I posted a comment earlier in the week regarding the ridiculousness of this article (http://www.revengeofthebirds.com/2010/11/17/1819423/revenge-of-the-birds-midseason-awards-defensive-mvp). In more or less words I said Andrew's posed question was B.S. and apparently this struck a chord. I did use the word shit in the post, but I have seen plenty of users including myself post much worse than this and never were they disposed of in such fashion. So apparently our fearless leader\dictator has turned to monitoring what is said from behind the scenes when it doesn't fit his agenda. I'm sorry I don't always choose to participate with the circle jerk sessions propagated by Andrew and his flock. Ya, I piss some people off sometimes and I also like to bust some balls and kid around. Not everyone likes me nor do I want to be liked by everyone. I'll leave that to the guys who are insecure with who they are and want to be every bodies pal! But to delete my post and not leave it for those who choose to read it is a chump move man. I've been a member of ROTB since the beginning and really deserve a little more than that. When someone brings something objective, informative, well written and interesting to OUR forum, I'm the first one to join in the banter. Part of what has always made this outlet "OF THE FANS BY THE FANS" so great, is the polarizing views of ROTBers about their favorite team. Whether it's AZretirees bizarre and half cocked rants, to Andrew's 5th grade grammar, everyone deserves their fair shake. I would have no problem with this policing if everyone who ever used the word shit had their post deleted, but obviously that is not the case. This may just be one post that was deleted, but where does it stop? Is this the systematic removal of anyone you deem oppositional to your point of view Andrew? ROTB fans, whether you like me or not, you should be bothered by this because this site is for US, ALL OF US, the everyday fan to voice their opinion and not be told what to say. If you agree with this let your voice be heard. Hell if you disagree with this let your voice be heard, but please don't stand by and let our favorite website turn to crap because the interim replacement turned dictator gets his panties in a bundle over critisism!

Where the fuck did you go Charles..? ROTB has officially gone to hell.. This loss tonight was ugly and we've established that. Besides the few random blips from the ROTB originals, this site has turned into regurgitated bullshit you hear on any sports radio show local to the valley. Mother F#%$^@# professing it as their own. Now we're subjected to half witted quirps tagging snapshots, "caption this sentence" and pretend they are funny??? If I laughed half as hard at the caption's of snapshots on this website than the attempt to write an article outside the 8th grade learning curve, I'd be happy, yet unfortunately this is yet to happen since we are under a new regime.  ROTB's shit is boring! Am I really longing for the Longwind, eh em, I mean Hawkwind days?.?.? Yeah I still love you Hawk... The objective, informative information we used to gather from ROTB has turned into Bill Schwarstki's super fans, and I think you are choking on the kielbasa! This Vanilla affirmation of each other's revelations regarding the Cards has drawn weary my friends, and lets start telling it like it is!   Calling all Cards fans, you rock that Boldin and Fitz Jersey for a reason! You like being the whipping boy of the NFL and you live for the conversation of justifying your teams validity come Monday morning. True Cards fans remember the harder days and are ok with that. It's as Al Pacino said in "Two for the Money" I play to lose! I don't know if it gives us credit when we finally do turn the corner, but we're proud of it either way. Can we please get something from ROTB that we don't get elsewhere??? Just saying... BORING!!!!

Tyler Palko played far better than Brian St. Pierre or Matt Leinart in last week's preseason game, but how many more preseason performances like last week would it take to earn a legitimate shot at the #3 or even the #2 spot?

Have we gotten anywhere with our official ROTB merchandise? I could put together the Prototype for "WWWD" what would Warner Do? shirt. I also thought we could have one that said "The Wonderful Whiz of AZ" or "In Whiz We Trust". Either way we all had some good ideas but we need to get cracking on it because Camp is right around the corner and we should all be rocking the shirts up in Flag. Let me know what was decided and who we are going to go through for the shirts. I think that website "Cafepress" is probably the best and easiest move.

Any new ideas? Please share...

I don't have the best understanding of how the salary cap will work in 2010 but if it means that teams can just load up with no repercussion, that’s lame! Say goodbye to each year having new, fresh team’s breakout in the playoffs. No more nail biting playoffs just the same "Bills vs. Cowboys" matchup of the early to mid 90's. I really hate this idea and I think it will lead to more inflated egos by players and teams a la “The Yankees” buying their way to repeat appearances. I like seeing guys take pay cuts to play with each other because then it shows me they don’t just care about their paycheck rather they actually just want to win as a team. Just my two cents, what do you think? Can someone clarify how the uncapped year is supposed to work?

Considering news is a little slow with off-season and no action in free agency, I thought I would post this question to our Revenge of the Birds faithful. Who? Why? When? There doesn't have to be any team allegiance on this one just be prepared to back it up if it is the likes of T.O. or Andre Rison etc.

I have brought the idea up to CG and personally would love to rock some Revenge of the Birds gear around Phoenix and at a game or two next year. It would be great advertising for the site and is something we could show homage for considering we have all helped ROTB become great. So here is my offer, I have a guy who did some shirts for a couple teams of mine who could probably hook them up if we had the design for about 12-15 dollars apiece. Would anyone else be interested in purchasing these? I also fully plan on attending Summer Camp in Flag and would like to rock the gear up there. With all the sports media swarming, it couldn’t hurt traffic. If this is totally lame just disregard but I think it would be pretty cool to add to the collection of Cards gear. Obviously we would have a vote on what the final product would look like and maybe even have everyone who is interested submit a concept and pick the best one.

