As part of three-team deal, Nene goes to the Wizards, JaVale McGee to Denver and Nick Young to Clippers, sources tell Y! Sports.
Dubs trade Ellis
Not sure what to think about this deal. Bogut's a nice player, but feel like they coulda got more value out of Ellis.
Barbosa on the block?
Couldn't get the best link, but it looks like Toronto is trying to trade Barbosa. Could he be the perfect fit in Clipper nation? He is a 2
Mo Williams available
I don't know what to read into this
Mo stuff near the bottom of the article
Clippers got a rap song
kinda explicit
What the heck is gonna happen to Kaman
Now that we got Billups, it looks like we're out of the CP3 running. So what's gonna happen to Kaman? I doubt the Clips will want two center making over 10 mil splitting time. Will they run a 3 man trio of big men, DJ and Blake starting, Kaman coming off the bench? Will they trade Kaman for a backup 2 and another big men, picks maybe? What do you think is gonna happen to Kaman?
Nene interest?
I don't get this one, probably nothing though
Who would the Clips have taken with the 1st pick?Ot
With the draft coming up tomorrow and reading the SB Nation Mock Draft a question came up in my head: If the Clippers did have the 1st pick would they have selected Kyrie Irving or Derrick Williams?
Irving seems to be the consensus number one pick because of his star potential, but the Clips already have Mo and Bledsoe. Would Olshey and Co. have drafted best available or on need? Because if they drafted on need, Derrick Williams would be the obvious pick. He can play the 3, and is a physical specimen. With the glaring hole at 3, I think Williams would be the superior pick.
Who would you guys take and why?

EJ likely to sign extension...
I guess he really did have an issue with Baron...
Jared Dudley: "I know the @Bill Simmons wants Melo to go to the Clips and that's good to dream but it's not happening lol..We all hear he wants a big market. So that leaves really only the Knicks and Bulls"
Clips still lookin at Melo
It'd be interesting to see if we got Melo, if he'd fit in. Maybe we're just a third team in the process. We'll see...
Collins is back
Why'd they waive him in the first place?
Don't Fret Clips
The Clips should not be in panic right now. This start, whether you like it or not, was expected. Playing 9 perennial playoff teams in our first 9 games. 1 win was almost a good result. So we're 1-8 after a very tough stretch in our schedule, a completely new team trying to gel, injuries, and an easy part of the schedule coming up.
In our next 8 games we play Detroit, NJ, Minny, Indy, NY, NO, Sacramento, and Phoenix. This is a very crucial stretch in the season that will determine how the Clips will shape up this year. The Clips have a great chance to maybe even reach .500 after this stretch. Probably won't happen, but if the Clips want to have any kind of success this year they have to win at least 6 of these games. This stretch will show where we really stand. And if we can put a good run together in the next 8 games, it will gel the team together and give us confidence to start winning games against quality opponents. The next 8 games will be the most important part of the season for the Clips. If we win 6 like I predict, we'll be 7-10 going in to December where we'll play many playoff teams. Confidence for December's tough schedule will be vital. Let's take advantage of this easy streak Clips.
I think once this team gels, we'll be able to compete with the Utah's, San Antonio's, and Portland's of the year on a nightly basis.
Baron Playing in San Antonio
hopefully, he'll get some minutes and get the starting 5 playing together.
T-Mac to Pistons?
says it's not final, but who knows...
Clippers 2010-11 Roster Breakdown
I truly, truly believe this Clippers roster is a much, much better team then last years. This year's team has much more depth, scoring punch, and potential then last year. A lot of people on this blog are saying that this year the Clippers are essentially the same team without Marcus Camby. I honestly don't get what the big fuss about Camby is, sure he's a great rebounder and a weakside defender, but that's really all he brings to the table. He can hardly score, attracts no double teams or even defensive pressure for that matter and is a poor on-ball defender. A Clippers team starting Blake is a better team then starting Marcus. However, this is aside from the point it's time to breakdown this roster, player by player.

