the Colts stampede that came to Jacksonville Municipal Stadium on Monday night obliterated a lot of hopes and dreams. Those hopes and dreams of the jags and their fans were for winning the AFC south. It was made very clear that the Jags don't yet measure up to the elite status they thought they did.

http://www.seahawkshuddle.com/v1/viewforum.php?f=433

Jags Get Caught In A Colt Stampede

the Colts stampede that came to Jacksonville Municipal Stadium on Monday night obliterated a lot of hopes and dreams. Those hopes and dreams of the jags and their fans were for winning the AFC south. It was made very clear that the Jags don't yet measure up to the elite status they thought they did.

The Indianapolis Colts dominated the Jacksonville Jaguars in every area of the game. This game showed how the Colts and the patriots truly both are the elite of the league and the rest of the league is below them by far. The best we as Jag fans can now hope for is to get one of the wild card slots to get into the playoffs.

The Jaguars offense struggled the whole game. Garrard was 8-12 for 72 yards. He had no Tochdowns or interceptions. He was then injured and with his injury the Jags suffered a good bit. Quinn Gray came in and went 9-24 for 56 yards and two interceptions.

The running game worked but seemed to struggle some. Fred Taylor ran 11 times for 55 yards. Maurice Jones-Drew ran 13 times for 52 yards and 1 touchdown. Towards the end of the game Jones-Drew injured his knee. There are no reports as of yet on how serious the injury may be. His agent says he is alright and it is just one of those bruises that come with playing football.

The defense could not stop the Colts. They especailly had trouble on third downas Indy was 7-14 on third down and 1-1 on fourth down. The Colts ran for 141 yards and passed for 243 yards against the strength of the Jaguars.

It seems very clear to me that the Jaguars still are not where they need to be. They are a good team but not a great one. The New england Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts are two teams that will most likely decide the NFL championship this year.

In order to add depth to the roster at Quarterback the Jags signed Todd Bouman to the roster as a backup Quarterback. In order to do this they had to release Linebacker Pat Thomas. This move is one i still don`t understand.

The Jags have a capable backup in Lester Ricard on their practice squad that knows the system and looked fairly good in preseason play. Instead they go outside the system to bring in a 35 year old guy that doesn`t know the playbook and hasn`t played at all since the final three games of 2005. this move to me is questionable considering Ricard sitting there on the practice squad. Why do we have him if not for things like this. If he osn`t good enough to step in as a backup then why do we keep him on the practice squad?

The Jaguars have to somehow salvage the rest of the season from disaster because of injuries and the fact that they see they are not yet among the elite teams in the NFL. They have to keep from becoming discouraged and play through with at least a few wins in order to have any shot at the playoffs this year.

In the week leading up to the Jaguar vs the Chiefs game i had the opportunity to banter back and forth with a Chiefs fan about the upcoming game. As the game has been played and the outcome was as good as it was for the Jagaurs i am posting the discussion we had. It was an enjoyable time speaking with a fan that loves the team they support and has some good ideas about what needs they have and where the Chiefs could be this season.

Jacksonville wins at Kansas City

In the week leading up to the Jaguar vs the Chiefs game i had the opportunity to banter back and forth with a Chiefs fan about the upcoming game. As the game has been played and the outcome was as good as it was for the Jagaurs i am posting the discussion we had. It was an enjoyable time speaking with a fan that loves the team they support and has some good ideas about what needs they have and where the Chiefs could be this season.

Another thingis i hope all of you will take a look at the blog site where bankmeister writes and the link is here; http://www.houseofgeorges.blogspot.com Bankmeister: Since you mentioned having defeated my colleagues' beloved Broncos, lets' start it off by talking about that game. Your squad made fools of the home team in that game by stifling their rushing attack, dominating with their own and making David Garrard look like he'd been the starter for three years. Jack del Rio always puts together tough teams, but that's an especially tough place in which to win. To what do you attribute the team's early-season success? Also, how does the fan base feel about Byron Leftwich's departure? And how does Fred Taylor continue to have gas in his tank?

