injury report
Wow looks like half the roster is on the injury report - including peyton. That said, a lot of them still seemed to have practiced. I hope neither Freeney nor peyton is anything that will affect their play. Was a real shock to see peyton, as that is a rare sighting. (unlike brady who seems to be a permanent fixture on the pats injury report)
Is this enough words?
Nope.. i still need another seven words. now it should be long enough

Favourite Moment of the Weekend
With no colts to watch so far, I think my favourite moment was watching Ray Lewis come through the Chargers line UNTOUCHED, and blow up the run on fourth down by Sproules, to seal the win for Baltimore. I almost died laughing. The look on Rivers face was priceless.
I was watching the first half of the Dallas game hoping to see a punt hit the scoreboard... Wonder how many punters will be aiming for it this year.
Any other thoughts on the best moments in the non-colts games?

Tickets prices
As a toronto colt fan desparately hoping the colts play the bills here in Toronto this year, we got the news that the ticket prices would be cheaper this year, and that they would be LOWERING them to between 100-300 dollars.
What I'd like to know is how badly we are getting hosed here.. How much do seats run if you see a home game in the Lucas Oil Stadium? (Even considering that the canadian dollar is lower this means the cheapest seats would be around $80 US)

Hagler resigned
http://www.colts.com/ is reporting that Hagler resigned. I wonder why it took so long. He must have tested the market and discovered there wasn't much interest.

Favre Retires... Again
NFL.com and others are reporting Favre has once again retired. Any bets on whether it will last this time or not?
It is very sad when a great player ends his career with this type of desperately trying to stretch out his career .. and doesn't look very good doing it.
HOpe he stays retired this time as he is certainly a first ballot HOFer. Would have been a much better note if he had done it after a successful year in GB last year.
Wonder what the hell the jets will do for a QB now. Anyone think they will make a run at Cassel? (though maybe less likely with Mangini gone).
have I made 75 words yet......................................

Cassel tagged
nfl website is reporting Cassel has been tagged. His salary (and cap hit) would be 14.65 million. compare this to brady whose cap hit this coming year is 14.62... That means the pats would have almost 30mil tied up in QB's. And the cap for this coming year is just over 129 million.
They would have 25% of their cap room tied up in two guys, who can't even play at the same time (or even on opposite sides of the ball)
They must not have a lot of faith in brady being back healthy..

open thread for tonight
seeing as BBS seems to be AWOL still... Anybody else out there watching the game..
We need to root for the jets (which isn't hard rooting for Favre) since we own the tie break over the Pats..
And the pats are missing both Adalius Thomas and Ty Warren. The losses on defense may do this team in... It is really their defense that won them 3 rings..
Blah Blah Blah... I am still short words. This is a real pain to make this long enough..

firefox add on
I don't know if anyone else has stumbled on this, but if you use firefox (version 2) there is a colts theme addon... I have it running on my browser now.. Is kind of neat since it gives you horseshoes with all your icons, it colts colours of course... I can't seem to get a screen capture or I'd put that up too..
Anybody else know of any good backgrounds or screensavers with a colts theme?
Though I must admit since I spend a lot of hours on a computer it is kind of a tease staring at colts logo when we haven't seen a game in months....
How the hell long is 75 words?

Start Streaks
Any body else wonder if peyton for some reason misses a start this season. (say if we decided to play it safe once we have the division locked up). If Favre would finally retire and stay retired? I wonder how much of Favre's decision to return had to do with the fact that Peyton could possibly challenge that record in particular. I just can't understand otherwise why Favre would bother to return when the Packers didn't want him on the field yet were willing to offer him big bucks to do something else. I truly hope when peyton is done he doesn't try to hold on like this. It seems terribly selfish to play that kind of game with a team who did so well by you on Favre's part.

Warren Sapp retires
Warren Sapp too has retired this year. As the NFL site mentions this is a bit ironic that he and Favre retire the same year, given the history of trash talking between these two when they still played in the same division.
On a side note, here is a player that played 13 years in the league, and yet according to the NFL report was fined only twice in that entire time. (one for that infamous hit after an interception on the green bay player)
The fact that as a defensive lineman he could play so many years with so few fines, and yet a player like Wilfork is fined 3 times in a single season I think is reflective of a classy, skilled player (even with all the trash talk) vs. a dirty player who uses illegal hits to achieve an end rather than talent.
