I'm a transplanted Leaf lifer, hanging out in Central California, geographically as far removed as possible from all things Leaf. Also, I like peanut butter, smooth, not crunchy.

Everything Tastes Better When the Novocaine Sets In
There goes the rhythm! Leafs lost again last night, like you didn't already know that. So much for win two, lose one. Poop...
I've got nothing else to add, my mind is experiencing some sort of blackout. Maybe I'm numb...? Butch Walker is going to see me through. I hope.
- The man, the myth, the legend: jrwendelman wants to talk about Nikolai Kulemin and his increasing level of awesomeness.
- Vintage Leafs introduces you to a few famous Leafs fans, including this guy, who I almost used for the theme music today. I just wasn't feeling "Tip-Toe Through the Tulips."
- If LD were in charge of the NYC Macy's parades, I'd tune in more often.
- Norman James thinks it's time for Phil Kessel to step up and play like he's paid to. As opposed to whatever he's been playing like before I suppose...?
- TML Fan Fury has the Leafs Christmas wish list. I guess we'll find out soon if they've been naughty or nice.
- Frozen Leafs recaps last nights game. The only recap I've got...

Why Luke Schenn was Scratched
Coach Ron Wilson explains his reasoning behind the sophomore's recent stretch of healthy scratches.
Want it Fast & Hard (No, That's Not What She Said...)
Here's the skinny. At this writing, I've literally just walked in the door from a weekend in San Francisco. I've left my wife to unload the car and put the bubba to bed, as I've got important things to attend to. No, not really...
Anyhoo, here's your links, quick and dirty, fast and hard. To get you in the mood, here's a clip of Tommy Stinson singing today's theme song.
- Steve is seeking first line centers. No, not Matt Stajan....
- Bloge Salming has a new video up that somehow has been blocked on my computer. That must mean it's double the times of awesome.
- Vintage Leafs. Wendel Clark. 'Nuff said.
- The Other Vatican is calling it a year.
- Kavel kaptions komik. Part 29 of...?
- Toronto Mike is getting misty from some MLG memories. Not to mention, the Bruins Saturday night visit.
- Frozen Leafs spins a terrible tale of the return of The Monster. Muwahahahahahaha!
- Under the Helmet gets us up to date on Leafs scoring chances for the past two games: First the Leafs @ Buffalo, and secondly with the Bruins in town.
- The gang at MLHS has a reason for their writing. I didn't know we needed one.
- Greatest Hockey Legends is in the spirit of the season. Leafs hockey season that is...
UPDATE
- The general gives us a few words for the wise, and the rest of you as well.

Ask and Ye Shall Receive, or Be Careful What You Wish For...
I made the mistake of pointing out a slow trickle of blog posts for yesterday's previous FTB, and what do you know? It's a full on deluge of posts today! When it rains it pours. I think I've filled my cliche quote for the day...

Are we there yet? (via www.sfjohnson.rtsquad.org)
- More on the disaster with the dingos from JaredFromLondon, Toronto Mike, budBlog and Kohma.
- Do the holidays have you stressed out? Is there no one who can offer you sane advice for your home entertaining questions? Of course there is, Loser Domi knows just the person!
- The Far Away Leaf sees some ugly issues from previous months rearing their ugly head. Are we in for a return of the losing streak?
- Get down Joey MacDonald, Viktor Stalberg is up in da hizzy! Oh ya, Luke Schenn returns as well. MLHS gives you da 411. Word.
- Frozen Leafs thinks this is no time for Driving Miss Daisy, we need some Days of Thunder!
- Random thoughts. Kavel Pubina's got 'em .
- Vintage Leaf Memories is reminiscing about the original twelve. Wherefore art thou California Golden Seals!?!
- Is the graffiti trying to tell us something? The Torontoist says yes! What say you?
- A new season needs a new calendar. Changing On the Fly has something you might kinda sorta think is TOTALLY AWESOME!
UPDATE
- Shield stayed up all night, just to write something for you.

Jared has the return of the LOLeafs.

This isn't really related to the Leafs, but it's a great story.
William Wallen plays for Mississauga's St. Michael's Majors. Late in 2008, Wallen suffered a brain aneurysm and went through two surgeries before finally returning to the ice in January of 2009. Here's an article from The Hockey News that gives you a little more information.
Now look at him. The video above comes from a game earlier this week against the OHL powerhouse Windsor Spitfires.

