As if we didn't already know that.

As if we didn't already know that.

H/T to the outstanding ISU blog Wide Right Natty Light. This news is a few days old but I hadn't seen it discussed on either of the Texas sites I read. The Tulsa World acquired emails to and from Oklahoma's athletic director and president relating to the most recent conference realignment saga.

Dan Beebe, the supposed president of the conference? He was not exactly "in the loop". Beebe forwarded an article written by Chip Brown for Orangebloods about Oklahoma's application to the Pac-12 to Oklahoma AD Joe Castiglione, writing:

Joe:

Please call me about this ASAP.

Dan

So Beebe found out conference realignment news the way the rest of us did: when Bellmont wanted something known by the general public they fed it to Chip Brown, who in turn wrote about it for Orangebloods. Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't you think that the Big-12 president would be a little more clued in about what Texas and Oklahoma were doing? But obviously no one at Texas or Oklahoma bothered to keep Beebe up to date.

Beebe also wrote the following to Bowen Loften and Dollar Bill in reference to this none-too-profound article about the Aggies moving to the SEC :

Bowen and Bill:

Of course, my forwarding of the article below is self-serving as I want to submit all
arguments possible for you to stay in the Big 12. This writer outlines what I think are critical
positions for you to consider.

Dan

I'm shocked, shocked! that this didn't change the Aggies' minds.

Dallas Skyline WR Mike Davis has switched his commitment from Swamp Aggie to Texas. This might mean no Darius White for the 'Horns, but this is nevertheless a big get for Texas. Davis is ranked as the 129th best player and 25th best WR by Rivals and the 55th best player and 10th best WR by ESPN. Davis isn't a freak athlete like Darius White, but he has been a tremendous playmaker while in HS. His game has been compared to Shipley's by cognoscenti.
