Brandon Spikes: D-bag or just a typical Gator?
So ESPN and Sports Illustrated are reporting (I'll leave it to you to find on their mainpages) that Spikes has been suspended for the remainder of the season from the Pats for juicing. Got caught cheating again. Not much else to report besides another Florida player doing something blatantly wrong while Georgia gets chided for having a bunch of athletes who don't understand how the DMV works. I guess that's just the way it goes, eh?

Five things I don't believe about Georgia in 2010
So RedCrake posted yesterday, during T Kyle's vacation, on his beliefs for the upcoming season. While I originally planned a post about the nature of the CB's in Georgia's new defensive scheme (looking at both the Cowboys and UConn for background), I feel like we're getting away from what makes Georgia fans Georgia fans. We're wildly pessimistic about our footbawl, dammit. In response to RedCrake, then, here are 5 things I don't believe about Georgia football in 2010. I tend to believe, as should most UGA fans, that pessimism is more prudent than optimism. At worst, my expectations will be met, while if the best occurs, I'll be pleasantly surprised. This is always preferable to constantly being let down (optimism) in my opinion.
Dawgs rated highly in SI mock draft (NBA)
In SI's new college basketball mock-draft for next year, Jonathan Givony has both Travis Lesley and Trey Tompkins ranked in his top 20 players in the nation!
It ain't over yet: Utah to the Pac-12?
So reading over at Block U, the Utah SB site, it seems that they're getting word that they've let the Mountain West aware of their intentions to accept a Pac-10 invitation to round out the conference at 12 teams in the wake of Texas' refusal.
Why not Houston?
Ed.: Promoted.
So, like everyone else, I've been following the expansion chronicles pretty closely. And, like everyone, I laughed when I read the "news" the University of Houston slipped in during this period on their "new stadium" and all. But then, I started thinking: Texas doesn't want to join the SEC, but it seems pretty clear that A&M is interested. Houston, a Conference USA air-raid-ish team, isn't a bad idea for a couple of reasons.
Conference Realignment Guess
So, here's my breakdown of the new conference layout (as it stands today, if A&M comes to the SEC, who knows what happens), after all the reshuffling done in the next couple of years. Let me know where you think I'm wildly off-base.
What happens to the Fiesta Bowl now?
It seems like a simple question, but with the Big 12 disentigrating around Nebraska and Texas, what happens to the premier bowl game of the Mid-to-South West?
Garner versus outside DC
The inevitable has occurred. The rest of Bulldawg nation has finally come around on the FIRE WILLIE bandwagon, and now the real question becomes who to replace him with. And important in these considerations is the status of Rodney Garner, our illustrious recruiter-in-chief.
Chance of UGA running a 3-4 at times this year?
So basically, what I'm wondering is the consensus around here about the chances that we'll see some 3-4 on defense this year. I know Martinez is not particularly a tricky fellow, but there's just something about the returning players we've got that strikes me as a the perfect opportunity to throw a wrench in the system of some team who's prepared for our ever vigilant 4(-2)-3.