Robert Bach.: Well to be honest they did not look so good in the first two games, and I believe they got it together for Denver knowing they had a tough game ahead of them. The first game against Tennessee they only ran for 72 yards and Tennessee ran for 282 yards on a defense that was supposed to be the strength of the team. I think they were embarrassed by that and wanted to show who they were. They also wanted to do this against a good team of which Denver is no exception. Most of the fans are happy about the departure of Byron Leftwich. I am not most of the fan base but Garrard does seem to doing a more-than-adequate job as the starter. It is a long season, however, and we will see how it pans out over time. The biggest thing is to give Fred the ability to do what he does is the emergence of Maurice Jones-Drew last year. The sharing system they have means that Taylor doesn`t take the full beating game in and game out so he can stay healthy all season and be effective in game after game, along with his counterpart. I have actually interviewed Jones-Drew on several occasions and he is a solid citizen and a great football player, a combination the NFL needs right now to counteract all the bad publicity from the players with off the field problems.

How do you explain the rise of Kansas City this year in a tough AFC west considering the holdout of Johnson and the QB issues you have up there. Is Johnson playing at full speed yet? How good do you think this Dwayne Bowe will be? Will KC finally get over the top to rule the AFC west this year? To what do you attribute that success?

B: Good points. I think it might be a bit premature to say that Kansas City is experiencing a rise. As you so eloquently put, "it is a long season." The Chiefs have been in the race for the AFC West title in at least eight of the last nine years. Their problem has been that they've been the opposite of balanced; either really good on D, horrible on offense, or vice versa. Heading into last week's game against the Chargers, the Chiefs defense was ranked fourth in the league, which is indeed a rise, but they were second to, if not dead, last a mere five years ago. This improvement is attributable to a defensive-minded head coach, a proven bull as defensive coordinator and good D-backs/D-line coaches. All of this, of course, is supplemented by young, talented players that go to their first and second training camps with this corps of coaches, as opposed to a handful of has-been free agents that've "learned" a mixture of systems throughout their career.

To me, Johnson's holdout was always a non-issue. yes, he may have been up to full speed sooner than now (which, by the way, I think this Sunday will prove that he is), but he's a top-tier back; missing camp saved him a bit of wear and tear. the quarterback issue was, in my opinion, also a camp issue. Herm wanted Brodie to win the job outright, but he did not, thus Damon got the nod, and has performed well.

Regarding Bowe, I was really stoked when we took him in the first round. I honestly think he has the ability to match Chad Johnson/Steve Smith-type numbers down the road. it's certainly something to be excited about now and look forward to. Regarding Kansas City's season outcome, you never know. They were picked by most to finish third and some to finish last in the division, and that certainly still could happen. I don't think the Chargers or the Broncos are anywhere near finished, regardless of all the issues they have going on, and I don't think the Raiders are quite ready to contend for the title, either. But we'll see.

I think a lot of the Chiefs' success is attributable to their struggles to form an identity. Now that they have, to a degree, they feed off of it. They've got a strong D, and a capable offense with a few key figures in it that can really produce. I've always viewed the jags (of recent years anyway) in that same light. Del Rio's teams seem to mirror their coaches personality and game-day intensity, something that works well for them, and they feed off of that. is that a fair assessment? what, besides the switch to Garrard, the D and the tandem of Jones-Drew and Taylor do you feel are the team's strengths? Weaknesses?

R B., Jr.: I believe the strength of this team is that they view themselves as a tough physical team and want to beat up other teams so they know that they were in a game when they play against the Jags. i say this because the team, especially the defense, was embarrassed by the loss to Tennessee the first game of the season. they were also embarrassed by their play in the Atlanta game. They felt they had something to prove going into Denver. They did exactly that.

