wildcat formation - cowboys style
all the cowboys news is completely depressing...so for fun i was thinking, what if the cowboys were to run a wildcat formation? who would receive the direct snap, and who would be the the wingback that cuts across the backfield?
crayton is the obvious choice to receive the direct snap, as he's a starter and former quarterback, and i would trust him to run the offense. but i think he might be a little small to try and run out of the formation. so what about stanback? he's a former qb too, and much bigger and faster (although i think crayton is quicker) and can explode through the line.
felix would be perfect for the wingback (as that is what he played at arkansas) but he's out for several weeks. who would you put in, crayton/stanback, austin, t.o? what about tashard or even scandrick?
given that the offense is hobbled for a few weeks, do you expect to see us actually try this?

Special Teams Contributors - Scandrick edition
From Todd Archer's blog:
"Orlando Scandrick blocked seven kicks in his career at Boise State. We saw why on Saturday. During a punt-rush drill he sped around the corner and practically beat the ball to punter Mat McBriar. It was an amazing burst of speed."
As noted lower in the comments there, we haven't had much of a punt blocking threat since Isaac Holt (we aquired him in the Walker trade, I believe).
Even though we lost some good special teams players, we have enough young, athletic talent, I expect us to make some big plays on special teams.