EJ- USA, and some point guard play.
Quotes of the article,
"I've played a lot of point guard out here with this type of talent and I think I'll be able to adapt later on," Gordon said. "I'll probably play a little more 1 this year because we don't have that many point guards so I'll adapt to doing that a little bit."
"It's got to be [a fresh start]," Gordon said. "With a new team and a new coach it's going to be very different."
From Steve:
A timely article from Dave McMenamin, given my post about Team USA yesterday. Hat tip to citizen baronycamby for posting the FanShot.
As I said yesterday, it's defense that will get EJ onto this team. I'm not sure I agree that Chauncey Billups, Derrick Rose, Rajon Rondo and Russell Westbrook should all make the team. In fact, I think that would be a big mistake. Other than Billups, none of those guys are perimeter threats (not one of them has even made 1 of 4 three pointers in their NBA careers). That's a pretty clear recipe for disaster in the international game, where they play a lot of zone and there's no defensive three second rule. Rose has supposedly worked on his shot, but is this really where we want to find out how that's going? Rondo and Westbrook are essentially the same player - you don't need both of them.
So assuming they take five guards total, I would have EJ battling with O.J. Mayo and Stephen Curry for two spots. But it sounds like the battle may be for a single spot. Which would be a mistake, but not the first one Team USA has made. EJ's advantage is that he's a better defender than Curry or Mayo. We'll see if that does it.
It's good to see that he feels good about his performance and that Colangelo had nice things to say about him. Last year he was a total non-factor. Of course, he never had any chance to make that team, but he did not have a good camp either. So hopefully this is good for his confidence.
Seems strange that he was playing point for Team USA in Vegas, when they were already awash in point guards.
New Off-Season Route
The chances Lebron James comes to L.A. are less then 5%....in other words he's probably, definitely, no way coming. But you never know. But, there's another offseason route the Clips could take this season that in my opinion builds a championship potential line-up.
Ok, so the Clips trade Kaman for Tayshaun Prince, a perfect glue guy. He can shoot the 3, defend with the best of them and crash the glass. There also making pretty much the same amount of money as Tay-Tay is cashing in just above 11MIL and Kaman's contract is only a few thousand higher. So we won't lose any cap space. Then, we sign David Lee who's an unrestricted free agent this summer who's probably gonna ask for around 7-9MIL for his contract. That leaves us without about 6 million to add some depth or even make another big move, or to resign Outlaw, Smith, and Blake. OR if we get that top 3 pick, we'll be able to sign him.
Baron- Blake
Gordon- Wesley Johnson
Prince- Trout
Griffin- Smith
Lee- Deandre
Pre-Season Expectations
It seems the mood around ClipsNation has been very somber of late. I guess that's what should be expected as the Clips haven't been winning much lately, but let's review our ACTUAL preseason expectations. There's still optimism left. I recall reading posts about how this Clipper season would be successful if we won 30-35 games. And that was WITH Blake Griffin. Well we're on pace to win about 30 and I think that's a success within itself. The Clips have definitely been more competitive this year, then last, and we've seen more inspired play from the team...especially Baron. Clipper fans should be feeling optimistic after this year, that the Clips were able to win this many games without Griffin. Playoffs were never likely this year
Who knows that can happen next year, maybe we get LeBron, maybe Wade, but the thing is we're gonna have our star rookie Blake Griffin and I think he will put this team to the next level. In order for the Clips to become a serious championship contender next year and upcoming years, I believe Kaman has to go. He still has value and we should trade him to teams that need a center, like the Bulls, Bobcats, or Mavs. I respect Kaman's stats and I know he's a big reason we even have 27 wins this season, I feel like his lazy, uninspired play is not what this Clipper team needs now. He's an unreliable player who can't finish. DeAndre Jordan should be the starting Center for the rest of the season and the future
Lebron chooses the coach?

Caron Butler for Camby?
There is a rumor going around that would bring us Caron and Washington Camby.
(I"m not very good at fanshots, but I think this post will work.)
Gerald Wallace Rebounding?
Hey, Clipper fan here. I've always been a big fan of Gerald Wallace and this year I'm very surprised at his rebounding numbers. He's like top 5 in rebounding in the league and I was just wondering if any of you guys could tell me how...
Does he play more inside, like a power forward spot?
Are most of his rebounds offensive, or does he crash the defensive boards?
Thanks. 75 words.
The Infamous 4th Quarter Collapse
The Clippers have lost now 3-4 games this season due to the infamous collapse. I've noticed that during these collapses, it's not the defense that fails, but the offense just turns abysmal. Tonight was inexcusable, after building a 20-something point lead, they lose it all and end up blowing the game. Dunleavy just looks lost out there when the going gets tough. What is the reason for these collapses? Is it Dunleavy's fault? The offense's inability to execute? A group chokejob? ...
DJ
I love this guy, I hope he gets a decent amount of PT this year...
Butler Nickname
With everyone talking about giving Blake Griffin a nickname, looks like Blake Superior is catching on, I think Mr. Butler deserves a nickname after that godly performance tonight. With his silky smooth shooting form, and nice finishes on the break, what do you guys think about RaCool. I love it, let me know what you guys think...
To get to 75 words, the Clips looked great tonight, I was there... Baron completely dominated the third quarter picking Ellis twice, diving on the floor, dropping dimes. It was a great effort, and the Clips do look like a whole new team out there, with a new energy toward defense.
Real Clippers Highlights of Last Night
These are some highlights of last night, better than the ones posted in the comments section...
What About Now?
I was recently bashed for writing about how Broxton is not our guy. I've enjoyed reading all of your posts saying everybody is "not our guy".
But it seems like maybe I was right and maybe you guys should start listening instead of bashing right away. Since my post Broxton has been in approximately 8 games. He's blown 3 saves and he had a loss tonight. Plus, I'm pretty sure he hasn't had a 1-2-3 inning that whole time.
He consistently doesn't hold on runners, Pujols stole on him tonight for god's sake. He's been wild, and people are just plain hitting him.
I've said it before, I'm gonna say it again...Broxton is not our guy. Let Sherrill close, just give him a chance. We can't lose this lead because of Broxton's lack of clutch pitching. Our division lead is down to 4 now.

Jonathan Broxton Is Not Our Guy
Jonathan Broxton is not the closer that's gonna get us to the World Series. Even with his amazing stats in the first half I still didn't trust him. He often makes his saves very interesting when they don't have to be, giving up walks and hits. Ever since Matt Stairs' homerun last year he hasn't been the same in my opinion.
The truth is finally starting to show, he's blown 2 saves in the last week or so. Luckily, we won the first blown save but yesterday we should have won and it was his fault we eventually got blown out. Now we don't have the best record in baseball anymore.
Finally, I think Torre should make Sherrill our new closer. The dude is lights out.