I think one of there biggest weaknesses is that they have trouble putting up a bunch of points on anyone. They sometimes let down when they get 14-21 points ahead of an opponent and let them back into games. They then lose a fair amount of those games. They need to develop a killer instinct and keep a team down once they get them down.

I think they have good athletes that can compete at most positions. That is why both their strength and their weaknesses are in the area of attitudes and perceptions. How they view themselves and their attitudes. They do lack at wide receiver and can`t seem to draft a good one. That is the only position of weakness on the team I believe.

Where do you think KC has the biggest need for improvement? What is the position that is most lacking on the team? Can Huard or Croyle lead the team to the playoffs this year? Do you think they need to find another QB or do they have what they need at the position?

B: KC's biggest area for improvement is on the o-line, specifically the right side. We lost Wille Roaf and Will Shields to retirement in consecutive years; I don't know how you can replace guys like that. Damion Macintosh, if he can stay healthy, is a stellar left tackle, but he's very ginger. John Welbourn and Kyle Turley on the right have proved to be terrible. To me, that's the key for the Chiefs right now: they need more protection in the passing game and more lanes opened up for them in the running.

And as I said, I feel that their quarterback situation is as good as it's going to get. Damon Huard is awesome for what this offense is trying to do. If he doesn't cut the mustard, Croyle will be great too, as long as he has protection.

B.R., Jr.: I am hoping the team that played Denver is the one that shows up this week. the Jaguars are 1-3 in games following the bye week and I am hoping that this week the trend changes. Good luck and here's to a good game and no injuries on either side.

Bankmeister: Jacksonville 17, Chiefs 14
Bobby Rach, Jr: Jacksonville 21, Chiefs 17

As you can see both of us were slightly off in our predictions but we both picked the Jags which actually eased my mind about the game. The Jaguars are 1-3 coming off a bye week and it made me a bit jittery about the game. The other thing is last year the Chiefs beat us 35-30 last game of the year last year to keep us out of the playoffs.

The offense looked good. Maurice Jones-drew exploded for 82 yards rushing and 30 yards receiving. Fred Taylor had 51 yrds rushing and Greg Jones added 14 yards to the total of 156 yards rushing for the day.

David Garrard had another productive day at the helm. He was 20-27 for 218 yards 1 touchdown and again no interceptions. He has protected the ball like a completely different QB from last year.

The Defense came up big and held Kansas City to only 10 yards rushing for the game. They held the Chiefs scoreless for the game until at the end the chiefs got a td that had no meaning in the big picture of things. That let down had no affect on the outcome but it is another question mark as far as letting a team that was totally dominated for almost the entire game score when they should not have done so. Overall it was a good performance considering past history coming off a buy week.

The real question seems to be can the Jags improve everyweek from here? If they do they could contend this year and if not it will end up in disappointment again we will have to wait and see.

The Jacksonville Jaguars won the second game of the pre-season. They did so in a not so stylish or decisive manner once again. The starters on the offensive side of the ball did not look polished individually and as a whole.

Byron Leftwich was not impressive with 6 - 16 for 67 yards and no touchdowns. He looked a bit out of sync as he overthrew Dennis Northcutt twice on what would have been big plays. His lackluster performance is starting up another quarterback controversy among media and fans already.

David Garrard played decent in his third showing this pre-season. He was 6 - 7 for 97 yards and a touchdown. He seemed comfortable in the pocket. It was obvious that the signal caller had a clear understanding with the new offense while executing plays well.

Quinn Gray looked acceptable in his first action this pre-season. It was surprising considering he was playing with what had to be a heavy heart. Unfortunately, his father passed away Thursday morning. He finished with 3 - 5 for 44 yards.

The fans that are already calling for a change in the starting quarterback don't seem to understand the new offense system of the Jags and also the NFL. When it comes to the Jags the most undecided position, it is wide receiver. This means they are trying different combos and attempting to get everyone playing time. Clearly the coaches can then properly assess which players to keep and which ones to cut or move to the practice squad.

