Amusing, though I think it just verified what we already know.

BA Royals Top Ten (Free Version)
Just the free list. However, the top picks of the last decade is one of the most interesting pieces of data. Other than Lubanski, it is clear that KC is drafting better with the 1st pick.
Mothership throwing chum to the sharks (Eiland)
"9. Can Dave Eiland, the new pitching coach, really cut down on all those bases on balls?
For the answer on that, check the final averages next Oct. 3. The figures for 2011 weren't pleasant to look at -- the Royals' 557 walks were the most in the American League, 121 more than Seattle's AL low 436 and 61 above the league average of 496. With the roster jammed with younger pitchers, Yost believes that Eiland can solve the problem by refining their mechanics to where, if they get out of sync, they can return quickly to the proper slot, release point or other delivery component. Eiland is also charged with developing a detailed game plan for each pitcher's outing, which Yost said was lacking in the past. Youngsters like Duffy, Tim Collins and Jeremy Jeffress will be among Eiland's primary pupils."

Rany: Royals making doubles history
If Butler and Melky hit a few more, we will be in historic territory. It is a weird stat, but as Royals fans, you take your (good) history where you can get it.
Paulino might be able to keep this up
Interesting read on improved pitch selection and platoon splits since we have picked him up.
On a day after that garbage yesterday, any (good) reason for optimism is welcome
Aaron Crow almost qualifies for Type B
Melky, Frenchy, and Betemit are also close. Gordon now qualifies.
Bruce Chen looks to be our only real Type B free agent at the end of the year. That is as good of a reason as any to keep him over Francis.
Free Game Today
mlb.com has the Cubs and Royals for free, if you are not in a blackout area. I'm excited, as I get to see Duffy pitch, I think for the first time.
#Royals put RHP Sean O'Sullivan on 15-day disabled list because of right biceps tendinitis. Recalling RHP Jesse Chavez from Class AAA Omaha.
Good article on Justin Marks' Start (DeJesus Trade Chip)
A little old for the league, but it looks like he might be ready for AA soon. Not great season numbers, but look at the last couple of starts.
Free Game again today
for those of you without mlb.tv and also out of the blackout area, you will be able to watch the rubber match between the Royals and Orioles today for free. Rejoice! No work will be done this afternoon.
Free Game Tonight
According to mlb.com's front page, the Royals game will be the free MLB.TV game tonight. For those of us with the audio package, this is a welcome development.
Royals middle of the pack in Int'l FA Talent
This is a good read, though not a lot of new information. Right now, we are right in the middle of the list of international prospects in our Top 30. Given the only recent commitment to becoming a player in this area, I expect this number to increase significantly in the near future.
This ought to give you the creeps.

Poz on the New Royals
A totally enjoyable read, and I believe he captures the sentiments of many on this board, myself included.

Odds on a no-no
The perfect game Sunday by Oakland’s Dallas Braden against Tampa Bay prompted BetUs.com to post odds on the next pitcher this season to throw a no-hitter or a perfect game.
Zack Greinke is listed at 8-1 along with four other pitchers and behind seven other pitchers. The most likely is San Francisco’s Tim Lincecum at 9-2, followed by Boston’s Jon Lester and Philadelphia’s Roy Halladay at 5-1.
BetUs.com made no mention of whether the guy pitching the next no-hitter will win it.
Rany: Worst royals Bullpen Ever?
Read it, then break the exhaust from your car. This season will suck.
Podsednik dominating the MLB
After two weeks, he leads the entire MLB in batting average (.457) and on base percentage (.528). Guillen also registered in the HR list (tied for 4th). My god, what is happening to this team?

Mitch overtakes Aviles
Mitch now the batting avg. leader in the MLB for spring training, bumping Aviles to #2. Also, they are top 2 in OBP, and Mitch is #4 in SLG.
And neither is likely to play opening day...
Bizarro Royals?
"The Royals entered the day leading all 30 teams with a .313 average and all American League teams with 163 runs. That was before generating 10 more runs and 19 more hits."
I know it is only spring training, and a lot has come at the end of the games, but...
New Seiler Mock: Royals take Drew Pomeranz
Interesting pick: college lefty with really high SO rate.
I might rather see us take Cole there, but I understand the pick at this point. The LSU pitcher is also out right now, so...it's all projection
Pena is in...
can anybody guess?
Seiler on Deck McGuire
Pretty good inning-by-inning report. From the report, he comes off as a polished mid rotation starter. Low 90s velocity, but 4 average-to-plus pitches.
I'm pretty sure I've seen Royals Retro be keen on him, and it seems the Padres are as well.

4 Royals Prospects invited to Spring Training
Moose, Duffy, Lough, and D-Rob added to those already invited on the 40-man. Lough seems like the only guy that has any shot to make the roster, so what is the purpose? Foreshadowing for potential September call-ups?

Other than that, he doesn’t expect much to change, even with Cy Young being part of his title now. He dealt with a lot of this last year, with the Sports Illustrated cover and All-Star Game, so it shouldn’t all be new.
Even that extra attention he gets at the gym is a bit, well, maybe it’s best if he explains.
"No one really recognizes me," he says. "The way they do, one person recognizes me, and then they tell someone else and so eventually they all hear I play baseball. But a couple guys were calling me ‘Tim’ at the gym, because they thought I was (NL Cy Young winner) Tim Lincecum. That’s how it is."
Speculation on the Royals' third big International FA
The bullet on us is about halfway through the material. The Royals Revival writeup is pretty good, but I wanted more added from Kieth Law's speculation. Will we get Mateo, or will our farm club become the haven for defected Cuban pitchers? Any ideas or additional info?
(Purely Theoretical) Dejesus to Yankees?
Note: this is not news. It is something posted for fun in the absence of news. it has been so dead the last week, why not?
Some Yankees blogger speculating that DeJesus might be a good fit for them in left field. They don't do their homework on the Royals minor league system. So, what say you? What would need to happen to make this trade viable for both clubs? Is there a match?
Royals sign Lerud to Minor League Deal
Dutton tweeted about this last night too. Not really a big deal, but I'm getting antsy for a bigger move (please let it be Guillen!).
