Before I head out on my journey thru to eat as much food as possible and then try to be invisible I just wanted to bounce off a few "things" still left exposed in the left brain cell area.

Penny has been a welcome breath of fresh air..I was pretty "non convinced" he was the answer when we brought him aboard but since have opened my mind.  To me he has really played out of his element....which has been great BUT has left little playing time for Henne which leaves us all with unanswered questions regarding how consistant he may be. I know....what we have seen of him has been great and very stabile.....but?

I say as soon as we are sure making the playoffs is not possible (if it happens) We start getting in some playing time for him..I for one am wanting to see him play more.

Next...Cam out....I am sold on Bess..I like Brandon alot..but  Wilford should at least be activated and put on the field if we want to get ANY trade value at all from him..PLUS..he is huge..we may be surprised.

Last...talking next years draft......Just wanted to get some opinions on Phan feelings...Yes we know we have to address the "D" secondary....I love and watch alot of college ball...throw me some sleepers...hidden jewels that may be late round steals or small school deals.......

 I Live in Orlando and we used to get every game including ALL preseason games telivised....ever since the Jags came to Jacksonville it has Fxxked up all our viewing...I know there are contracts but we are close to being in the middle between Miami and Jacksonville..YET we Dolphans get the vasoline with a large amount of foreskin as a mixer..I AM SO SICK OF MY GAMES NOT BEING TELIVISED..... 2 local stations were playing the SAME game Bucs & Jags.... why? Because the one channel airs all the Buc's crap and the other airs all the cat crap....any fish channel? Not anymore in "O" town!  I need a disgruntled postal worker who happens to be a Dolphan to even the score!  Anyone have any postman friends who are at the end of their rope...LOL...

Just wanted to vent...I went to 3 sports bars last night despartely seeking someone playing the Phins....only to lust for the hot door girl and take the long "their not showing it here" lonely walk back to my car...O.K. it was more like the "get my ass back to my car they are still playing it on radio" hustle..... God knows there are still alot of "O" town Phin Phans...have we lost that much respect?

 I envy those who got to see the game.........When will it play on NFL network?

 As with many Dolphans..after last season it seems that every position is an issue.

We all have our opinions on which positions we feel are key and which positions you have some personal attachment to.........As I agree with alot of posts...it is usually the same people posting...........IN YOUR OWN OPINION.....share your likes and dislikes with where we are as a team NOW...... as the season opener gets comfortably or uncomfortably closer.......

#1 Our Quarterback situation.......Not being a Chad P. fan was really because I never had to be..starting to feel more comfortable with him being a Dolphin...not really a Henne fan...like Brohm better..BUT I must admit he looked pretty impressive Saturday..I am starting to think BP may have more coaching experience than myself..LOL...

#2 Our receiver situation......Like what I saw in Ginn (I reallly want to justify such a high draft pick)..Bess fan...the man has majic hands...rooting for Hagan but he has never blown me away....the rest of the story is to be played out....not really feeling confident in our hands......TE leaves alot of gray area but also alot of upside.

#3 Our Running Back situation....Feel the best here....I REALLY like the way Ricky has come on strong..my reply to the Ronnie Brown post explains my reasons...I am a Ronnie Brown fan but I feel shaky about this season for him....You never really know how a player will mentally get over such an injury until they have at least a full season in the bag..sometimes two... Cobbs...I think he may be the sleeper we need and may just impress us more than we know this year...Parmele..will see..did well against a conference with spotty talent....we'll see if that translates to an NFL level..more often than not it doesn't....with BP drafting him you can be sure he will get more than his fair chance to make the team..my own feelings are that if BP & Co. brought them in than they have to prove they are not worthy rather than worthy...It is kinda like China scoring their own athletes...sure its fair..LOL...

#4 Our Offensive Line......still think that was a good #1 draft but I am overly eager to see him get GREAT..not just good....Liked what I saw saturday although penaltys were again a justifiing indication of how new together we are.....Depth concerns me...

#5 Our kicking game.....I must say...as much as I saw him last year Feely made me feel cofident and cutting him was a concern to me...but his mouth kinda put an exclamation mark on the deal...bad mouth the team and it gets personal...kickers do get little respect....we probably under rate them all the time...long time Phin Phans can remember ( Johnson debakle I think) when we cut a veteran for a no name  and SUCKED, SUCKED, SUCKED in the kicking game....Saturdays game made me feel alot better about Carpenter...College success does not guarantee NFL success..the pressure can wreek havoc on a "Freshmans" confidence..

#6 Special Teams..... I have real concerns here....we MUST improve all around....sadly enough...though they only account for a few plays..repeated missed tackles and poor runbacks can be the deciding factor in alot of evenly matched games....

#7 Defensive Line....I think we are on the right track....I am anxious to see the fresh faces gelling together better.....need more pressure on QB's...gonna miss JT but somehow the "Gay" dancing with the stars thing makes me feel better about him being gone for some reason...(no offense to pole smokers...I mean "Gay" as in ..happy..joyous..yeah..thats what I mean...I like nuts too..just not on my forehead)

#8 LineBackers.....I played linebacker for years...this is personal......I am concerned that Crowder is not smart enough to be the answer to the Thomas era.....Zach was really "Smart" at reading offenses...that being said he usually had 2 steps in that direction and always found himself around the ball......Linebackers are like air bags in cars..it is a comfortable feeling knowing they are there and that they work.... I am not sold at all on our LB situation....

#9 Corner Backs...We have depth...just seems like it's all at the same level....I feel fairly confident here.....although we have no "Proven" talent we match well with speed..as the league goes to taller recievers the day of the 5'9" corner back is numbered....Playing well 90% of the game may be acceptable for lineman..but NEVER for a CB....I see much room for improvment here..especially for 3rd and long when we fail to make plays and hand them a fresh set of downs..THAT PISSES ME OFF!

