welker injured...beyond this season

So Wes Welker is my favorite player. He has nearly redefined the slot position and every team seems to be looking for the next Welker. I was more than disappointed watching todays game. I nearly immediately had the feeling he tore a ACL ... it just happens that MCL is usually torn with it. ANYWAYS. Brady tore it last year in the first game. Welker tore it in the last game of the reg season. I'm worried that Welker will not be ready for any of next season. I remember Brady was uncertain for this beginning of the season. I was wondering what anyone else thought about him playing next year. Let me be brutally honest for anyone who thinks otherwise. Edleman is not the same as welker. Routes, footwork, agility and timing are all something exclusive to welker, Edleman and Welker are just play with a similar style. Aiken Edleman Stanback and Tate are NOT a legit way to start the season next year. Moss and ____ with _____. Fill in the blank. How does the season start. Drafting seems to be the most likely way. I dont foresee a trade.

How do people forsee welker being replaced for the majority of next season?

pats back to underdogs?

alright fans i've never seen such an over reaction to one single game in quite some time. this isnt college football where you must go undefeated. afterall this is the first game of the season there is bound to be some rust.
we absolutely shut down bills WR's. whos the real 81 now TO? lee evans anybody? a couple iffy calls (wilforks and A-Trains) sacks really set back our defense. if we had made that one extra field goal and brady didnt throw a pick 6 and those 2 calls came out differently (or at least wilforks), i have a feeling people would have a feel that we really played a decent game. we owned every statistical category except points off turnovers and 4th down conversions.
i will also point out that galloway is anything but effective thus far, and welker and moss had absolutely no ability to catch the ball early in the game.
so for all these critics and fans flipping out, remember in the '07 16-0 season we had close come-from-behind victories and no one said "o those pats are declining". i think we are better than we have been in a while and especially for the future with many young players. (and arguably our best defender Mayo is done for 1/2 the season)
