SnakeBytes 7/11: Oh Thank Heaven

With an off-day yesterday, not much breaking news on the D-backs front. The Diamondbacks head to San Francisco for a 3-game set with the Giants before the All-Star game festivities start in Minnesota.

SnakeBytes 7/7: Time to Retool

With the Diamondbacks seemingly out of contention from the beginning, now comes the uneasy process of admitting defeat and unloading aging players and bloated contracts. Kevin Towers wasn't lying when he said there'd be more trades on the horizon, an

SnakeBytes 7/4: America Day

Happy 4th of July to all the Americans. From everyone at the Snakepit, we hope you have a wonderful day filling your faces with delicious food and preferred beverage.

SnakeBytes 6/30: Sputtering Offense

"Offensively, we only scored six runs," D-backs manager Kirk Gibson said of the series. "I think we were kind of fortunate to have two wins to be honest with you."

Diamondbacks 1, Padres 2: Despaigne Brings Pain

Mike Bolsinger gave up 2 runs in 6 innings but had no run support from his offense as the D-backs lost the series finale.

Diamondbacks 1, Padres 2

Michael Bolsinger pitched through some struggles but the offense was shut down by Padres rookie Ordisamer Despaigne and their bullpen to deny the sweep in San Diego.

Adrian Wojnarowski describes what Phoenix has planned for both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.

SnakeBytes 6/27: Regroup and Rearm

The halfway point has come and gone, and the D-backs will continue to look for answers during this terrible season. They start a series in San Diego tonight at 7 looking to start the 2nd half refreshed.

SnakeBytes 6/23: June Swoon

After having a better than .500 record in May, the D-backs have come back down to earth and are now 9-12 in June. This begs the question, when will the changes happen? With an off-day today, this could be the day we've all been waiting for.

SnakeBytes 6/20: Yovani Dominates

Yovani Gallardo improved to 8-0 against the D-backs all-time as the D-backs lost 4-1 in the series finale Thursday. Tim Lincecum will start the opener tonight against the D-backs in the opening game of a 3-game set.

SnakeBytes 6/16: Tony Gwynn

The world lost a great one when Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn died in a hospital last night. He had taken a leave of absence from coaching and was battling cancer from which he said was from chewing tobacco. The D-backs return home and face the Brewers.

SnakeBytes 6/13: Failing in Extras

MIguel Montero gave the D-backs new life, but Chris Carter had other plans as he hit his 3rd homer to give the Astros the victory and the series win. The D-backs fly back to the West Coast to face the Dodgers.

SnakeBytes 6/9: Rookies Carry D-backs

A 6-run outburst was just enough to beat the Braves and complete the series win. The Astros come to town for a home/away set with the D-backs.

SnakeBytes 6/6: Draft Day

With former top prospects on display at Coors Field, the next future D-backs were selected with big hopes in their future. The D-backs swept the Rockies and now head back home against Atlanta looking to continue their recent great play.

SnakeBytes 6/2: Off to the Rockies

Lots of chances to split the series or even win it against the Reds, but it's a case of not doing enough and the D-backs lose 3 of the 4 games. With an off-day on Monday, the D-backs will head up to Colorado to face the Rockies.

SnakeBytes 5/30: Facing the Minimum

Josh Collmenter was brilliant yesterday against the Reds, as he pitched a shutout and faced the minimum 27 batters in the 4-0 D-backs victory. Don't look now, but the D-backs have won 5 of 7 and continue to get great starting pitching.

SnakeBytes 5/26: Memorial Day

Today we remember those who sacrificed their lives to give us the freedoms we have today. From everyone here at the SnakePit, we wish you a very happy Memorial Day.

SnakeBytes 5/23: Swept Away

A case of a better team playing better baseball as the Cardinals swept the D-backs in St. Louis. The D-backs had their chances for sure, but when they score 9 of their 12 runs with 2 outs in the series, something is off.

SnakeBytes 5/19: Home Cooking

After a month and a half of trying, the D-backs finally leave home with a series win under their belt thanks to some timely homers by Cody Ross and Eric Chavez. The D-backs look to pick up where they left off on the road.

SnakeBytes 5/15: #BaetLa

The D-backs host the Dodgers again as they come to Chase for a 3-game set. The Dodgers (22-20) owe much of their record to the Diamondbacks, as they are 7-1 this season against the home team.

SnakeBytes 5/12: Chased back to Chase

Chase Anderson and the D-backs took care of business in Chicago as they finished the series and roadtrip with a win. Now we go back to Chase Field for a set with the Washington Nationals starting today in the opener.

SnakeBytes 5/9: Draft Day Hangover

Most sports taking a break to worship the handegg annual player placement ceremony and as such, the D-backs had the day off in Chicago to do stuff. Brandon McCarthy will lead the D-backs in tomorrow's series opener against the White Sox.

SnakeBytes 5/5: Cinco de Mayo

Hopefully everyone is having a great Cinco de Mayo, I know I will as I stuff my face with tacos. The D-backs head to Milwaukee to face the Brewers after taking 2 games in San Diego.

SnakeBytes 5/2: Off-Day Blues

An off-day for the team as they travel to San Diego to face the 13-16 Padres. Will May bring change for the D-backs?

Sickels: 4 Dbacks Prospects in Top 150

The D-backs farm system is barren of elite level talent.

SnakeBytes 4/28: Not a Good Phight

An amazing start from Brandon McCarthy was squandered as the offense failed to show up against the Phillies. The 8-20 D-backs face the 14-12 Rockies at home for a 3 game set starting tonight.

SnakeBytes 4/25: All We Do Is Win, Win

This team can't be stopped. After losing the first two games of the series against the mighty Chicago Cubs, the souls of the Kansas City Packers straightened the Dbacks out and have them on their 2nd 2-game winning streak of the season.

SnakeBytes 4/21: Get out of Dodge(r Stadium)

After having every chance to win the game in LA, the D-backs leave with a series loss but did show some life and fight as they continue their terrible season. The D-backs head to Wrigley Field for a series with the Cubs.

SnakeBytes 4/14: Spring Cleaning

After a surprising series win in San Francisco, the D-backs returned home and their pitching left them as they gave up 19 runs in the 3 games against the Dodgers. The Mets come to town as Josh Collmenter gets his first start since 2012.
