Cubs Announce New "Bleachers Only" Promotions
Monday games - Free t-shirt. The first one will say "PASS10N" in honor of Ronnie. Not a bad promo is you ask me. What will the t-shirts say later on in the season? I'll leave that one alone.
Tuesday games - Select beers are just $3. Al, I suggest you bring your rain parka because with college bleacher tickets going for $10, this could turn into a real vomit fest.
Wednesday games - $1 hot dogs. Bet the seagulls are psyched although it appears they prefer pizza.
I wonder what's next...buy a bleacher seat get a chance to be the 5th starter? Actually, that's not a bad idea...

Cubs Introduce "Best Buy" Ticket Package
It's pretty obvious that ticket sales are poor for many teams this year...I live in Seattle and got a Groupon for the Mariners today. $60 for a seat in a luxury box with a $10 food voucher. I don't think I've ever seen suite seats sold like that before.
Anyways, the deal is below.
The Cubs have introduced the Best Buy Pack, which includes four tickets to any April or May home game, four Vienna Beef Hot Dogs and four Bud Light, Budweiser or Pepsi fountain beverages starting at just $40. Best Buy Packs may be purchased in different sections within Wrigley Field, subject to ticket availability.
Best Buy Packs start at $40 for Upper Deck Reserved Outfield, or $48 for Upper Deck Reserved Infield during Bronze home games. Terrace Reserved Outfield or Infield Packs start at $56 and $60, respectively, while Upper Deck Box Outfield or Infield start at $84 and $108, respectively. Terrace Box Outfield and Bud Light Bleacher Best Buy Packs start at $88. Prices do not include convenience fees or City of Chicago and Cook County amusement tax.
Are $10 Bleacher Tickets Coming Back? Yup.
I know many STH were upset last year when the Cubs discounted bleacher tickets...are they possibly doing the same thing again? Maybe this is only for people who entered the contest, it's not totally clear to me in the email. Decide for yourself...
Here's the email he received:
Thank you for your submission to become the next Public Address Announcer for the Chicago Cubs! We were thrilled to have so many phenomenal and passionate auditions. Your creativity and enthusiasm made our job incredibly rewarding. We are truly fortunate to have so many great fans (and great voices). As you might imagine, it has been extremely difficult to narrow down the field to 25 candidates. While you are not one of the finalists, we would still like to see you at the Friendly Confines. As a gesture of our appreciation, we would like to extend an offer to enjoy beautiful Wrigley Field. Please be on the lookout for an email in the coming days inviting you to a game on us as well as a great ticket offer to enjoy games in the Bud Light Bleachers for $10. Again, thank you for your submission. Your passion truly inspires us. The Chicago Cubs
Where Have All of the Cubs Fans Gone? (BCB in the News!)
Interesting article that discusses the lack of interest/ number of ticket sales for this season. Even cooler is that there are several BCB mentions! I agree with pretty much everything that is written here...I know that much of it has been talked about at length already on BCB, but the subject does get everybody talking. Anyways, congrats for the mentions, Al.

Will You Renew/Become a Season Ticket Holder?
I know many of you are on the wait list. What will you do if the Cubs call during this offseason and ask for $4,000/seat to have the "privilege" of sitting through 81 games of this "baseball" in the Upper Deck? Hey, you get a free calendar and a subscription to Vine Line at least. Sure there are over 100,000 people on "the list", but how many of those are real? You could put your dog on "the list" if you wanted to...
If you are a current season ticket holder, what do the Cubs have to do to make you stay?
Knocking down prices is a great place to start, but that is not something the Cubs are likely to do. I remember in '07, they knocked off a few bucks as an "apology" for a lousy season, but with this payroll, I don't know if that's possible. Attendance around the league is way down and it seems that it will continue to be. The Cubs could have a big problem on their hands with ticket sales on all levels unless they do something that really makes people want to shell out so much money for a lousy product.
Thoughts?

Bradley Sent Home From Today's Game
Paul Sullivan is reporting that Milton Bradley had "words" with Manager Lou Piniella in the dugout during today's game and was sent home. Don't think anybody is surprised, it was just a matter of time. Every day, this team gets more disfunctional. What do we do with Bradley now? Nobody in their right mind would trade for him and now he'd disgruntled. Hendry made a major mistake with this one...among a few others (Soriano and Fukudome). With all of the injuries and the blow-ups, I'm not sure what the Cubs were expecting when they signed him to such a big contract.
Maybe when Aramis returns, Fox plays right field? Can't be any worse than Milton. And now, how will the fans at Wrigley react? This guy is a timebomb...

Should the Cubs sit Zambrano and Harden until the playoffs?
I saw last night that Zambrano would only have to miss one start because of his arm injury. And who knows what's up with Harden.

OT: A-Rod's Wife Runs Off With Lenny Kravitz
Weird, but apparently true.
Rich Hill May Be Done.
Looks like the Cubs have run out of answers.
What will it REALLY take to land Sabathia?
Seems that a lot of posters on here want CC but don't want to give anything up to get him.
Good News On Zambrano
Apparently, he only has a minor shoulder strain. No problems with the labrum or rotator cuff. That's a major relief to us all. No word on next steps but today is a great day all around! He'll miss Tuesday's start and possibly the start after that, but hopefully he'll be back on the mound soon. Buster Olney on ESPN said that he believed that he might miss at least two starts and go on the DL...but he still has some more evaluation to go. But what's really important is it doesn't seem serious.
