Mavs Go Down - Again!
I wondered how Dallas would do after Cubans post-Thunder loss rant. Does my heart good to see that Oklahoma's other adopted beat them by over 15-pts.!
NCAA Investigates Arizona Basketball Recruiting
Interesting! Apparently the violations go back to Lute Olson. Think that might be the real reason he left?
The grit gap: Where's Hansbrough hype for Griffin?
Mike Freeman of CBS asks: why isn't the media salivating over Blake Griffin the way they are about Hansbrough? Excellent point!
Curious Absence
Although I bleed Crimson & Cream, I'm also a big Michigan State fan from my son's days there. Given their accomplishment last night, I was looking for their blog and found that they may be the most major of the big basketball schools without a blog at SBNation. I just thought that was off and wondered why that might be.
Michigan State fans are everywhere; you can find "Go Green" bumper stickers even in our part of the country.
MSU are Heroes in E. Lansing
Thousands, students & faculty, waited late Tuesday at the Breslin Center to greet & cheer for the newly crowned Big 10 champs.
So, my question is - Is Izzo goingto to shave his head as promised?
We Have Good Announcers, Too!
I not only like their style, I like the fact that they seem to have really adopted the State.
Hooked on a Longhorn
One priceless piece on Kevin Durant. Have to admit, I never thought I'd say kind things about a Longhorn, either, but this one has earned it big time.
Highlights:
When asked if he or Blake Griffin was the most popular sports figure in Oklahoma, he quickly answered Sam Bradford.
Then who should have won the Heisman? Coly McCoy, of course.
Loves to tease everyone north of the river flashing the Horns sign, but doesn't get mad when it's returned upside-down.
Refused to pose for his Rookie Challenge MVP short until teammates Green & Westbrook were alongside.
Bittersweet Years at OSU
Byron Eaton & Terrel Harris speak from the heart about how their lives at OSU didn't turn out as expected.
The Class of 2005
OSU signed what was supposed to be the country's #1 recruiting class that year. Three never played a single game for OSU. Only two are still with the team.
Play Hard, Pray Hard
A wonderful story about the pre-game prayer at Thunder games. It's one of those which has to be read; describing it doesn't do it justice.
"The Thunder did it patching together the kookiest lineups you’ve ever seen....Who can explain it, who can tell you why? Fools give you reasons, wise men never try....for good measure, it was OKC’s first major-league win over Dallas. The Hornets were 0-8 against Dallas when they were stationed here....But the Thunder also won because the guys who had to introduce themselves to each other while they ran down the court played a professional game."
Of course the fact that the Mavs played 3 games in 4 days with a bruiser the night before probably helped, too.
Thunder Stun Dallas
Game Highlights:
Krstic's highest scoring game since 2006;
Westbrook's first triple double;
first triple-double since the move
Great night; good job
