The Slipper Still Fits Adam Morrison workout video

Here's a clip of Jim Morrison. I mean Adam Morrison. From what I have been reading, he has been doing well. I really think that he has the skill to play in the league. The only thing that concerns me is. does he have his old fire. I don't think that he was prepared for the NBA in his first go around. Here's to hoping!

The Slipper Still Fits Morrison Works out for the Nets.

We have ourselves a Adam Morrison sighting boys and girls. Looks like Amo still has the fire to compete and is trying to catch on with the Brooklyn Nets. I would love for Morrison to make it back in the league and become a good scorer off the bench. I think that we all could agree that Morrison was by far most dominant zag of our generation. Back in the day with Morrison and J. P. Batista, the Zags were a must watch. Hope you like the article and Morrison's flowing hair!

The Slipper Still Fits Mountaineers to visit Gonzaga in basketball

It looks like coach Few is at it again. Looks like Gonzaga and West Virgina are going to go at it again. You would be hard pressed to find another school that has a out of conference schedule like the Zags! I'm looking forward to seeing if Przemek Karnowski is all that and a bag of chips. I can't wait for the season start! Here's the link to the site. GO ZAGS!!!!!

The Slipper Still Fits Morrison working out for the Nets.

Adam Morrison is getting a tryout with the Brooklyn Nets. I'm hoping that he makes it back in the league and can contribute. I always loved watching him light it up back in his Gonzaga days. He's in the top three or four all time ZAGS. Who's the greatest ZAG of all? Here's a link to the site. Can't wait till next season! Go ZAGS!!!!

The Slipper Still Fits Who has the most coaching victories over the past nine college basketball seasons?

I know that I beating a dead horse, but I just saw this on line and thought I would share this with you guys.

I know Bill Self has won the most games in the NCAA since he’s been at Kansas. Who are the top 10 coaches in that time period?

Since taking over the program in 2003, Self has won a national-best 269 games over the nine-year span. The Jayhawks’ run to the NCAA title game provided Self’s five-win margin over the second-place coach in that time frame, Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski. Each entered the tournament with 264 wins over the nine years. Lehigh’s upset of Duke helped push Self ahead of Coach K.

The eight coaches are North Carolina’s Roy Williams (257 wins), Ohio State’s Thad Matta (247), Kentucky’s John Calipari (246), Pitt’s Jamie Dixon (238), Gonzaga’s Mark Few, Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim and Florida’s Billie Donovan (237) and Connecticut’s Jim Calhoun (228).

Michigan State’s Tom Izzo and Texas’ Rick Barnes are just outside the top 10. It should be noted that Calipari would be No. 1 in the period if his 38 victories at Memphis in 2007-08 hadn’t been vacated by the NCAA.

As a comparison, current Kansas State coach Bruce Weber went 210-101 after taking over for Self at Illinois. Wichita State’s Gregg Marshall has won 204 games in the period, with four of the seasons coming at Winthrop.

Self has 476 total wins, good for 63rd place on the career list. He only needs 451 to catch Krzyzewski — or 18 more 25-win seasons. And for Coach K to retire.

The Slipper Still Fits Cal or Gonzaga for 7-footer? ESPN insider

UPDATE: The Spokesman-Review reported on Wednesday that a decision for 7-foot Polish center Przemek Karnowski could be days away.

Gonzaga and Cal look to be the two main candidates at this point, and of the two, the Golden Bears could have more riding on his decision. Cal is projected to be thin up front next season after the loss of Harper Kamp, and as the roster stands today it will have to rely heavily on slender sophomore David Kravish and true freshmen Kaileb Rodriguez and Kahlil Johnson.

---

Gonzaga's pursuit of Przemek Karnowski continues. And it appears some competitors in this race might be trailing off.

According to Adam Rowe of Duke Hoop Blog, the Polish big man will not be making visits to Duke or Kansas. And Slipper Still Fits tweets out that Karnowski is heading back to Poland and making Cal his last visit. The Blue Devils had been making a push for his services, but this would seem to take them out of the running. It would also seem to bode well for the Bulldogs, whom Karnowski recently visited and many have considered the favorite to land him all along.

The Slipper Still Fits Mark Few On transfers on ESPN radio

I know that there are a few of a us that have been going back and fourth about Spangler and all the kids transferring out of of Gonzaga. After hearing Mark few on the he herd with Colin Cowherd, I couldn't a agree more. I think that Coach Few gave a great explanation on college kids and transfers. Like I said before. If people would look around college basketball, it happens more than you think. The sky isn't falling at Gonzaga like some tend to think. Take a listen to coach Few on the link and fire a way. It's only about 8 minutes long.