Update: We have talked to the networks 'higher-ups' and it is ok with SBNation. We just can't use the Arizona Cardinals logo. Like Hawk suggested, www.cafepress.com is very useful and is free. We can create custom items for sale and make money off of them for the site. They also provide the shopping page for RotB. Of course the money would go towards giveaways and prizes. So here's the deal. I don't want to come up with the design on my own. So this post will be used as a thread for ideas, pics, or any other suggestions. If you have any questions email me, Hawk or CG. (Boog I know you have a friend who can do it so if you think that it would be better, let me know.)

I was working on the RotB standard logo to upload to CafePress and stumbled upon a limitation on my end:  I'm software disadvantaged for graphics.  The problem is the RotB logo is small and upon enlargement turns into a pixelated POS.  Ideally the logo should look clean as a 12" x 12" graphic so it looks good on a shirt.  I had erased the two cardinals under "Birds" and added a .com of similar type.  If someone with better software can tackle that "concept" and if anyone cares to present some other spinoff designs on the RotB logo, please post them in the thread or e-mail to one of us (CG, Andrew or myself).

I found a better site then cafepress. You can customize the products more for about the same price. Here is an example of just a text-only shirt. I used Boogatts idea of "Dont Flock with Us!" but added a "Dont Respect us?" to go in the front. We can always add more to them but this is just how they could come out.

Hey Cards fans, I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend, I know I must have gained a few waist sizes myself. With the week wrapping up and Thursday night’s disaster behind us, let's look to Sunday when the Arizona Cardinals take on the St. Louis Rams at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Card's keys to victory:

·         Ball control

·         Penalties

·         Special teams

·         Containing the Rams run game (Steven Jackson)

·         Give Kurt Warner time to throw the ball

·         Aquan bounces back after what could be his worst career game

I believe if the Cardinals are able to do these tasks effectively, we will win this game definitively and the score will reflect. The Rams have punched their clock on this season and are already looking forward to next year’s draft. If our beloved Cardinals are to make any noise in the playoffs, we absolutely can not drop this game to the Rams. Last time we played them in St. Louis; it was Tim Hightower’s coming out game so keep an eye on him and JJ because I think they will make some noise in the backfield this week.

So what are your thoughts on this week’s game? Who is going to have the biggest game on both sides of the ball?

 

 

Okay, so I know a lot of you do not even live in the greater Phoenix area, so disregard this post, but those of you who do I would like to extend the invite to meet up with us and play our 3rd annual Turkey Bowl on Thanksgiving. I am coordinating a friendly game of pickup Flag Football at Sweetwater Park just east of 75th avenue and Sweetwater. I will bring some flags from the school here and I am inviting all my buddies but if you got guys also interested in going invite them out too. We plan on showing up at 9:30 in the morning and if enough show up, might be able to have a good little tourney. What are your thoughts on the Leinart vs. Warner controversy. Obviously we have to keep Warner around while he's got a hot hand, but what do we do with Leinart? After listening to most of the knuckle heads on azcentral's posting I would like to hear from real fans. Do you think he will stay around if he is riding the pine like he is now? The ideal situation would be for him to stcik around and learn all he can from one of the greastest Quaterbacks to ever play the game for as long as he could. Sort of like Rogers did, but for some reason I don't think his ego will allow that.

We are behind two teams that we smoked back to back and the number three ranked team we lost by less than a touchdown at home to???

I think we at least deserve to be the best 4-3 team in the NFL maybe next to GB. To class us with the Broncos and Falcons is absurd and what about the Browns starting to wake up. They remind me of the Saints start last year getting off to a slow start and then making a run.

Boogatt checks in with a great fan post that I just had to bump to the main page. Optimism is always high during the preseason but there's just something different about this year....cgolden

It’s been the buzz of the Cardinals every approaching regular season for as long as I can remember, "This is our year.  This is the year we make the playoffs!"  That kind of optimism has only set a true Cardinals fan up for further ridicule and disappointment in seasons past. Whether it’s the Bears game in 2006 (I’m nauseous just thinking about it), or the surreal moment when Rackers came out to finish the game against the Chiefs with a routine chip shot.  You almost knew before the ball was kicked that he would somehow, nay, he would pull a Ray Finkle and blow it.  The laces were out RACKERS!  Yet this year has a different feel, or should I say vibe to it that has been circulating ever since the end of last season.  There is an excitement that is justified by the first non-losing season in 10 years, in which they seem to have picked up right where they left off at the tail end of last season.  We have heard nothing but positive things about the Cardinals since camp has started, from how promising our young first and second year players are shaping up to more seasoned players getting back in the shape of their careers to make a legitimate run for an eventual playoff birth.  It definitely starts from the top, and I think that we finally have the right chemistry between staffing and players to do something really special in 08-09.

Now I know it’s probably a tad premature to go spouting off any 12 or 13 win seasons at this point, but I am going to go out on a limb.  Barring another freak rash of injuries at key positions, I am predicting clinching their division at 10-6 or maybe even 11-5.  So let me pose a few questions to you.  How many games will it take for a playoff birth?  Who will win the NFC West?  Is this the Cardinals year, and if so how deep will they go?  Feel free to pull no punches and get as ridiculous as you would like.  After all, isn’t that the point!
