CBS moved the game to 7 p.m. CST.
With the extra hours to lubricate the liver, and with this game's hype, Bryant-Denny Stadium will probably be at a new level Nov. 5.

Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting.

I'm nearly positive George Orwell was speaking of the Iron Bowl when he said this.

For the second time in six weeks, the College Gameday crew is going to be broadcasting from an Alabama game.

I take away [from the game] a tale of two cities. Great job by our guys in the second half ... That [first] half was really not a good half of football, and I really don't want the players to put it behind them. I want them to remember what it's like to not play the way you're capable of playing.

Sports Illustrated: Alabama survives Arkansas thanks to physical brand of football

Emphasis mine. For Saban to abandon his own 24-hour rule and tell his players that he doesn't want them to put the first half of the game behind them is amazing to me. It's obvious Saban was disgusted with our play in the first half.

Roll 'Bama Roll Joe Pa in Bryant-Denny Stadium

Legendary

Moments after the second quarter ended in Bryant-Denny stadium, something happened that I had never witnessed or even heard of before. The quad-jumbotrons showed Joe Paterno running off the field, and fans in stadium give him a resounding ovation. I was sitting there in the student section thinking that that had to be something rare, the coach of an opposing team being cheered for during a game. That's respect. Joe Pa really is the last legend of college football left.  Being able to have Joe Pa and Bowden in Bryant-Denny on Saturday was something remarkable, a once in a lifetime kind of event.

I took this picture last night walking home from class (hence the crappy, dark iPhone picture). The crew that set it up did some work. They had the entire set built in about an hour.

Topdaddy mentioned earlier today that the house would be discussing a college football playoff today. And the result? The house passed legislation that would attempt to force the NCAA to implement a playoff system...I'm curious to see how this turns out.

Roll 'Bama Roll A moment we should never forget....

As a student, this is a moment I'll never forget. The tears a falling, the joy is overwhelming. I've followed Alabama football my entire life, and when the opprotunity presented itself I became a student here. I have stood by my team through the thick and the thin (and lord knows we have had some down moments in the past few years). I have, as I assume we all of us have, known that we would one day find ourselves back in a position to regain our rightful spot on top of the college football world. We have had a great deal of coaches attempt to follow in the large shadow that the Bear cast over our legendary program but only one has been enough for the fan base. Saban is a legend in his own right and he is now cemented his place in bama history. Sorry for rambling but the raw emotion coursing through my body right now is overwhelming. Roll Tide. Remember this..I feel like it is a great time to be a student here at 'Bama. The tears will continue to fall. We are Alabama. We are back on top. It's an honor to say this and have it truely mean again what it once represented: "This is Alabama football."

Roll 'Bama Roll Alabama Basketball Upsets Michigan

I know we are all excited about the big win over Auburn in one of the most mind-numbingly frustratingexciting Iron Bowls I've witnessed in my 21 years, and we are all pissing ourselves in anticipation for the de facto National Championship game this weekend in Atlanta. However, I think it's important to remember that our Basketball team is playing in the Old Spice Classic, and today Alabama upset No. 15 Michigan. It was an exciting game with JaMychal Green leading the scoring for the Tide with 20. You have to be impressed with what Grant has done with this team so far even with the two losses. Hopefully they can continue to win some games and show that Alabama's athletic program is not just a one-trick pony.

Here's the Gentry Estes article on the game.

I guess the last post didn't work right so I'll try again. In case any of you remember, these two LSU students dressed as Bama fans in Baton Rouge last year for the game and this year they went a similar route wearing lsu garb and interviewing g bama fans.

Just wanted to pass along this gem since I'm in the video and my friend is the guy wearing the shitty homemade shirt saying, "Saban: he giveth, and He taketh away."

The lack of a "Friday Admission" and/or eating of gross food is disconcerting. The football gods were good to us last year. Do not forget that success isn't possible without sacrifice. Do your part Todd. Do your part.

Not a link but too short for FanPost.
