What is the exact location of the erupption zone?
I've always been curious of this, but what is the exact section number of the erupption zone? I'm mainly curious because I'm looking at some tickets online, and lord knows my back doesn't want to be standing up for several hours. Also, this would be my first Kentucky game at Rupp Arena and I'm curious about nice places to eat that I could take my lady friend to that are within walking distance of Rupp.
Best Seats for Fireworks Friday
I'm planning on going to the June 11th game against the Royals, which happens to be a Fireworks Friday game. What are generally the best sections to sit in for the best view of the post game fireworks spectacle? Also, what are generally the best places pre-game and post-game that are within walking distance for a meal or adult beverage? And since I need 12 more words to get this to post, Go Red Legs!
Buster Olney on ESPNews said Torre likely done...
But that's not why I write this, as I think we all think that will be the case in New York. Rather, it was the fact that Buster Olney said that he feels that Torre doesn't want to retire, and being that his wife is originally from Cincinnati, the Reds are a possibility.
Now granted, I would put this up there with rumors that hold no water, but how would you guys feel about Joe Torre managing the Redlegs?
Help me pick a new Reds jersey...
I'm going to the Reds game May 5th against the Rockies, and I looking to get a new authentic jersey. The only other authentic I own is a #30 Griffey jersey that I got when he was first traded to the Reds.
So, help me decide which player to get, and then make a note as far as if I should get the white home jersey, the gray road jersey, or the red alternate jersey.
Predict the NL Cy Young Winner
I would post a poll as well for the AL, but I think it's pretty much a for gone conclusion that Johan Santana is going to be the AL Cy Young winner.
The NL however, is a much closer race. It's shame to think what might've been, as Bronson Arroyo was a Cy Young lock in the first half of the season, and then Harang got some Cy Young consideration till his meltdown in September.
So, who is the NL Cy Young winner for 2006?
It's official, my new nickname for Dunn is Jobu.
I subscribe to ESPN Insider, and I was looking at Dunn's player card and came across this gem of a stat....
Fastballs: .302 AVG
Change Ups: .261 AVG
Curves: .180 AVG
Sliders: .141 AVG
Other: .053 AVG
I'll give him credit, he doesn't chase as many pitches as Griffey (whose prone to chasing high pitches and low pitches), but he swings and misses at more in the strike zone.
Farney makes it to ESPN the Mag
Here's what was in the Oddities section this week...
Odds on what else Ryan Freel's imaginary pal, Farney, says to the Reds outfielder:
400 to 1: "Give me the keys - I'm driving."
4 to 1: "Can you get me Arroyo's autograph?"
Even: "You know you're nuts, right?"
Odds on why Michelle Wie fired her caddie:
120 to 1: He simply refused to learn how to use a foot wedge.
15 to 1: He never won anything.
3 to 1: Farney needs a job.
Odds on why Maurice Clarett wore a bulletproof vest and had four guns in his car:
60 to 1: Dick Cheney called to go hunting.
9 to 1: He wanted a tryout with the Bengals.
2 to 1: Farney made him do it.
Random End of Season prediction...
In a one game playoff for the NL Wild Card, the Reds will lose to the Arizona Diamondbacks after Jerry Narron decides that with 2 outs, he'll have Scott Hatteberg sac bunt Freel over to second. Narron is given a lifetime contract with the Reds after the game, while Leatherpants Vampire calls up WayneK for offseason trade discussions.