The Slipper Still Fits Happy for Spangler, but it still hurts.

After reading the press release with the Spangler signing. I was little conflicted. While I hated to see a good kid go, I was happy that he got the chance to play closer to home. He's sounded happy with being back in his home state. I was hoping that he would have stuck it out one more year to see if Gonzaga was the place for him. I'm just being a little selfish. Here is the link. Anymore thoughts?

The Slipper Still Fits something to build on!

I know I will more than likely get killed by a few of you out there, but I was happy with the season. Without a doubt I wanted them to make a deeper run, but the future looks bright. This time last year, we were going into the next season with a offensive leper in Goodson , Marquise Carter and two freshmen that no one has ever seen play. The guard position was to say the least was unsettling. With the solid play of Pangos and Bell and Harris getting healthy, I thought they had a strong season. If you would have told me that they would be starting two true freshmen, get nothing out of Carter, and not have Guy Landry during the heart of the non conference schedule and finish the season as they did. Most all of you would have taken it. I see a lot of things they can build on. The young guys(Pangos,Bell, and Edi) gained a great deal of experience. Not only in the non conference part of the schedule and the Big Dance. They also learned that playing in a improving WCC, your going to get everyone's best shot. With Olynyk coming back and adding some size and hopefully Dranginis can come in and contribute. Things are looking good! We all know that Few will set up a crazy schedule, but he will have them ready!

The Slipper Still Fits Worlds greatest Zags fan.

As great as today was with the zags getting a big win, it lost a little bit of it's luster. Early in the game when I heard that the young man named Brandon Chastain lost his battle with caner, it took a little wind out of my sails. I became aware of him through the coaches vs cancer game and seeing his story on the Mark Few Show. Even though the story was a sad one, it was great to see the team take him in and raise his spirits. I would like to think that they won that one for him. Anyways, I wanted to give some respect to one of our bravest zags. May God bless Brandon and his family.

The Slipper Still Fits Show some perspective.

As a TRUE fan of the ZAGS, I'm saddened to see some of the post by by a few knuckleheads out there. You see some guys talking about getting rid of Few, how hopeless this season is, and how ZAGS blow season, history, and pride. First off, some of you are over reacting and are acting like a bunch of clowns. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but people need to take a look in the mirror and show some perspective. Whenever the team loses a game or two, people start calling for Few job. First off, take a look at his record. Look at the teams that he schedule's. You don't win that many conference championships in a row and become a bad coach. To keep a team like Gonzaga relevant in the area where there are so many Pac-12 teams. Not many coaches could pull that off. To get rid of a coach, you have to get a coach. You think that there are any good coaches available willing to come here? I know that Gonzaga is a good place, but it's not a coaching hot spot. To say that how hopeless the season is a little near sighted. They only have four losses. Would you like for them to win the league and go out in the 2nd round or not win the league and make it to the elite or final four? There is a lot of season left. Let's get to the end of the season before calling it a failure. After reading the post by SoldierofZagistan, I was taken back. To talk about someone's pride and to say they humiliated you is sad. If you live your life through 18-20 year old guys, you need to find something more to do with your life. How can a team humiliate you? You talk about being a warrior, but then you talk about quitting? I understand being upset after a loss. I have been heart broken and pissed. I have been critical of player before. I also understand this is the place to vent and let it out. What I don't understand is when people take a college team losing personally and lash out. I just think people need to show some perspective. Keep the faith! It's a long season. GO ZAGS!!!!

The Slipper Still Fits Relax ladies and gents. It's all good!

Your going to have this when you have freshmen at point. While Pangos and Bell have been great, they also have stretches where they play like freshmen. Overall GU is a very young team in key positions. While Bells D is awesome and may be the best on the team(Hart). He has mental lapse. He looks off the post and has to works on cutting down on his turnovers. Pangos is a stud and made a huge pass tonight to help seal the game, but times struggles to get them in their sets. A guy a like Sacre depends on the guards to get him the ball where he needs it to be effective. All post players for the most part depend on guards to get them the ball. Guard play is where it's at in college basketball. Just look at last two seasons when GU had Goodson at point. Once these young guys get some more experience, you will see less peaks and valleys. So relax and enjoy the ride! These guys are good and they're only getting better.