What is the Sound of Nobody Typing?
Between taxing games of beer-pong and co-ed pillow fights, we here at PPP Amalgamated Heavy Industries and Corner Lemonade Stands LLC put in long arduous hours of work. So you can imagine, much to our chagrin, that after the Leafs loss to the Coyotes there wasn't much of a reaction. In fact, very little was heard from throughout the Barilkospehere.
- Not everyone took the night off, as the guys at MLHS recapped the game. Chalk up another moral victory. Yay...
- Our very own mf37 was kind enough to make you all a list of the things to buy me for Christmas. Ain't he sweet?
- Vintage Leafs has more pics awaiting your perusal.
- Leaf & Lion got into the eggnog a little early. It happens to the best of us. Not me personally, but I've heard stories...
- Vintage Leaf Memories is talking about the present, and hopeful for the future.
- Lastly, I found a link to the film "Pond Hockey" on line. You can watch the film in it's entirety, and it's perfectly legit. Should you find yourself with nothing to do, pull up a comfy chair, put down the book, and give this a spin.

I've Been Busy Making Other Plans
So it is another short and sweet FTB. Well, short anyways...
- Our very own Bitter Leaf kicks things off first. Is John Mitchell's injury the best thing to ever happen to the Leafs (Stajan in particular) so far this season? Speaking of Matt Stajan, how much money is he going to cost come July?
- Toronto Mike was the latest blogger invited to the press box by the Leafs. It's a day late but here is his take from press box seat #67 of the Ottawa at Toronto game.
- Under the Helmet of Slava Duris has been tracking the Leafs scoring chances each game. I suck because I keep forgetting to link it. So, hopefully, that's been rectified.
- The problem with winning (if you can call it a problem) is that players once deemed a waste of space, suddenly don't look so bad. The question is, what to do? The Bud Blog was kind of hoping you might know...
- No one wants to be held accountable when the chips are down and life is rough, but win a few games, and suddenly leaders are crawling out of the woodwork. Frozen Leaf takes a look at who those players are this season.
- Although much of our talk has centered around Team Canada, there are in fact other countries playing hockey in the winter Olympics as well. No idea why though. Anyhoo, HockeyCentric runs down the Leafs potential Olympic hopefuls, and shockingly Stajan isn't one of them.
- UPDATE: Down Goes Brown continues to go through the product of a well spent youth. Today it results in the latest Great Obscure Moments in Leafs History.

A New OHL Poll
Which new Team Canada hopeful should make the biggest impact at the selection camp? Take the poll. and do your part to vote Kadri!
He's currently in 2nd place behind Windsor's (and future non-Bruin) Taylor Hall.

It was thought his hospital stay would last up to two months. But an examinaton yesterday morning revealed that the injury is a spinal contusion and the recovery period will be weeks, not months.
Great news for Gerber and his family. The Sun's Don Brennan has more.

Celebrating the Leafs Good Points...
is much easier when they're actually winning games. Wouldn't you agree? Moral victories are all well and good (psst, they're not) but a few "W's" are what it's all about. When those losses pile up, it's easy to lose sight of the reasons you even cheer for the team you do.
In case that happens again, maybe you'll want to bookmark this to jog your memory.

Memories... (via i376.photobucket.com)
- Have you ever asked yourself: "Does this hat make me look ridiculous?" Apparently, neither have Flyers fans. Our own WAC takes us shopping and delivers the proof.
- The general has 8008s on the brain. Oh, that's an acronym; BoOBbB. Never mind what I was thinking...
- Jared's all about swimmin in women wit they own condominiums, 5 plus 5...what? No, seriously, what? You hatin' on P-Diddy? You be trippin'...
- Steve takes a look at a few positive notes about the Leafs season so far. I'm assuming they all kind of explain the recent wins.
- The Battle of Ontario boys got drunk last night, and at least two of them enjoyed the game.
- Big Brother: Episode 3. Who will stay, and who will go? *Your vote decides, as two player's livelihoods hang in the balance. (* Note - no actual voting takes place, and if it did, yours wouldn't be counted.)
- Now that Luke Schenn is completely ruined for the rest of his life because noted hockey experts like "el Cox" have deemed their opinions as more important and correct than those who actually, you know, WORK in hockey for a living. (deep breath...) TSM was wondering, what should the Leafs do with Schenn?
- Could it be? Do the Leafs suddenly have a "shut down" line? When did this happen? Should I keep asking questions? Where are you going?
- What does the week ahead hold for the Leafs? Stuff. Important stuff with hockey and practices and ninjas. And they'll probably have a pizza party. Also, other stuff. Frozen Leafs can fill you in on that.
- Sure the Leafs are winning, and yes, they're one of the hottest teams in the league. We know they beat the Eastern Conference leading Capitals. However, that doesn't mean they're any good. Or does it?
- Lastly, a non-hockey related post that, in my old age, I was quite certain I authored. Here's what you young whipper snappers, with your internets and your sexting and your combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell have to look forward to.
