Clips Nation Night 2: Update
UPDATE: Just wanted to repost this. This game, as well as most of the other remaining Clipper home games, is nearing a sell out. If you plan on coming and haven't gotten tickets yet, I would advise doing it soon. Once the game is sold out, there's nothing we can do in terms of getting more tickets available for Clips Nation Night.
UPDATE II (From Steve): I just checked and there are still a few tickets left for this game. Be sure and get your tickets for Clips Nation night. These are always fun, and I'm sure this one will be great. The remaining home dates are all selling out, and there are only four more days until this game, so if you want to be there, you need to get your tickets ASAP.

Clips Nation Night 2!

Citizens of Clips Nation,
Clips Nation Night 2 is official! We will be holding the second Clips Nation Night of this season on March 26th, 2011 against the Toronto Raptors. Like the previous Clips Nation Nights, we have some fun stuff planned for the citizens of Clips Nation. Here are the details for the event:
5:15 - Check in begins at the 11th St. Entrance
5:30 - Watch the Clippers pregame warmups (until 6:15)
6:15 - Pregame reception
7:30 - Gametime!
There is a private reception room reserved prior to the game for the pregame reception. There will be a cash bar, raffles for prizes, and of course a chance meet and chat with your fellow citizens of Clips Nation - face to face like real people.
Something new that we will be doing this time around is a Clipper Trivia during the pregame reception. The trivia game will be held in teams (the tables you are sitting at), and the winning two tables will get to go down to the Clippers tunnel prior to the game. Study up on your Clipper knowledge!
The ticket prices are as follows and you can Buy Tickets Here with the password "clippers": Tickets for this game are running out fast!
$20 upper corner
$27 upper center
$34 200-level
$50 100-level loge end
$70 100-level loge end "lettered rows"
As you'll see when you purchase tickets, each ticket purchase comes with a commemorative Blake Griffin All-Star Shirt as well!
What's especially nice about doing this as a group purchase is that there are no fees.
For season ticket holders who want to attend, just email mbaker@clippers.com with your season ticket holder information in order to get access to the event. Your names will be placed on the list at the check-in table.
So buy your tickets now and hope to see everyone there!
Go Clips!

Discounted Tickets to Upcoming Home Games
All -
Citizen besaje is the Clippers intern who has been instrumental in setting up both of our Clips Nation nights at Staples Center. Clearly I fully support this promotion, which does include some terrific discounts. These games are coming up, so don't wait to act on this deal. Steve
Hey Citizens,
Each year the Clippers hold a contest for the Interns to see who can sell the most tickets to a select group of home games. The beautiful thing about the contest is the discount we get to try to sell to people. It would be nice to win this contest, but regardless, I figured I would pass on the offer to all of Clips Nation. Make sure you buy tickets through my link so I get credit for them. Also, if you have any tangible ideas for "Clips Nation Night III" feel free to add a comment.

What ever happened to Clipper optimism?
Sure, it was a close game until the 4th, but how can you not be happy with a win against a team that had won 8 of its last 10. Not to mention it was pretty much the same team (minus Steve Blake) that beat us two games ago. Yeah there were negatives in the game, but I thought this game was a huge step in the right direction for the team. I've been pretty critical of Dunleavy's coaching, but I thought he did a great job and made some solid adjustments at halftime. Maybe Clipsnations expectations are higher than the Clips are performing so far this year, but the fact that the Clips turned the ball over 20 times and still won this game easily in the 4th, shows that they're finding ways to win games. Kaman continues to dominate and it was nice to see him have a 9-13 night. Besides the turnovers, BD played a solid game. Gordon played well, and Camby continues to be a work horse day after day. And the bench played well, pretty much without Al Thornton! I know some people are with me, but why all the negativity? We're 15-18, 4 wins away from our total from last season and it's the beginning of January! Blake's nearing a return (whenever the "6 week" injury is over), the team is continuing to mesh and look better playing together on the court, and they've won 3 of 4 (4 in a row at home). Bottom line is that we're not going to win a championship this year, most likely will have a tough time getting in the playoffs, but there are a lot of positives in Clipperland. Heck, the players seem to have confidence, why don't we?

Injury Updates
From Ramona:
Marcus Camby (bruised heel) will be listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Jazz, while Baron Davis is doubtful. Davis (bruised hip) did not travel with the team to Utah and did not practice on Sunday, but did rehab work on the side and is said to be improving daily.
If I were guessing, I'd say both are in the lineup Wednesday versus the Lakers. Camby has a chance of playing Monday, but don't expect much since he's been out for so long.
------------------------
At this point, I'd rather Camby not play tomorrow and be completely healthy for a solid return, rather than trying to play to early. As frustrated as it has been the first couple of games, remember that we are only three games into the season, and that there is a lot of time to pick it up. The 2006-2007 Phoenix Suns went 1-5 to start out the year and ended up 61-21. It's easy to point fingers at people while the team is losing, and I definitely agree that Gordon should be playing more and Dunleavy hasn't exactly done a great job so far, but it sounds like we will be getting everyone back sometime this week and we will be able to see what this team is really capable of. As for now, lets hope we can pull out a win tomorrow night, and have a little momentum going into the Lakers.
Another Win
I'm a daily reader of this site, a huge Clipper fan, and after watching the game tonight (courtesy of NBA League Pass free preview) I decided to get into the posting action. Without Camby, BD, and Thomas (+ Skinner), the Clips were able to overcome a 17 point defecit in the 3rd quarter and improve to 3-0 on the preseason. A couple of really nice things I saw in this game...Eric Gordon is the real deal. He was hitting threes from a couple of feet beyond the three point line, and caught fire in the 4th. He finished the game with 33 points (6-11 from 3). Mike Taylor had another solid game and is one of the most athletic players I've ever seen. He had 21 points and 9 assists, and is looking like a great steal in the second round. Mobley rebounded nicely after last nights 2-13 and went 6-11 from the field with 17 points. Paul Davis looked extremely mobile and had 11 pts and 8 boards in just under 20 minutes. Ricky Davis was okay, hit two nice shots, didn't do anything wrong but didn't particularly impress me. Kaman continued to struggle and was 0-6 from the field which isn't good news. He didn't get very many touches down low and didn't seem to get comfortable on offense. Overall, I'm really excited for this upcoming season and can't wait to see our full roster in action. It was nice to see our second / third unit players meshing well together and score 36 points in the fourth quarter. Can't wait until October 29, opening night against the Lakers. 2 weeks!
