Dirk out at least 2 weeks.

Two weeks at the least is the current estimate:

Tragic if you're a dallas fan, if the mavericks respond badly this could be the warriors chances of staying in the playoffs. 1.5 games ahead of denver, with 2 games against the lakers coming up, plus denver has the grizzles tomorrow, they might have a better record than us once tuesday rolls along.

Gerald Green waived.

http://www.nba.com/nba_news/rockets_mikeharris_080308.html

It's hard to imagine that a couple years back I was angry when the warriors drafted diogi rather than Green, but here we are and now he's been cut by the rockets. What a shocking move, how does the gsom community feel about possibly signing the kid? Maybe this is a system in which he might flourish, I know with pietrus and probably barnes leaving next season, our depth at the guard position might be a little bit weaker than expected, especially if bellinelli doesn't pan out. So how about giving this green kid a chance?

Dirk suspended.

He will be suspended one game, a game against the Houston Rockets. Either way this is going to be a good thing for our beloved warriors, let's see if they can capitolize on this and catch up a game with one of these teams. These next two wins I consider must wins if we are going to advance our seedings to 7 or 6. We just can't afford not to leapfrog one of these teams in front of us when our opposition are the bobcats and the miami heat.

Baron Davis all star snub.

david west over baron davis? hell, yao ming and allen iverson over baron davis? whatever. this is going to be a blessing in disguise, watch how the warriors play now, nothing could feed their mentality better.... but damn, it's pretty painful that david west is deemed by the coaches to be a better fit for the all star game than baron davis. i mean the logic they're using of course is that west is a major contributor on a better team, but really now, are the hornets one of the best teams in basketball because of david west, or mainly be cause of chris paul? and too bad for marcus camby as well.

Raptors 1st pick of the 2006 Draft

do any of you ever wonder how painful it would have been if we were in the raptors position a couple years ago? we have the 1st pick in the draft, but all of a sudden hs players have to spend a year in college, so instead of having a front court of bosh and oden, you get one with andrea and bosh. i personally would be irate at this point, imagine what those two could do together. especially considering oden isnt the type of project that might not make it in the nba,and hence should take a year of college as a backup plan. the rules weren't made because of talents like him.

kelenna

when stephen jackson comes back i think kelenna will be ideal off the bench. he's not going to replace  jrich, watching him play the one thing he really brings to the table is scoring, but he also has a one track mind. the first and 2nd option in his head as soon as he gets the ball is how to do find a way to score? and i think with majority of the players you see comprising the starting lineup, that doesn't mesh well with how they work. i dont know how popular this idea will be with the rest of you guys, but why d ont we just start matt barnes at the 3? Then we'd have bdave and jackson starting in the backcourt, with matt and harrington at the forward spots and of course al biedrins starting at center. jackson and barnes represent everything positive with warriors basketball, as they make their teammates better on the floor, and give them that helter skelter style defense with steals and double teams and even key blocked shots . matt barnes also has a nose for the ball and will get huge offensive and defensive rebounds. we'd have kelenna coming off the bench with one specific role in mind, he'd be like the microwave. all of a sudden our team gets a lot more than 1 player deep because we have kelenna, monta and pietrus as solid backups capable of at least 30 minutes of production each. if austin croshere can be any type of presence and brandan wright develops as much as his teammates are saying he will be, we might even have a little bit of depth in the front court!

some good news regarding brandan wright

I just thought with the way the team is going and the lack of playing time wright has been recieving, that this would cheer some people up regarding his near (hopefully immediate) future with the team.

Warriors' Wright begins to open some eyes

Rookie forward is making a push to get some playing time

OAKLAND -- The national consensus after this summer's NBA draft was that the Warriors traded away the present, in the form of proven scorer Jason Richardson, for the future, represented by an undeveloped 19-year-old power forward who still wore braces.
Brandan Wright still has his orthodontia in place. But he's making significant strides in his quest to make the future happen now.

Wright, who turned 20 on Oct. 5, has been getting more and more work with first-team Warriors in the 10 days since he returned from a back injury. During the Warriors' last two practices, coach Don Nelson has made a point of playing Wright together with swingman Stephen Jackson to get the Warriors' second-best player used to working with the rookie.