I will be interested to see who makes it through the first round of cuts and who is let go. It will be interesting to see if the coaches are willing to finally admit that Reggie Williams is a bust and if They might try to get something for him or if cut him outright.

The defense had trouble with perennial All-Pro Brett Favre. He was cutting the secondary up in his time at the helm. It just shows that the defense still needs some work to get back where they were last year. One positive aspect was the defense came up with 5 sacks in the game. There was also an interception returned for a touchdown by Brian Iwuh.

As I said before winning is always nice. The Jags did just that in a non exciting manner. It is only pre-season. It just shows that the team, although they are getting better, still have a ways to go. I can only hope that it all comes together before the season begins.

One thing I hope they don't forget is the power of their running game that took them nearly to the playoffs last year. A strong running game is something all teams usually want. They should also remember that despite the excitement of a passing attack. We need the passing attack as a supplement to the team to get us over the top this year and help us make a solid run in the playoffs.

We all know the pre-season record doesn't matter. Regardless, it still feels good when your team wins a game.
We all know the pre-season record doesn't matter. Regardless, it still feels good when your team wins a game. It has been a long offseason and I imagine for all NFL fans out there, we are glad it is over. Even though the Jags won their match up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, there are some problems that arose from the win.

The biggest concern I see is the injuries that occurred during the game. The pre-season is mainly for the evaluation of the players on your squad. The other main goal is to get through without any injuries.

The Jags sustained three injuries in this game. Reggie Nelson hurt his ankle and needed to be carried off the field. Chris Naeole tweaked his knee a bit. However head coach Del Rio said had it been a regular season game he would have still been on the field. Better safe than sorry in pre-season. Standout backup defensive tackle Tony McDaniel also had to be helped off the field. These are major concerns for the team.

Another major upset was the slow start on both sides of the ball. In the first quarter Leftwich was 2-of-6 for 12 yards in three series against Tampa Bay's first-team defense. Jeff Garcia ran the first team offense well against the Jags' starting defense. It allowed Tampa Bay an early lead when he scrambled right and found David Boston in the end zone. Garcia finished 6-6 for 43 yards and a touchdown. The slow start needs to be addressed in the next game.

Another disturbance as far as I am concerned is the way the team let up and permitted the Buccaneers back into the game. It has been an ongoing problem for the Jaguars for a quite a while now. They have to develop a killer instinct. In addition to learning not to let teams hang around and work their way back into games. This will bring about the early end of the season for the Jacksonville Jaguars if it isn't dealt with decisively.

The offense picked up the pace in the second quarter and the numbers came around. The Jaguars ended up with 154 yards rushing and 231 yards passing. The main positive aspect at this point in pre-season is that none of the quarterbacks have thrown an interception. This is a very positive sign for the passing game which had to improve this year in order to carry the team to the next level.

The defense picked up their game as well. The only problem as I mentioned previously was that they laid back and eventually let the Bucs score 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter. This is an unacceptable stat that must improve or it will cost the Jaguars' future games without a doubt down the road.

the Jaguars played their first preseason game on Saturday night August 11th. The outcome was not what most fans desired, but the team did accomplish what they set out to do. The coaches got a good look at what could be coming this year with the new offense and they were able to see and get a preliminary assessment on players at all positions. Overall the Jaguars looked very good. As the preseason continues on the Jags will improve and we can look forward to a great season this year i predict.

A First Look At The Jags In Action
--Robert Bach, Jacksonville Jaguars

the Jaguars played their first preseason game on Saturday night August 11th.

The offense seemed to do quite well with the new system and considering the need for improvement in the passing game things look good. The running game was used more to get the backs a few good hits and to keep the Defense honest. The passing game took center stage even this early.

