemed like he wasnt into it if you cant tell, but I felt bad for the guy. He was limping and looked to be in a lot of pain, so maybe im the asshole for even asking for the pic...my bad

Houston Alexander's dad was walking around...didn't know who he was most of the night, just kept wondering who the old pimp in the Tapout gear was.

Forrest Pettz gave me an autograph, even tho he had busted fingers, nice guy.

Never got an actual picture of Houston except for a couple in the cage, so this will have to do.

To me this is why I love going to live events, getting the chance to meet stars (in my eyes at least)...this sport is something I will never be able to do so I respect them all, and this is the only sport where you can meet all your favorite athletes face to face and they don't mind. I hope another event comes around my neck of the woods soon because I got that fever now!!

Lawal wants more cans to crush

Lawal put the boots to ufc veteran Mark Kerr last night in kansas city...it took him all but 25 seconds to finish the fight

he is a very impressive young prospect, and i cant wait to see king Mo step it up in competition a little bit.

Lawal performed exactly how he should have performed in a fight with someone like Kerr. Go out there, get your money, and look good doing it. The only question now is: where will Mo end up fighting next.

“I’m just trying to go where they keep me busy and treat me good,” explained Lawal following the bout. “I don’t care about any names or anything like that. I’m just trying to go where I can get paid, they treat me good and I can fight a lot.”

that quote kind of bothers me, so hes happy fighting cans forever as long as he can fight every 2 months and they will pay him well? i guess M1 would be the place for that then, i think most athletes are in this sport because of the competition/challenge....im trying not to be too hard on the guy because hes new and theres no sense in him fighting top ten compettion yet, that quote just rubbed me the wrong way. the same way that bispings quote after the chris leben fight was something to the effect of " we planned to go the distance the whole time", really???? most fighters train to finish the fight as quickly as possible, not for decisions!! well at least thats what i choose to believe.

so will Lawal be coming to the ufc soon or will he be happy fighting inferior opponents for m1? what say u?

Tim Sylvia headlines Adrenaline MMA IV against Jason Riley on Sept. 18 in Iowa

Monte Cox's Adrenaline MMA organization returns for its fourth show on Sept. 18 with a headline fight between former UFC champion Tim Sylvia (24-6) and Jason Riley (6-1).

Riley, an Ohio-based heavyweight, confirmed the fight via MySpace, though the organization has not officially announced the "Adrenaline MMA IV" event.

According a report earlier this month from The Northwest Times of Indiana, Adrenaline MMA IV takes place Sept. 18 (a day before UFC 103 in Dallas) at the Mid-America Center near Omaha, Neb., in Coucil Bluffs, Iowa, and is also likely to feature Jeremy Horn (81-19-5).

The report also stated UFC light heavyweight Houston Alexander (8-4) is expected to compete on the card. MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) spoke to a source close to the fighter and confirmed Alexander has agreed to fight on the card after receiving permission from the UFC to take an outside bout. Alexander, a popular fighter who's unfortunately suffered three straight losses, expects to return to the UFC later this year if victorious.

I'm actually excited for this card just because its going down about 2 hours from my house, so I can actually go to it. Should be able to get a few autographs at the event, and decent seats pretty cheap.
