Damn....I don't know what to say. I know Neise is signed longer and cheap, but if we extended Dickey to the same deal as Neise. I don't know....

JT Miller contract idea

Maybe Sather could come to an agreement with JT Miller buying out his ELC contract for a 3 year deal. This season and next seasons pay just above his ELC slot and the third season pay double what he would make if we kept him on ELC.

It's a win-win for both sides; Rangers get to keep JT up. JT gets to stay up this season, and slightly more pay than he would make on his current contract. If he is cautious of signing the contract Sather could just threaten to send him down to Whale for the remainder of the season and keep him on his current ELC without the slide. The contract would be extremely affordable and at the age of 22-23 he would be in line to be a UFA, which is his current standing if the contract doesn’t slide.

Thoughts? Is it even allowed in the new CBA?

Figuring an 82 game season is probably lost, made me think on the benefits of a 66 game season and a December start date.

1) Less games without Gaborik

2)Return of the Sauer?

3) Less chances to get injured

4)Less wear on Henri, unless they bunch games together

Even in the NBA this worked out, the win now teams have an advantage in a short "sprint" like season. So i pose 2 questions.

1) Do you think a short season would help the Rangers

2)Is a Stanley Cup victory in a short season tainted for any team?

I've seen a few of these, so I thought I would take a shot at it.

I'm not gonna stab at the Dickey(5mil) and Wright(16 mil) extensions, but I will start with both of their options being picked up.

Trades:

Jason Bay, Juerys Familia, Jordany Valdespin and 19 million to the Colorado Rockies for Dexter Fowler. Gives Rockies two nice near MLB ready prospects and a player who needs a change of home, with his salary covered, unless he hits his place appearance quota (which he only hits if hes preforming) and enough for his buyout if he isn't. They can move Cargo back to center, Bay to left. Fowler has seen Cargo and Tulo get nice contracts and will be bugging the Rockies for one as he recently changed agents. Something we can put off for a season and meet his arbitration around 4 mil. We can create space for this by nontendering Torres.

Daniel Murhpy for Matt Thornton. Gives White Sox either and upgrade at second or a replacement to Youk at third.

Payroll- 105-110 milI know its a tad over the projected payroll, but Sandy gets away with it for moving Jason Bay and replacing him with value.

Plan - If you have Ludwick, sit Duda against tough lefties and play Hairston, if you sign Ankiel sit him against any lefty and play Hairston in right. Let Cedeno man second till mid season, bring up Wilmer Flores if hes healthy and at least playing average in the minors. Do not split match up Shoppach and Thole, simply use them as starter and backup. Hope for Peralta to add some experience to Parnell and Elvin, while hope for a identical years out of Thornton and Rauch, maybe even use either to close. Since Harvey will hit new innings monitor scrap starters around deadline just incase you need to shut him down late August. Keep Santana on a strict pitch count but let him pitch every 5 days.

Record 78-84 as another hot start fades late in the season.

A mystery team put a claim in for Cliff Lee, while we all know it wasnt us it wouldnt of been that bad if it was us. Knowing we couldnt or wouldnt work out a deal with the Phillies we would of prevented them of unloading his contract and getting something in return.

Local Pitt writer says they need to move Paul Martin to sign Parise/Suter and reup Crosby.

If they are looking to free up cap, could probably get him for cheap.

MCG- DannyG - Staal- Matin -MDZ -Erixson in any order, or even makes MDZ open for trade as long as (Sauer/Stralman/Bickle) can hold the 6th spot.

Didnt' see much of a thread on this. And I apologize in advance about the informal fanpost. I've only skimmed the article as I just got home, and halfway to drunktown. Seems like some cool behind the scenes of the king. I must of have missed or they didnt focus on this in 24/7 Giroux begs Henrik for a goal in the WC. Also mentions Blink 182 is nonnegotiable pregame music. The whole article seems that Henrik rules New York and that New York and Henrik are a match made in heaven.But I heard Henrik today on Miked Up and he was talking about how we loves New York because no that many people care about hockey and he can walk the streets almost unnoticed.Kind of opposite opinions from SI and Henrik on the WFAN. I also heard Mike say that it was the first time a Ranger was on the cover since Gretzky in like 96.

okay here me out, give me a chance cuz i know when you first see it your gonna give up and move on,

move dan murphy back to LF

move jason back BACK to CF

move torres to the bench

start turner at second

1 turner 2b

2 murphy lf

3 wright 3rd

4 davis 1st

logic - you cant hid murphy anywhere, so why not get turner back in this lineup as a gritty leadoff hitter nd keep murphys OBP ahead of our "power" hitters. last year the cardinals had a TERRIBLE DEFENSIVE OF murphy can play lf as terribly as 2nd and it wont matter. bay is hard nosed and while he is not fast, he is good defensively. he also use to play cf. maybe if terry has him focus on playing centerfield it will relax him at the plate. torres can come in late game, as defensive replacement in any of the 3 spots spending on where we are in the lineup.

The Giants and Angel Pagan have avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year deal worth $4.85MM, reports The Associated Press (via ESPN). He can earn an additional $50K each for 550, 600, and 650 plate appearances. MLBTR's Matt Swartz projected the Legacy Sports Group client to earn $4.7MM next season.

Pagan, 30, was acquired from the Mets for Andres Torres and Ramon Ramirez back in December. He hit .262/.322/.372 with seven homers and 32 steals while battling a rib fracture in 2011, and is a .279/.331/.418 career hitter. Pagan was arbitration-eligible for the fourth time as a Super Two and will become a free agent after this coming season. He made $3.5MM last season.