Byron Leftwich showed why he is "THE MAN" in Jacksonville. He was precise and his passes were crisp. Byron ended up with good stats for his time under center. He was 7 of 10 for 78 yards and 1 touchdown. He only threw away one pass and the two other misses were passes dropped by Matt Jones that should have been caught.

David Garrard cemented his position as the number two Quarterback with his impressive performance. He was 12 of 16 for 153 yards. Although he did not pass for a score he ran the new offense very effectively.

Lester Ricard was a pleasant surprise with how well he did in his first action. He was 6 of 9 for 85 yards. He showed why he was worthy of a spot on the practice squad last year and a shot to make the team this year.

The only disappointment of the Qb`s was Tim Couch. He looked like he was out of football for two years. He went 2 of 4 for 11 yards and seemed uncomfortable in the pocket. Hopefully he can do better the next time around if he lasts that long.

The one glaring problem was the Offensive line. They looked unsure of assignments and tentative. Tony Pashos got beat to the corner several times and gave up a big sack on Leftwich. Hopefully coach Tice can get the O-Line on the same page and bring them to a more consistent effort.

the running game took a back seat to the passing game in the Jags first game. The only thi ng that really stood out for me in the running game was LaBrandon Toefield coughing up the ball twice. That definitely wasn`t the image he wanted to portray to the coaches considering the amount of competition at the RB spot.

All eyes seemed fastened on the passing game. Everyone was hoping for an improvement over last years dismal performance in the passing game. Well, judging from the first game i am betting we will see a drastic improvement. A combination of the new system and coaches with the amount of speed brought in at the receiver position will bring about a big improvement.

The ball was caught by thirteen different receivers in Saturday nights game. Toefield led all receivers with 4 catches. Broussard had a good outing with 3 grabs for 66 yards. Matt Jones was inconsistent as he had some nice grabs but he also had some big drops. It was great to see the ball being slung around and successfully at that.

The Defense showed why it is the strength of the team. It held Miami to two three and outs with the first stringers. They then substituted the second string in and they held Miami to 0-9 on third down before Miami coul;d get going. The defense will be as always the power of the team.

Scobee missed a game winner and Adam Podlesh booted punts into the end zone nullifying any field position the Jags had a chance at. The team looked good and it was a great star regardless of the score but they do need a lot more work to get ready for the season.

my opinionated take on the Jaguars prior to camp really ramping up for the new season

An in Depth Look at the Jacksonville Jaguars
--Robert Bach, Jacksonville Jaguars

As Training camp starts up I wanted to look at what I believe the Jacksonville team may look like. This will attempt to set a preliminary depth chart for the Jags. I will try to explain my thoughts on each position and the battles I see taking place. We will start at the top with the Quarterbacks.

With the start of the season Byron Leftwich is right where he should be at. He is "THE MAN" in Jacksonville. He has the biggest and most accurate gun of all the QBs on the Jags roster. He also has the biggest heart of the QBs and is a true leader in my opinion. This season he will prove to everyone that he deserves the starting job. He will finally have a few targets that actually get open and can run. With that plus the emergence of the running game in Jacksonville he will lead the offense to the playoffs once again.

David Garrard had his chance to permanently take over the starting job and his meltdown at the end of the season showed why he is a backup QB and not a starter. He may have done slightly better if he had better receivers than provided by the Jaguars last season. David has heart too jus in the fact of overcoming Crone's Disease and surgery to get back into uniform. He is a back up right now in my opinion.

I am worried a bit about Quinn Gray. He was placed on the PUP list. I thought it was a minor problem until today when it was announced the Jags went out and signed a free agent QB. Quinn this year I thought might have a chance to unseat Garrard at number two. Now I question if he will even be with the team come start of the regular season.

The new guy on the block is free agent Tim Couch. He was not much of a starter but he may make a good backup who knows. He may be there to light a fire under the guys we do have and he may be there because Quinn is hurt worse than I figured.

