Just some personal thoughts.....
As most of us I felt very positive about this season and what the Cubs could do with it. And having the bitter taste of last post season still in my mouth, I was ready for what this team could and should do, and that is winning the World Series.
I started the season with a promise to myself; I would NOT miss a single Cubs game, something that I set out because I wanted to see this miraculous season unfold and be a part of every single game. I went as far as to purchase the MLB radio so I could catch the games at work and would always see every game when I was at home. I did not fulfill this goal as I had a few meetings at work that did not allow me to see the games but would watch the replay if it was on CSN. All in all I devoted myself to this team and this season.
We made some great moves in the off season and some great pick ups and trades that made this team feel like it was the best we have seen. We set new marks, broke/set major league records, saw a no-hitter, and even great come from behind wins. This season was amazing and one that I will never forget.
As we sit here on the brink of elimination in what we all thought would be “The Year” please don’t give up. We have two pitchers going that are good and could pull this off and help us reach our goal. Yes last nights game was hard to watch and is still hard to swallow, but we are not last year’s team and we started to show some light in the 9th inning.
Last night I was so frustrated that I took my jersey off and threw it in to the corner at the bar and could not even watch the game. Basically I was throwing a temper tantrum worse than some 4 year old kids. I found my self just looking out the window or off into random space because I could only wonder what might have been. I am trying to keep my head up and be positive about the next few games and that maybe we can bring it back home and have game 5 to move on. It has been done before and I think that this team has the power to do so.
I have many reasons why I want to see the Cubs win a world series. As I grew up my great grandfather would always sit in his rocking char and listen to the games. You could always tell if they were winning because he would be calm but if they were losing he would rock the chair harder and harder. Sadly he passed away in 1992. I want them to win it so that I go to his grave site and tell him we did it! And I want everyone who has a relative that has passed away to be able to do the same! We will wait for them and when we get there we will celebrate it with them!
Let’s go to LA and bring this back home!
Please keep your heads up Cubs fans and let’s go get what is ours!
GO CUBS GO!!!!!!!!!

So the magic number is now 1
I know tomorrows game is on fox...BOOOOOOO! IF the Cubs win tomorrow they will clinch the NL cent!!! I really want to see them win tomorrow and they know that they will have the the NL Cent title for the 2nd year in a row. BUT seeing how the game is on fox I doubt we will see the post game celebration. I just want people to voice in on these ideas I am going to list:
Do you pitch big Z the rest of the season or rest him?
What do you do with D Lee, Dome, Soto, DeRo, Fonz, A-ram? Rest or play for 3-5 innings?
How do you play your starting pitchers?
Start the shark?
Let some guys go 3-4 innings starting and put someone in for a few then play one per inning? Just give guys some work?
Just throwing some ideas out there, please voice your thoughts.
GO CUBS!!!!!!! THIS I A SEASON TO REMEMBER FOR A LONG TIME!!
As a added note I would like to thank Al for his hard work to this site and everthing he has done! I check in on this site alot at work to see what people say and sometimes make a post. I just looked at the local news paper site here in Iowa and saw they had the story about the boy who was hit by the foul ball is expected to go home!! I did not see the update on here yet, so I thought i would let everyone know as we were all thinking and praying for him.
May he have a fast recovery and a great end to a long season for him!

Why ESPN Baseball SUCKS!!!
Why is it that every time the Cubs play on ESPN they have to remind us of the fact that it has been 100 years with someones story or a simple comment atleast once an inning?? Or the fact that they must always bring up 2003 NLCS and Bartman?? I mean if they dont know anything else about the cubs or baseball why cover it?? I just get tired of hearing the same thing over and over like a broken record player. And the same goes for FOX coverage as well, they tend to do the same but usually its more about the 100 years than Bartman.
Regardless, LETS GO CUBBIES!!!!!!!!!

8 out of 10?!?!?!??
Just a little fun, I created a Poll to see what people have to say about the last home stand. Soriano came out of his slump, we won 8 and were in the game for the other two including a 9th inning that almost won it off a D Lee shot to right center. I was on my seat for most of the game this home stand and could not think of any other time i have been so excited to see a great cubs team play. Feel free to share your thoughts on the stand and what you expect to see on this road stand and then coming back home next week
