Here is a replica of the mythical 1989 "Headress Helmet" that was supposedly being considered by the then new Carl Peterson front office.

Here's the link to the "Uni Watch" story. A nice, light, and retro read.

Not Chiefs related but outstanding none the less. Times truly have changed.

Appears the strongest piece of the Raider's run defense could be done for the season with a stress fracture.

The New York Times reports that boxes of "OchocincO's" cereal included a misprinted phone number that was intended to connect callers to a charity, Feed the Children, which will receive a portion of proceeds from cereal sales. Instead of getting the charity, however, callers dialing the printed number were sent to a sex line. (The number was printed with an "800" exchange instead of the correct "888.")

Donte Stallworth had a chance of being found innocent in a fatal 2009 car accident in Miami. He wouldn't allow it.

An excellent read from Les Carpenter of Yahoo! Sports.

This is a really cool photo gallery from CNNSI, Undrafted Hall of Fame Players. KC's Emmitt Thomas has a nice photo and write-up. But check out Marion Motley. No face-mask and cleats be damned!

Not Chiefs related, but, some of you might be stadiumphiles like me. I appreciate the architecture, technology, and acoustics that are designed for these modern day wonders. These are pretty amazing, I didn't know South Africa had it in 'em.

Non-football related question...

quick question to anyone who rides motorcycles. i currently have a norton, triumph, and a ducati, but have never ridden or owned a harley. the sportster forty-eight has grabbed my attention and was wondering if anyone had any experiences with not only harley-davidson, but something in the sportster line. do you like them, are they reliable, fun to work on, etc. thanks in advance.

Mention of ego? Check.
Obnoxious nicknames? Check.
Unnamed sources? Check.
Golf dig? Check.

Yep, it's a cookie cutter Whitlock column.

Tom Cable isn't out in Oakland, but that hasn't stopped speculation about who might replace him. The latest name out of left field: Steve Mariucci.

Just a brief KC mention, but it's funny and Mayne Street is always good for a laugh...and honestly, we all need to laugh more.

Nice article from KC Star's Kent Babb about Tamba Hali. Good "pick-me-up" during these dark days.

Yahoo's Michael Silver has an in-depth interview with Randy Hanson in regards to the events leading up to the assault by Tom Cable and the continuing fallout. Excellent read.

This guy isn't a superstar, but he's solid, works hard, and doesn't have any off the field issues or an ego that's harmful to the team. Nice score, Al.

Not really, but he isn't the "Comeback King". A fun read from the New Yotk Times via the Kansas City Star.
