Another Conference with Riley and Rowell coming up in person

As most of you know the Dubs organization held a conference call a few weeks ago with season ticket holders so that they can answer any questions that fans may have concerning the direction the team is headed. It was quite informative and good to hear from the front office actually speak to their beloved fans...

Anyways I just got off the phone with my sales guy again (8th time after season end) as he wanted to see what I thought about the call a few weeks back and then informed me the Warriors are having a forum that will be held in person Wed. 6/10 @ 6-8pm in Oakland with about 100 or so selected season ticket holders with guests. He said the forum will let the holders be able to ask any uncensored questions to the GM and Prez without Fitz screening the questions... uh oh! There will also be another one held the next day 6/11 not in Oakland... I forgot the city but it started with a "D" haha sorry guys.

Geez so what do you guys think about this? I'm scheduled to go to the one in Oakland and my sales guy said I can bring 1 guest for now but I can call him back to schedule even more friends to join if I wanted. I'm not sure how the selection process was but I guess I was lucky? One thing I know for sure, I'm going ALL OUT when I'm asking my question!

I really like the way the organization is handling themselves this off season. It seems they are finally learning from their mistakes and trying to interact more with their knowledgeable fan base. There really hasn't been a day where I haven't thought about the Warriors and I'm sure there are others here the same way so it's great to see the front office do these kinds of things. Maybe next they'll hold a poll to see which player we'd like to see be drafted!

Conference Call coming up with Rowell and Riley this Thursday

So I just got off the phone with another warriors sales rep and he was trying to get me to renew my tickets again for like the 5th time even though I made it clear to them that I didn't have any interest in renewing for the next season. He asked me what in particular I didn't like and I told him I wasn't happy with the direction that the team is heading: we just got a new controversial GM, it seems like the front office only cares about money and not winning, the team we have right now isn't cutting it, I didn't get much in return with this investment... he then replied and said that there were plenty of holders in the same situation as me so Larey Riley and Robert Rowell are holding a conference call that is being moderated by Bob Fitzgerald for season ticket holders only on Thursday 5/21 @ 1:30pm where they would take phone calls and answer any questions that we may have. They want to make sure the fans know the direction the team is headed...

This really just seems to me they are in a huge hole with ticket renewals and they need to try anything possible to get them back because at the end of the call my rep told me he's still holding my seats even after the renewal deadline was way back and I told him I didn't want to renew.

This conference call could be a great way for GSOMers to voice their frustrations!!! I know I'm going to try. Who else is going to try and join in on the call? Anyone have any good questions to ask these two?

For those who aren't holders you can listen to the call within 24 hours after the event on the warriors official site.

Enough of this drama, lets look to next season!

So ok I'm pretty tired of seeing all of these drama for your mama posts. I know the teams in a pinch right now but come on guys they are obviously trying their best to fix this team for next season. They are through with this season - Nelly, Rowell, Cohan, GSOM, we all can't wait for next season. So lets look on the bright side on what is happening now.

The young guys are getting more play time; something that all or most of us wanted ever since December. We are tanking... no matter how you look at it, its happening. We may get a future star in the making - and all this talk about getting a true PG and what not I really hope we get Stephen Curry. It's ok if he's the same size as Monta, he's going to be crazy in the NBA when he actually plays with guys that have talent like him. #1 scorer in the country and has greatly improved his passing game.

The youngins getting playing time is really going to help us for next season and it's also going to help with determining who we are trading/cutting. Think of the Blazers.

So lets look at the lineup that I would like to see and please it may be controversial but no matter how you look at it, these are the guys that are the best and have contracts with the dubs for at least 3 years. Oh and you know Crawdaddy is out already so lets trade him for a CENTER!! YES A CENTER! since there are no centers with our draft position and we only have 1 TRUE center.

PG: Monta

SG:Jackson

SF:Buike

PF:Turiaf

C:Biedrins

6th:Maggs

This lineup would fix all of our height problems / rebounding problems / defensive problems...or at least greatly improve it, it would also hopefully make our team flow alot better. I only say flow better because these guys have TREMENDOUSLY improved their passing game this season and know we need to pass to win games and rebound the damn ball. Yes I know Nellies style is we need at least 4 guys that can shoot 3's and spread the floor... but really? Look at the Celtics ; they only have Pierce and Allen that can shoot the 3ball. Rondo, KG, Perkins cannot shoot a 3 at all. Really the only problem here on defense would be Monta but so what we have the brick wall in the back and once he blocks the sh*t outta someone we can finally get that one man fast break going again. And while Turiaf is in the air we have Biedrins there to block out and rebound that ball or Buike fly high and put his 30 inch arm on a not so lucky opponent and snatch it down.

SOOO..... what do you guys think? Ready for next season yet? "We Are Ready!"

ps. sorry for the long post, I missed class already so I needed to do something that I'm interested in =)

Monta for Boozer?

