A Moral Victory

+

Pack are 0-1 for second straight season. But, there's a lot of positives to take away from this loss. Most importantly, a finesse team showed toughness and resiliency.

Training Camp - What to watch for

+

There will be a lot to watch for at this training camp. But, the most important will be the play of the big men on both sides of the ball. Read this to see why.

NFC Power Rankings

+

Lot of folks are swooning over the off-season winners, but fail to account for the subtractions and injuries that negate the alleged improvement. Packers are no. 2, as they should be. Which rankings did we get right, which ones are wrong? It's a fun debate for this time of year.

Packers Have a Running Game!?!

+

Stacked with newcomers Lacy and Franklin, and incumbent DuJuan, the Packers finally have a legitimate running game, which has significant trickle down effects to the rest of the offense and protects Rodgers in a roundabout way.

NFL Draft - Day 3 Preview - Who Do You Like?

+

The Vikings had such a good run on Thursday, that last night was literally a breeze. But today, oh today, the chance to fill a couple more holes. I am hoping at least one of the following guys: Kevin Reddick or Duke Williams. Both would be instant contributors to the team and continue to shore up the defense.

TT Just Can't Help Himself - Day 3 Preview

+

He just had to continue trading down. I don't understand it. He still managed to land great value in Lacy - an absolutely perfect fit for the Packers. And we have 10 picks tomorrow to get players at all three levels on defense. Here's our day 3 preview, which includes a rather astute breakdown of the top two kickers (b/c we need one!).

Another Draft Night Recap

+

What a night!! Sure, the Vikings may have drafted the second coming of Troy Williamson, but they did it with style. They also nailed their first two picks in the first round, snapping up a falling stud (Shariff Floyd) and a potential lock-down corner (Xavier Rhodes). All in all, a solid night for the Vikes. Check out more there.

Thompson Gets His Guy

+

Synopsis of how Datone Jones fits and day-2 preview, with two predictions, including a trade-up.

Another Draft Preview - With a Twist

+

There a lot of mock drafts out there for the Purple this year. Most of them have the Vikings taking a combination of LB/WR/DT with their two first round picks. This link just reviews a few of the potential guys (from Pipe Dreams to Resigned Fates) that we could end up with. Who do you like????

Packers Need to Hit in Draft

+

Despite regular season success, Packers recent playoffs losses reveal a team that still has many areas of needs. Read where the Packers will look to improve, plus a prediction of the first round selection, including a dream selection that would revitalize this DL.

Gopher Hockey: Primed for Pittsburgh

+

Goph talent and discipline should lead them to the regional final for an epic showdown against the Wioux. Read why the back-to-back is somewhat concerning. But, with Wioux looming, the Goph can/should advance.

In Ted We Trust. But...

+

There are two reasons why it's fair to question whether Thompson is the best man for the job of ensuring the Packers are in the best position possible to win another SB. Drafting-and-developing, by itself, isn't enough for this team. And, no, the answer is not being active players in free agency. The answer is spending money wiser in free agency and in resigning homegrown talent.

Tweetbag - Gophers v. Gators Recap

+

Frustrating loss for the Gophers against a beatable Gators squad. Unfortunately, Billy Donovan exposed Tubby's strategery and forced the Gophers into countless TOs. I mean, the Gophers struggled to execute an inbounds play from half court. The side inbounds is one of the hardest plays in basketball to defend and yet the Gators managed to stop the Gophers not once, but twice.

Tweet Bag: Gophers v. Nebraska

+

Check out the recap of last night's tilt against Diet Wisconsin in the Tweet bag above!! Gophers fall in a very winnable game. Team needs to recapture the identity it had when beating Indiana and spanking Penn State. They need to continue to get the ball in the post and pound it down low with Mbakwe and E Squared. Also, Tubby needs to tighten up his rotations. Mbakwe only getting 28 minutes is ridiculous. What are we saving him for?? Losses like this one crush their momentum as tournament time gets nearer. Not . Good.

Packers Leadership Void

+

Without DD and Woodson, the Packers have a leadership void. A young team just got younger. Two players must step up to fill this leadership void in the secondary and WR core. And two more players must assume overall team leadership.

Why the Packers Shouldn't Chase Revis

1

If Packers get Revis, a collateral consequence would be losing Raji because of cap limitations. This is a cost the Packers can ill afford because of the lack of depth on the defensive line.

Border Battle - Live Blog Through Your Tweets

+

Your tweets lead us through this Border Battle. Offense was optional. A missed shot clock violation - with photo proof - leads Badgers to victory.

Te'o: Steal of Draft for Packers?

+

A lot will hinge on the truth behind the hoax. But, if he slides to the Packers, he could be a steal. Guy was a pure game in college and won nearly every award possible. He and Bishop would finally form a hard-nosed ILB tandem.

Capitalizing On Irrational Confidence

+

This year's Gophers hoops teams seems to believe that they can hang with anyone. I really believe that this, more than anything else, is what will allow them to force their way into the national conversation. Their strengths (rebounding and defense) are supported by the stats, but their toughness and belief in themselves is seemingly endless. I think they get it done tonight against a very tough Michigan team. Any thoughts?

Gophers Dominate Illini

+

Gophers turning into one of the elite teams in the country. An impressive road win at Champagne was exactly what this team needed before playing IU and hosting UM.

Rodgers Chip on his Shoulder

+

Rodgers returns to Candlestick Park for the first meaningful time. What better way to remind SF what it missed in the 2005 draft than to lead the Packers to victory on their turf.

Viking Packer Preview

+

Well, the 3rd installment of this season's heated Packer/Viking rivalry is sure to be a doozy. I have to admit I am glad that Winfield and Robison are both going to be playing. Their health is critical to the Vikings chances of securing the upset this Saturday. That, and another monster game from AP. Though, I think we all just expect it from him at this point.

Border Battle, Round 3: Playoffs Edition

+

Preview with both the Vikings and Packers rube perspective. Takes from both sides of the river to get your ready for Saturday's finale.

2012 Year in Review

Good, bad, and ugly of the Packers 2012 calendar year.

Border Rivals Preview: Playoffs or Bust

+

Packers and Vikings rubes square off in this preview and prediction. Plenty of banter to go with key facts and stats to prepare you for this epic week 17 showdown.

Believe in this Team

+

It's time to believe in this team. Read how it is morphing into a juggernaut just in time for the playoffs.

A Defense of David Kahn? Do I Have To?

+

K. Love's issue with management is short-sighted and doesn't consider how his contract - short on max deal only b/c of the years - has set up him and the Wolves for future success.

Why Da Bears Still Suck: Jay Quitler

The Packers' Secondary

+

Shields return solidified the secondary against the Lions. Faced against the most prolific passing attack - statistically speaking - the secondary held up well, especially when you consider it got little help from the front-7. Read more to understand how.

Don't Let the Door Hit You On the Way Out

+

Though he was 68-24 overall, BB was an unimpressive 8-10 against ranked foes, 2-4 in bowl games, and generally pedestrian against other good-to-elite programs.
