Forget about this 2010 nonsense
We should be gearing up to make Mr. Kevin Durant our man in 2011. Imagine pairing him up with Blake, DJ, EJ, and filler with AT off the bench. That would be some team. In all honesty, I doubt we have a shot at Lebron, and why would we want Bosh or Wade when we have our studs at their positions. I guess we could go after a wing like Joe Johnson, but Kevin is the same age as EJ and BG. Thoughts?
Mr Dunleavy, can I please make a request!
This is strategy for game play.
Mr Dunleavy, if you allow me to make a suggestion. At least one time this season can you start the following players? (given they are still with the team)
Pg Baron
Sg EJ
Sf Mardy
Pf Zack
C Kaman/Camby
The strategy is not with the starters but with the reserves. At exactly 6minutes into the game, you pull all of your starters except Gordon and you replace with the following:
Pg Mike Taylor
Sg EJ/ or Fred Jone (depending on fatigue)
Sf Al
Pf Blake
C DJ
I feel this unit will run any other team in the league out of the building. I think we would be up 10 points at the least. The main part of the strategy is you must put in all of the reserves at once so you optimize their conditioning against the opposing teams starters/reserves.
Thoughts?
Has anyone heard any news with ZBO?
Id like to know what he's up to for the summer. Unlike most people in clipper nation, I enjoy watching Zach bring it on the court. It would be really cool if he were in the gym with DJ and Baron working on his game with the team. Kaman, along with Zack should be a great tandem if they had the work ethics of the new kid on the block. BLAKE!
ZBO is going to have a good season for us.
Today is the start of the biggest turn around in sports history.
its a great day to be a clippers fan. we are getting the number 1 pick, arent losing any key free agents, and perhaps we can pick up a wing through free agency. why not let blake griffin come off the bench for zbo and thornton? i can see him strong enuff to guard the 4, and athletic enuff to run with the 3's. lets keep camby and kaman, and if one of those guys go down, we have another young big hungry for playing time with dj. baron is thrilled, we have a 2 potential superstars with ej and bg. its a GREAT TIME to be a clippers fan.
next seasons lineup
pg- Baron Davis
sg- EJ
sf- AT
pf- 1st round pick Blake Griffin
c- Chris Kaman
6th men-Zack Randolph, Marcus Camby
Im beginning to think you need a major league baseball mentality when you approach the season. You have your studs who play majority of minutes and you have your utility players who provide depth and give your studs a day off.
ricky davis, mardy collins, fred jones, steve novak- perfect utility players
then you have your potential stars like DJ and Mike Taylor
Lets Be Honest
how terible is this team? Is this a team that does have tremendous upside but being so frustrated as a fan with current events, doesnt see it this way?
The way I see it:
pg: Baron Davis solid point, needs the spotlight away from dunleavy
Mike Taylor very raw but could be great if developed solid jump shot and worked on passing/team chemistry
Mardy Collins solid role player, can play many positions
sg: Eric Gordon Dunleavy/Baylors greatest pick
Fred Jones solid role player
Ricky Davis although seems like a cancer, plays well when given specific task, running the point or coming off the bench for needed points
sf: Al Thornton very athletic, needs to work on D!
Steve Novak lights out shooter, too slow for sf, deffinately needs to bulk up to play pf
pf: Zack Randolph great rebounder, great scorer, needs to hit the weight room/ shed some weight
Brian Skinner: solid depth to team
c: Chris Kaman 26 yo very skilled at position lacking quality big men
Marcus Camby solid vet leadership, wants to be here
Deandre Jordan 20 yo beast could be the steal of all drafts
If i had my way, i'd convince DTS to hire Sam Cassell as next years coach and keep dunleavy as GM