Since Monta "wants" to be traded do you think Utah would give boozer up? I mean come on, Paul Millsap is putting up pretty much the same numbers; all he needed was the playing time.

Think about it...Crawford, Jackson, Maggette, Boozer, and Biedrins. With that kind of squad were going to be for sure looking at a legitimate playoff contender. Our bench would be sooo deep still and we wouldn't have such a young squad out there for our starters.

Now for Utah they would have Deron Williams, Monta, Ronnie Brewer, Paul Millsap, and Mehmet Okur. That would be one hell of a team too. Now of course I love Monta, but what if... What do you guys think?

Monta Addresses his Scooter accident

So Monta finally talks to the press about his scooter accident. This was posted on ESPN insider. Here are some quotes from Ellis.

"While management and I do not agree on their actions," Ellis said in the statement, which was addressed to "My Community, Friends and Fans," "I want to be clear that my injury is based on my mistake in judgment. And I always accept responsibility for my actions."

"I am working hard to get back on the court and help my teammates and coaches win many games and recreate the playoff atmosphere of 2007," Ellis, who averaged 20.2 points last season, said in the statement. "We were as excited on the court as the fans in the stands."

"The Bay area has become home to me and I love everything about this community," Ellis said. "I see the kids wearing Number 8 in the arena and around the Bay area and it always brings a big smile to my face and a sense of pride and responsibility."

Mullin and Warriors coach Don Nelson disagreed with the harshness of the penalty, which was levied by team owner Chris Cohan and team president Robert Rowell.

Ellis, who sustained a torn ligament and high-ankle sprain in the accident, is currently rehabbing at the Warriors' practice facility in Oakland. Fried said he is ahead of schedule and that he is expected to return to the court in mid-December. The Warriors' six preseason games count toward Ellis' 30-game suspension, so if the penalty is upheld, he will be eligible to play on Dec. 15th in a home game against Orlando.

So... all in all... YES!! He's ahead of schedule!!

So today they are playing the almighty Portland Trailblazers. These guys look like they can do some serious damage in the west this season. They have bodies that we don't do too well against. But does anyone know the channel this game is going to be on? I checked my guide list on directv but couldn't find the KGW channel anywhere. KGW is Portlands local station and its being broadcasted there... or does anyone know of a stream?

Bored... Pre-season line ups

What do you guys think would be a fun line-up to tryout during Pre-season? I haven't seen many new threads so been bored.

Lineup 1: PG:Anthony Randolph SG:Jackson SF:Magette PF:Harrington C:Biedrins

I think I heard Randolph started as a pointguard but then all of a sudden freakishly grew 5 inches or so. Ultimate matchup problem for the other team... It would be fun to see the warriors have a tall line up and not midgets... This would be a very versatile lineup and maybe Beans worked on a mid-range jumpshot over the summer like he said he would.

Lineup 2:PG:Williams SG:Magette SF:Jackson PF:Hendrix C:Harrington

Sort of a weird lineup but I think Hendrix would be able to compliment Harrington pretty well. For some reason I have high hopes for Hendrix. Hopefully he can be the bruiser we always wanted.

Lineup 3: PG: SG: SF: PF: C: let's hear what you guys think.

Monta Ellis - 08-09 starting pg

Monta is one of the most talented players in the NBA and honestly I don't think anyone can guard him 1on1. Monta can score on anyone and well Nelly knows that so of course he wants the ball mostly in Monta's hands. It's almost automatic for Monta to shoot that mid range jumper and he can blow right past anyone and fly to the rim. He is arguably the fastest / most explosive player in the NBA and that can cause some really nasty matchups. The Warriors are all about scoring and Monta brings that. So what if he doesn't have true pointguard skills? After the first month of the season he's going to draw so much attention that someone is always going to be wide open and anyone on our starting squad can finish. He's going to get so many assists by just driving the ball then dishing under the net. To all the people that keep saying Monta shouldn't play point, are you saying you know basketball more than Nellie and Mully? Obviously they are sold that he needs to play point so just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. It's Monta's team now so get use to it! I know most of you wanted the ball in Monta's hands towards the end of the season anyway... And plus... Baron really only shined in the open court. Once it became a halfcourt game he always jacked up stupid shots anyways and rarely passed the ball.

Why isn't anyone talking about CJ Watson? This guy put up beast numbers while he was in the D-League and honestly... Basketball is basketball. If you can put those numbers up against people that know the game, then you got game. He put up 26.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists with 90% freethrows. Yeah I understand he's small but wow 2 inches smaller than BD and without the ass. Hes got way better bball IQ than Ellis at the point and he can knock down the 3. Hes cheap. I can see him as the next Rondo and surprise everyone. I can already see the article with Watson on the front page.
