Arrowhead Pride The only thing that bothered me about the Boldin trade not happening

Let me preface this with some things.  I am not the, "let go get every free agent out there" kind of guy.  I don't get upset when we don't sign a player I like or expect every player to want to come to KC. But, after I saw what Baltimore gave up for Boldin, I though, "ok I wouldn't have give up a 3rd & 4th for him, just the 3rd."  But then I got to thinking.  Not all draft picks are created equal.  So I looked up the handy draft value chart and did the math.  Our 3rd is worth 250 pts (draft countdown/drafttek).  Baltimore's 3rd was worth 150 and the 4th 125, but don't forget about the Cards giving up their 5th as well, 30.2 points.  Doing the math, that's 244.8 draft value points in the trade to the Cardinals.  Bottom line if we had offered the 3rd straight up to Arizona it was worth 250 draft points, the deal they got was worth 244.8 draft points.  That tells me that one of 3 things are true.  1. Pioli wasn't willing to give up the 3rd for Boldin. 2. Arizona wasn't a willing trade partner with us. 3. Arizona is rebuilding and just wants multiple picks.

Arrowhead Pride I am impressed

One thing that I thought we were going to have to get in the draft this year with the departure of LJ was a Running Back.  I was rather certain that Charles could not be a feature back.  Boy, was I wrong.  Not only has he shown the big play ability, but he's been great in short yardage. He is hitting holes and of course making those huge plays that we knew he could. I was re-watching the Cinicy game and there was a play early in the first that impressed me.  It was 3rd and 2 or 3 and it looked like he was going to get blown up in the backfield for a huge loss, and he made 3 defenders miss and came within a foot of the first down.  They threw a few encouraging stats about him up there during the game.  One was, that he is only second to Chris Johnson in ypg since week 9.  I'm not saying that he is the next Barry Sanders or is as good as Chris Johnson, but he is getting there and is one of the few pleasant surprises this year.

Welcome to Loud City I would be happy if...

1. We drafted Harden(I can't believe I am saying this) at 3

2. Drafted Patty Mills( a bit of a reach, but the next Tony Parker, IMO) or Ty Lawson with 25

OR

1. Traded w/ Minnesota for the #5 & #18 for our #3

2. Draft Harden, if available, or DeRozan(maybe) or Curry at #5, Lawson at #18, and if available Blair(don't think he'll for that far) at #25 or the Best Big available, or a Big at 18, and Ellington if available at 25

Then

Get Gortat or Anderson in free agency; this is a must.  Westbrook will get another year at the point or he is going to be a problem chemistry-wise.  If we did this, best case senario:

1. Westbrook     Harden     Durant     Green     Gortat or Anderson

2. Lawson     Sefolosha   Mason     Blair/DJ White/Collison     Krstic

Reserves -  Weaver     Livingston

That's it.  I would be happy with that lineup.

Arrowhead Pride Combine Linebackers

Guys I Liked:

1. Aaron Curry - Everything seemed fluid and effortless.  He seemed very relaxed, not nervous or hesitant.  Came away with really good times and measurables, which don't matter much to me; but the fluidity, explosiveness and precision impressed me.

2. Jasper Brinkley -  He looked like a beast today. He was much faster than I anticipated, but with his size he still moved well in the open field, and looked very under control.

3. Marcus Freeman - Looked to be a good coverage guy.   A bit on the small side, but had super-fluid movement, good speed, and nice vision.

4.Scott McKillop - Not the type that will jump out at you, but a solid performer on the field.  Had good feet and control, and good vision as well, instinctive player.

5. Mortty Ivy - Looks like another beast.  A bit on the slow side, but would be a good run-stopper at the point of attack.

Arrowhead Pride Chiefs should take a shot at KGB

With our pathetic pass rush so far this year I think we should pick up Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila.  He was a sack machine for the Packers for years, but has aged some.  Even this year he still had some speed off the edge.  I think we should at least give him a look.  Granted his run stopping capabilities are non-existent, but at least we could put him in on passing downs.  73 74 75

I personally would like KC to bring in Culpepper(which it appears according to UC's post they are), Gray(as a bakup), Andre Woodson, and Kyle Wright(he has never performed to his potential).

Which do you like and why do you like them?

Arrowhead Pride How Many excuses for McIntosh

Again 3 weeks later Herm is still making excuses for the poor RT play of McIntosh.  He said again, that he's still learning.  How much longer are we going to give this guy to "learn"?  If he doesn't have it, the heck with messing with the "continuity" of the line.  Herb has demonstrated he can play, and he unlike Sackintosh is young.  We are going with a youth movement if I am not mistaken, so why oh why haven't we done something about McIntosh.  I know we are all belly-aching about this, but I just watched the 10/8 Q&A with Herm and had to vent some in writing.

Arrowhead Pride QB Options: You Decide (and Why)

Current:

1. Start Pigpen - opps Thigpen

2. Start Huard

3. Get someone else....right now

4. Give one of the other 3 Qbs, not mentioned above a shot

Longterm:

1. Stick with Brodie, its his team, sure hope he doesn't get injured.

2a. Go out and get someone(pay with draft picks)

2b. Go out get someone (trade one of ours)

3. Get a FA at the end of the season

4. Draft a QB

5. Just pick up other teams leftovers until the end of time(if you pick five you better check the name on your drivers license and make sure it doesn't say Carl Peterson or Herm Edwards)

Arrowhead Pride Where's Will

I haven't heard anything in the past week about the injury status of Will Franklin.  We need him back sorely.  Minus his one long catch Darling is not high on my list.  And, there is a lot of pressure on Bowe right now to be the man, which I think contributed to his concentration issues (drops) last Sunday.  Franklin, I think, adds the depth we need at reciever.  Does anyone have any news on the status of WIll Franklin?