Let us now move on to a running game that was great last year and looks to be even better this year. The Jaguars are deep at running back. They have the one two punch of Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew. They will, barring any injury, be the starters. Greg Jones will be returning from injury, there is also Alvin Pearman, LaBrandon Toefield, Derrick Wimbush, Montell Owens and undrafted rookie D.D. Terry. Competition for the roster spots should be intense this year at camp.

Now we can look at the spot that all eyes will be watching this year with great interest. Ten players in all make Wide receiver a highly competitive position. Reports from the first few days of camp have veteran WRs Matt Jones and Reggie Williams working with the second team. I am not sure if they have been relegated to second team as a result of the injuries and lack of production on their part or if it is an attempt by the WR coach to motivate them to produce more on the field.

Mike Walker, Dennis Northcutt, and the surprise from spring Charles Sharon ran with the first offense. Regardless of the reasons, Walker was impressive these few days of camp and will have a chance to continue to show off his abilities.

Veteran Kyle Brady is gone so that opens up the Tight end position for someone to step up and show they can handle the blocking duties and maybe even catch a ball or two. It is now time for Mercedes Lewis to step up and show he was worth the pick the Jags used on him. They have Jermaine Wiggins and Greg Estandia at TE also. George Wrightster is still recovering from Labrum Surgery. Estandia`s size may make him ideal for the Jaguars TE slot so keep your eyes on his progression through camp.

The Jaguars are so deep at O Line that there are teams waiting for the cuts to come just to take a look at the players Jacksonville lets go. The starters are tackle Tony Pashos joining guards Chris Naeole and Vince Manuwai, center Brad Meester and left tackle Khalif Barnes. The remaining spots will be highly contested among these players, Maurice Williams, Dennis Norman, Dan Connolly, Ryan Gibbons, Stockar McDougle, Richard Collier and fifth-round draft pick Uche Nwaneri, and Seventh-round draft pick Andrew Carnahan.

How good the Jags Defensive line is depends on how well two key players do after suffering ankle injuries last season. The Starters most likely will be Reggie Hayward, John Henderson, Marcus Stroud, and Bobby McCray. Stroud is recovering from an ankle injury and Hayward is recovering from an Achilles tear. Provided they do well the other players in the possible rotations are second-year man James Wyche and pass-rush specialists Brent Hawkins and Kenny Pettway and veteran steady Paul Spicer at Defensive End. The Jags have Rob Meier, Tony McDaniel and fifth-round pick Derek Landri backing up Stroud and Henderson at Defensive Tackle.

The Jaguars are solid at Linebacker. Mike Peterson is returning from a torn pectoral muscle. Daryl Smith and Clint Ingram are the other Starters. Justin Durant has been compared to Timmons signed by the Steelers and should compete for playing time. The rest of the Linebacking crew are Nick Greisen, Tony Gilbert, Jorge Cordova, Pat Thomas, Brian Iwuh and rookie Chad Nkang. Jacksonville should have no worries at linebacker at all.

The Starters at Defensive back are set and the only question is can Gerald Sensabaugh and rookie Reggie Nelson replace Deon grant and Donovan Darius. That question will only be answered as the season plays out. The backup safety is Josh Gattis and he may even push for some of his own playing time you never know. The starting corners of course will be Rashean Mathis and Brian Williams. The competition after the remaining DB spots will be between Terry Cousin, Scott Starks, Dee Webb and Chris Roberson, Jamar Landrom, and Rashod Moulton.

The Jaguars Kicker is Josh Scobee and their punter is Rookie Adam Podlesh. The Punt retuner will be Dennis Northcutt. The Kick returner will again be Maurice Jones-Drew. The highest level of competition will be on coverage teams as players will try to add to their value to the team by being strong on coverage. This may end up being where a few players that may have been cut find a home.