#10 Safety situation......Confidence level is slightly better than the Cornerback level...at least we have backups...never knew you could need so many......We will just have to see how it plays out when we play someone like NE or now maybe even the Jets (typing that hurts my fingers)Mr Broadway #4 is a gunslinger...maybe we can capitalize on that instead of getting smoked...

#11 Overall..... On a scale from 1 to 10...my own personal feelings are that we are now at a 5.5.....with a few more games in the "W" column..I say we could easily raise that a point or two just for confidence value alone......Gonna be an Interesting Season Guys.....Lets Hang on Tight and enjoy the Ride....130 without a Helmet...almost anything could be an Improvement over last years Wreck!

I just watched the Dolphins first win of 2007 and I have to say I was clapping and near tears..(20 inch biceps and I still turn into a pussy when it comes to the Dolphins)..thru all the crap that has happened since then..that win seems like years ago.... I was at a sports bar with my young daughters(easy..it was daytime and Big daddy was drinking Ice tea) and when the game went into overtime..I felt ill...I watched the Ravens drive all the way down and set up for a field goal..I felt so sick and pissed that I walked out and couldn't watch....of course I had to listen on the radio (seemed to be less painful)

 We heard Stover miss the kick and were stunned and happy..when we scored a touchdown and won the game.. we had to pull the car over in a Dunkin Doughnuts parking lot .. we were jumping up and down, hugging and crying and laughing and shouting GO DOLPHINS.....people were starring..you would have thought we won the whole damn Superbowl.....Ahhhh that was a good day...It was so nice to get that monkey off oour backs...!

Any other magic moments that day? GO PHINS!!!!!!!!!

You would think that after last year... if you buy season tickets to the Dolphins, this year they would throw in free counseling ?

 Well Crap!  I HATE losing...even in pre-season! We did a really poor job of stopping  3rd and anything....that is probably my biggest issue!  Thought Ricky looked like he was having fun again...putting that uniform on and playing under the lights recharges the soul!

Did I mention I HATE LOSING...Even in preseason! Don't need a pick me up speech..very aware of the objectives of preseason....still hate it!

 Tonight was a clear indication of how new we are together...penalty after penalty explained it without text!.....

Saw some positive stuff in a few recievers...nice catch from kircus from the circus.....Cobbs ran well.  Thought for a moment.."why did we get rid of Lorenzo Booker again"...oh yeah..no REAL good reason! Could have put him out there in 3rd down a few times.

...Hint....Dropping balls when you are a ROOKIE is bad for your future....that goes for kickoffs as well...it is still a ball...it was still live and in the air and it was still in your hands....write that hint down!

With this uneasy feeling inside not sure to grab a Beer and stay up drinking all night...or go for the Sugar Buzz and make a big bowl of Ice Cream!

I am starting to get the feeling that the new crew looks at all talent (whats left) negative unless they brought them in...SUCH MAY BE THE CASE WITH BECK....feel like he maybe getting a bad rap vs. Henne just because they did not draft him.....IS IT just ME!

Seems like Beck has been fighting an up hill battle since the new regime....Yes I like Beck..BUT I am in favor of the very best for the job.....I feel all things being equal....the benefit of the doubt would go to Henne  simply because it was their pick!

 I am only semi-excited about some of the free agent signings we have done...not because most are names that are not household names....I have been around a bit and I know alot of talent that goes rather unnoticed...I watch ALOT of college football...I am self employed and I actually set my schedule up around my college football...yea I know pretty pathetic. (I am close to being a caveman..give me sex,beer,football and Chicken wings)
 Here is my concern...we are bringing in alot of guys that are...or shall I say have been very injury prone...I agree we are getting some very cheap..well not really that cheap.....injuries run physical but linger around playing a mental unbalance on some...the real strong very confident (Ronnie Brown) type heal well. We all know that others NEVER do.  Will getting the chance to play for BP make them go outside of there comfort zone....I hope so!
Other discomfort...Letting J.Chatman go...for the price that we could have kept him at...I am covinced not keeping him was a BIG MISTAKE!
I could actually bitch more...I will..I feel like the Jets(even though they are capped) have really done well in putting some great talent together(at a price)....but to be in a Sports bar and hear J:E:T:S..blah, blah,blah...makes me want to commit a domestic battery felony.

 The pressure on this draft thing is getting to me..I find myself clicking to sportscenter all the time and reading anything I can get my hands on about the upcoming draft...I have my opinions on who we should take...but I don't want to get shocked like last year.
 You have alot of insider knowledge..I think you should pick up the phone and call Bill and ask him exactly who we are picking!...Promise him you will only tell the Dolfans....

  Just wanted to make a comment about davehowardcustom's Diary.....
 I have really been watching alot of tape on Joe Flacco...I have come to this conclusion. If he makes it to #32..considering we are on a 3 year rebuilding plan..I say he would be worth that investment. The guy is HUGE and that is where the league has been going for the last 5 years or so. Also he has alot of raw talent with a big accurate arm on short to mids..needs more work on the long accuraccy...also taking into account the teams that he has faced are not near the pressure he will feel in the NFL..That alone can make an accurate college QB look confused and inaccurate.
  Yeah it is a pretty high investment..but if he is still around at 32...it may end up being the steal of the draft...I think he has almost as much potential as Ryan.  I am also a fan of Beck's...Don't think he has had a fair shot yet. But you can never have enough insurance...especially semi-cheap insurance.
 Besides there is more nightlife on South Beach than in Delaware...He would love it..LOl..
