AFN Fan vote
I am jealous. I ask Chief fans and no one responds. Broncos fan writes the Denver Post and gets in the paper to help their fans. No Chiefs fans serving overseas?
AFN game choice
AFN is running a poll for which game they will show on Sunday. Any Chief fans with AFN access, can go and vote. Currently, the Chiefs are in the lead (doubtful it is Bills fans). Personally, I can stream the game using nfl.com game pass but there are lots of soldiers out there that can't

Upgrade at C?
When will the draft take place?
One thing completely over looked in the issue of decertification and lawsuits is that Von Miller is a named plaintiff. Why is that important?
What The CBA Extension Tells Us
[Thought this was an excellent write-up on a confusing topic. I'm not sure what it means when our readers blog better than I do. -Joel]
The extension in the CBA tells us that the owners believe that de-certification is more leverage than their tool the lockout. The reason for that is during a lockout the owners really lose nothing. In fact they probably come out ahead by paying staff and coaches less. The owners had wanted the CBA to expire so they could get out from under the jurisdiction of Judge Doty.
So the real question is: why would the owners agree to extend the CBA when their plan was to let the CBA expire?

Ward hits the NFL hard
Was going to Fanshot this one as a quote but had too many quotes to do that. Hines Ward just missed a great slam that might have sold the point the players have made about the NFL not really caring about player safety. I will make that point he missed here....

Quick offseason preview
We need some upgrades on this team....Quick look at two positions we have a big need for with who might be available.. Clark made some big loot this season and I believe resigning Hali is the biggest move left to make for the team.
Things I didnt like in Today's game
The call on 4th and less than 1.
At that point, a QB sneak was the only thing that made sense in my book. I applaud the call to go for it, did not like the play call.
Lack of screens and draws.
The Chiefs havent been great at running these plays, but I felt that they setup other things in the passing game.
QB play.
Cassel played his worst 2 games following the game against the Titans where he looked every part of elite.
Haley's decision to challenge that first down.
Terrible call on that one. Spot challenges almost never work and I dont know what they saw, but it looked like a first to me live and on every replay.
The refs...
The refs had a very pro Raven day. They allowed the Ravens to hold the entire game on offense and also ignored the cheap shot the Ravens took. Good example is they call that BS call that only Brady gets on Hali, but let the Ravens hit Cassel in the head at least 3 times by my count. Also with the crap near the end of the game, Ravens were hitting after the whistle and it wasnt until the Chiefs started to retaliate that they gave some warnings. I am not saying that the refs cost us the game (I believe Cassel did that) but played a part in the blowout.

Cincy can kill off the Chargers
The Bengals can finish off the Dolts today.. That means giving the Chiefs the AFC West title and a home playoff game! This game is big bitches Chief fans! We can relax a little bit next week against the Raiders. Not that winning every home game isnt a big deal, but would relieve my stress next week. Looking for some good comments during the game.
Matt Dodge, Deon Grant, and other NY Crap
First off Coughlin was way out of line. He had a lot of asses to chew in that second half and anytime you are relying on a rookie you are setting your self up for failure. Blowing up on the kid at that point was crazy in my book. Read this quote from coach...
Josh McDaniels fired as Broncos coach
Never thought they would do it in-season but Haley finger-pointed and then finished him off. Can he do Norv in next week?
New designs for Chiefs Uniform?
Nike has announced that they plan to drastically alter team uniforms once they get the NFL contract back in 2012. Nike is claiming that this is not the work of their artists, but I find it hard to believe someone else did this just as a prank. I really doubt the Chiefs would switch their uniforms to either of the KC designs.

I am watching Iowa beat up on MSU... What are you watching?

