I keep hearing all of this talk about the Steelers switching from the 3-4 blitz scheme to Tomlins preferred tampa 2 style. I really hope that doesnt happen. Their style of defense is the main thing that makes the Steelers who they are, and Dick Lebeau has been running it to perfection for years.

To me it doesnt get any better when linebackers are bouncing in and out, and Polamalu starts creeping in from the secondary before the snap further confusing the other teams line so bad that they dont know who or where the pressure is coming from. Plus our players are built for the 3-4, so even if they decided to switch i dont know who would play D end. Our hybrid linebackers and run stuffing lineman are perfect for the style we run. I like the relentless attitude of going all out after the QB instead of just sitting back with a (bend not break) mentality. If Tomlin does make the switch you can expect the Steeler D to not be much more than any other boring, run of the mill mediocre defense. It would be like a pitbull getting his balls chopped off.
