Gotta Go: Reflecting on a Bittersweet Baseball Season

While mired in a rather boring Brewers offseason, with the only (well, only significant) baseball news unfortunately being the continuing A-Rod saga, I figured that the best thing to do would be to...

Haidara Avoids Significant Injury

2

Massadio Haidara escapes both significant bone and ligament damage from Callum McManaman's dangerous tackle and could be fit to play again in early April.

Quick Bit about NUFC from Howler Radio

+

The whole podcast is worth listening to, but the bit about Newcastle supporters starts at around the 12 minute mark.

Referee Analysis of the Evans O.G.

How much was Cissé involved to cause Evans to put the ball into his own net on the 2012 Boxing Day Game at Old Trafford? Say what you want, but these guys know what they're talking about.

Just Another Alan Pardew Tribute Video?

So Graham MacAree beat us to this one, but there is a new Alan Pardew tribute video. Except it's not a typical video... Words cannot accurately describe. Just click the link.

Betting Companies' Predictions for Newcastle in 2012-13

A quick look at what the betting companies are implying about Newcastle in the upcoming 2012-13 season.

Angry 12th Man

It appears that everyone's favorite super-sub will be spending the majority of his summer on trial... James Perch has jury duty!

Yohan Cabaye's Website

Prepare a change of pants. Yohan Cabaye has launched a website, and it is so sleek.

Cissé speed-drawing

+

This guy draws a brilliant picture of Cissé on the computer in less than 10 minutes. Pure class, just like the subject of the artwork!

Rock the Vote

5

I'm not sure about you guys, but I would love to see Cissé's goal on ESPN over and over again. Soccer rarely gets any meaningful coverage by the mainstream American media, so this is a chance to show the country how great soccer can be. Vote Cissé!

Leeds 7 Southampton 0

While the goals are certainly nice, the real show starts at the 5:45 mark.

Danny Simpson quits twitter

Read the article, it's ridiculous and disgraceful what was said to Simpson.

Nile Ranger charged for Homophobic comments

3

Nile Ranger is a player who has no 1st team appearances this year. Last year, he frequently showed up late to training, and didn't put in a good effort. Today, he was charged with improper conduct by the FA for making homophobic comments on twitter.

"We need that guy who can move around out there. We lost (Mark) Kotsay off the bench, who I thought was our best pinch-hitter. We need somebody who can come off the bench and be able to do some things late in ball games." -RRR

Let's take a look back at we accomplished this season, the moments that we'll never forget. The season has been an absolute dream so far and it truly feels that like it could be paradise. The video came out right before the 3-0 triumph over Manchester United but it's only now come to my attention thanks to Taylor and Besty.

Cabaye Formally Charged by FA

+

Yohan Cabaye was charged by the FA for violent conduct due to his foot making contact with a Brighton defender's face. He'll probably be suspended a few games (I feel like two is a best case scenario). We expected it, but it doesn't mean that it won't hurt...

Alan Smith to MK Dons

+

He will go on loan to Milton Keynes until the end of the season and he is eligible to play in the League 1 playoffs should the Dons qualify (they are currently in 5th).

Demba Ba, Online

+

Not sure how old/new this is, but Demba Ba has a got a website up, and a twitter @dembabafoot. He's certainly capitalizing on his brand!

New Good Luck Photo

1

I have found our new good luck photo. It is perfect. Why, you may ask? Allow me to explain: 1. Alan Pardew. He has the look of a man on a mission. While he salutes the supporters, who appreciate the result at Old Trafford and can leave with a point, he knows there is work to be done. 2. Fabricio Coloccini. Like his manager, the captain of the squad looks contemplative. Some of his curly hairs stick to his forehead, the sweat evidence that he put 110% into his defensive duties. He embraces the goalscorer, recognizing that his goal was as vital as the hard work that his unit put in that day. 3. Demba Ba. He seems rather surprised to be embraced, as evidenced by his left arm being squished by Coloccini instead of around his back, returning the hug. He looks down, contrary to the captain and the gaffer. Maybe he is disappointed to have only scored one goal? Regardless, it is clear that he is still focused on the completed game, analyzing what happened and what could have been. 4. The out-of-focus guy in the orange jacket. He's observing the scene from a distance, with what appears to be a grin. Who is he? What does he want? Some questions are never to be answered.

Habib Beye songs: Nice little collection of catchy songs dedicated to an ex-Newcastle defender. He was the cult hero of the 2007-08 season (much like KRULL is becoming this year). We could use Habib Beye right about now!
