Rough Stretch Ahead

Rockies series at home then we're going to be in survival mode for the month of June:

3 vs. Rocks at home
3 @ NY Mets
3 @ Philly
3 @ AZ
3 vs. A's at home
3 vs. Toronto at home
3 @ Boston
3 @ Milwaukee
3 vs. Yanks at home
3 vs. San Diego at home
3 vs. AZ at home

If they can come out of this within striking distance at the All-Star break, they'll be in pretty good shape.  By the time they're home for the Yanks series, will they be buyers or sellers?

Bruce Jenkins article

Brucey continues his negativity towards the Giants (How come I'm ok with the McCoven negativity, but Jenkins and Olster piss me off?  Maybe it's that they hate Bonds so damn much they can't see straight) It can really be summed in one sentence--"all the other West teams are improved, so the Giants need a quick start."

This is kind of the possible scenario that I've been trying to shove to the back of my brain regarding the rest of the NL West.

Quotes Bonds attorney who things SF brass are trying to wiggle out of agreement.  Also mentions that Bonds has agreed to no entourage in the clubhouse.

What about.........trading for ARod?

Obviously, the guy needs out of NY.  SF, and it's relatively soft media, would be perfect.  Would take a big chunk of that $45 mil, but two years later, this would be somewhat on par with the Vlad signing we prayed for.  Trade them Morris and Sanchez?  Sign a leadoff CF(Pierre, etc), and wahlah:(by the way, there's no science, homework or number crunching, but just off the top of my head, so try not to bury me.....)

Pierre
Vizquel
Hillebrand
Rodriguez
Winn
Linden
Durham/Frandsen
Alfonzo/Matheney

Cain
FA
Lowry
FA
Hennesey

Rooting for whom?

So the heart says root for the Reds.  The head says root against the Reds(I can't actually root for the Dogs)....

2007 Position players

Since the rotation seems to be pretty much set for next year (outside of Schmidt staying or going/FA pickup/Sanchez), the big questions are the position players.

Using the assumptions that we'll lose Bonds, Alou, Finley, Durham, and either Hillenbrand or Feliz or both--what are some possible lineups?

If:

  1. Winn, Linden, Frandsen, Omar and Alfonzo are penciled in, leaving 1st, 3rd and two OF spots.
  2. There are no other position players from the farm system ready to make an impact
What's the consensus(or anything close to that) on where those 4 position players come from?