This is where I see the jaguars right now and we will see how all of this pans out as camp continues. I am actually looking forward to a great season for the Jags and I expect along with a lot of others here in Jacksonville no less than a playoff berth and a possible run at the big game. We will see how those expectations play out soon as the season is fast approaching.

An in Depth Look at the Jacksonville Jaguars

my opinionated take on the Jaguars prior to camp really ramping up for the new season

A Short Talk with Maurice Jones-Drew at Audi Jacksonville

I had the opportunity to attend a personal appearance by Maurice Jones-Drew on
Thursday, June 21st. He was there to unveil the new Audi R8 sports car at the
grand opening under the new ownership of Audi Jacksonville.

I was able to talk to the idol rookie running back for a brief amount of time
and asked him a few questions. He was a very personable young man and quite
approachable considering he is well on his way to superstardom in the NFL.

We discussed the feelings, thoughts and anticipation regarding the upcoming
months where "America's Sport" will be back on the field. Maurice Jones-Drew
said, "I am looking forward to the season." I asked him if he was ready for camp
to start. He replied, "I am ready to get out there and I am excited about camp.
Once camp starts, the season isn't far off. I am really ready for the season to
start."

I don't think the average fan realizes that last season his numbers were so
impressive across the board that he became the third best all time in all
purpose yards. That is an awesome feat of skill for a vet, but for him to do
that as a rookie is absolutely amazing.

He is a class act. The NFL, along with the Jaguars, really need to find the
players of this caliber both on and off the field. It would allow the public to see players, such as Jones-Drew as
the "Face of the NFL."

Maurice Jones-Drew represents the Jacksonville Jaguars and I believe many
players should emulate him. With only one professional year under his belt, he
has made a strong impact on the team as well as the Jacksonville community. He
has made me proud to be a Jags' fan. I know there is an opportunity for him to
become the fresh young vision of the Jaguars' future.

In this era of Adam "Pac-Man" Jones and Tank Johnson as well as others who are
repeatedly in trouble with the law, and players with egos like T.O., this is the
kind of young man and player any parent would love to have their children look
up to as a role model and hero. I really appreciate the time he spent with me
and it is obvious that Maurice Jones-Drew is undeniably a superstar in the
making.

Wide Receiver Dilemma in Jacksonville

I have heard that new wide receivers coach Todd Monken is challenging his players to take their games to a higher level, and the number of WR's vying for a roster spot is making it easy for Monken to make his point.

Free agent addition Dennis Northcutt is providing a strong example of the work ethic and veteran leadership. The other members of the WR club with the Jags are Reggie Williams and Matt Jones, veteran Ernest Wilford, hold-over Charles Sharon and rookie draft picks Mike Walker and John Broussard.

My personal opinion is that Reggie Williams was a bust when they drafted him and I have been proven correct so far. Looking at his performances so far he has a lot to prove in order to earn a roster spot this year.

Matt Jones has great athleticism, but he has had injury problems so far in his career. He has to prove he can handle the strain of the season without getting injured. He has great potential but in order to realize it he has to be healthy.

Ernest Wilford, to me, is the most productive of the receivers and is almost guaranteed a spot on the roster as long as he continues down the road he has been on since he was drafted.

I don`t know much about Sharon. He was Bowling Green's all time leader in Receiving Yards and Touchdowns. He has a lot to prove in order to earn a spot with the Jaguars. according to reports from the Jags OTA's he did just that and showed great potential.
Considering all Mike ( Skyman) Walker has gone through already and his comeback season from knee surgery at UCF, he is bound to become a major offensive weapon in the Jaguars aresenal.

I also do not know very much about John Broussard. I hear that he ran a 4.34 at his pro day workouts and that is all I heard. He also has a great task ahead of him to make the team. He can with his speed if he has the hands and discipline to go along with that speed.

My opinion is that the odd man out this year may end up being Reggie Williams. He hasn`t proven anything to me and has had the opportunity to do so many times. That is where I stand on the WR stiuation for the Jaguars