Better watch out posting those links......
The Great, good, bad, & ugly
Well 10 hours on the road, 24 hours in KC (8 of which were at Arrowhead) and another 10 hours on the road I am finally home.
I haven’t seen the game on record yet, and honestly don’t know how much of it was recorded due to the Jets delay which got top billing but here are my thoughts…

Headed to KC
Finally home! After 4 very long months in the Middle East I made it home around 10pm last night. My traveling isnt finished yet as I am driving from Colorado Springs to KC to watched the blacked out game against the Browns. I somewhat feel bad for you fans in KC since you will be unable to watch the game. However, good seats are still available if you really want to watch it. I know I have done my part since I have a pair of season tickets and only get to go to one game a year. If anyone is going to the game and is setting up a tailgate party let me know as this long drive is a little too much for me to haul my grill. I will bring meat, chips and beers if you want to kick it. I know a lot of you disagree with how I feel about certain players (namely the QB) but we all want the same thing and that is a Chiefs victory. My email is bonesjackson@sprint.blackberry.net hit me up if you are down for having my lovely wife and me join your pregame party. If you include a cell phone number I will call you upon arrival to Arrowhead Sunday morning.
Things I would like to see at my first game being able to watch in the USA this season
1. Our QB to outplay the opposing QB
2. A big game from #25 (and no fumbles)
3. My wife' favorite player (#82) to get a couple of scores
4. A great defensive performance (would love to see Hali repeat his performance from the Donks game)

Is #25 out of his fricking mind??
In an article in the star today Jamaal Charles had said something that caught my eye. It was hard for me to believe since I was lead to believe that LJ was the cancer in the locker room and #25 is the savior.
Can the Chiefs run the table?
Any consistency on offense and timely stops on D and it is possible. We got the Chargers, Donks twice, the Bills, the Browns and Cincy. Cincy may have their position wrapped up by the time we play them but they got a backup running back that will try to show he still has tread on the tires. If we can win out, Denver and SD have tough schedules the rest of the way a division title is not impossible.
Of bad coaching and commentators...
I do have some comments about this coach and his decision making. I want to start off by saying that I am very happy the Chiefs won, I am just worried about it going forward and think that the Head Coach, The Offensive Coordinator, and the Defensive Coordinator have already cost the Chiefs games this season.
Is our Head Coach as stupid as he seems?
I am losing confidence in the new regime every day. I was reading Todd Haley's press conference and the headline is what came to mind.
Why?
I have completely lost all respect for the media. They report about this "petition" as if it is real. If they spent 5 mins reading the names and comments instead of just looking to see how many names are counted, they would see this as complete and total bull spit. I am waiting for Whitlock to come out and denounce the petition for what it is. When/If he does that, he will be the only journalist at the Kansas City Star. It is bad enough that Babb inserted himself into the story of LJ. Babb isn't a journalist, he is a blogger at best.

Since Johnson took over the primary rushing duties from Priest Holmes in 2005, the Chiefs have only been without LJ’s services for 12 games. The club’s record in those games stands at 0-12.
Week 7 Questions
The are several big questions upcoming for week 7. Several involve the Chiefs, their AFC West opponents, and former Chiefs.
For those that think that #31 is the goat of the Dallas game
The situation called for aggressive CB play and the truth be told, the offense sucked it up the whole game outside of 2 drives in the 4th quarter. With 10 points on the board and less than 100 yards on offense the defense did it's job. Half of the Chiefs points were scored with the Chiefs having a total of 23 yards on offense.
Cassel Clarification
Unfortunately some people do not understand or fail to read what was written so I will make my feelings on Cassel clear.
I want to start off by saying he played a much better game against the Cowboys, however there was still instances where he had the same problems I have criticized.
Who got the credit for the start at QB on Sunday? Did LJ get credit for his first QB start, or did they give it to Cassel? LJ did technically take the first snap of the game which would make him the starting QB.
Is It Time to Bench Cassel?
Is It Time to Bench Cassel?
Normally I am the most optimistic Chief fans there is. I am finding a lot of silver linings in the Chiefs season. That isn’t what this is about. This is about the primary failure of the Chiefs right now. Stats aside, just watching the games I felt that Croyle looks a lot more comfortable than Cassel. Brodie Croyle looks like a starting QB with his decision making, confidence, and pocket presence. Brodie looks like a young QB you would want to give $60 million to. Cassel on the other hand, looks unconfident, is making bad decisions, and completely lacks pocket presence. He looks all of a 2nd string QB. I believe that the Chiefs have a better chance to win right now with Croyle.
