Border Battle: Enduring the Ugliness

+

The Vikings Rube and Packers Roob live-blogged during the game to recap and analyze the ugliness that ensued. Injuries played another key role as the Packers barely held on.

The Missing Play-Action Threat

+

The once-dangerous play-action threat has gone missing. Read more on how bad it's gotten this season.

All You Need is Love

+

Love's unexpected return, along with JJ and Pek, showed the true talent and depth of this team. Even with a few key injuries still, this lineup has a lot of promise.

State of the Packers at the Bye

+

One word to describe this team at the bye: injured. Read more to learn how many of the 22 opening day starters are injured and whether this team can still earn a playoff berth.

State of the Packers at the Bye

+

Crazy stat from the article: Packers are without 10 of their 22 opening day starters due to injuries.

Would The Real Christian Ponder Please Stand Up?

1

Big game against the Seachickens this Sunday. It is going to be interesting to see which Christian Ponder shows up. I think it will be the guy we saw in the first four games. A game manager who does not make mistakes and marches his team down the field. I think we get a little Seachicken soup!!

Bucks Season Mega-Preview

+

Big question coming into this season: Can Monta figure out how to provide balanced performances that get his teammates involved?

Mega Pups Preview

+

Lots of questions for Pups and their fans this season. Can Pek make the jump and fill in for Love? What kind of production will be get from Brandon Roy? Will the AK-47/Robin Gibb hairdo catch fire in the Twin Cities?

The Impact of Woodson's Injury

+

The Packers are well-positioned to replace Woodson for the next six weeks.

Next Man Up

+

Mounting injuries on defense require the team to adopt the 'Next Man Up' mantra. There's one injury, over the others, that stands out the most to the success of this defense going forward.

Quarterback Controversy? What Quarterback Controversy

+

Big game this weekend against the Gophers! Hopefully the fact that we have selected a starter at QB, no matter how we got there, is the advantage we need to make it 9 straight!!

Axe Game Preview

+

The Axe Game should be a good battle this year. But, the Gophers hesitancy to name a starter (even though the decision might be made for them) and stick with that guy, could prove to be problematic. But, the Gophs are not alone. The Badgers have had their own problems. Unfortunately, the Badgers may have found their guy - if the play-calling expands. That could be the difference.

Badgers in Search of a Leader

+

Clearly, the squad has struggled out the gates. The 4-2 record is far from indicative of how poor this team has played to date. I believe many of the issues have stemmed from Bielema's lack of leadership. From firing the O-Line coach, to benching O'Brien, and then still keeping Stave on a tight leash with play-calling, Bielema has done little to instill the right environment for success to breed this season. For instance, if he makes the decision to essentially give up on O'Brien and his two years of eligibility, he must have the confidence in the guy thats replacing him to be able to, at a minimum, operate a two-minute drill. But, the leash has been tight when Stave has been under center, which seems to undermine the whole point in promoting him in the first place. I dive deeper into these issues here: http://wp.me/p29VCs-bH But, what do you think about Bielema's job so far?

The Golden Fundamental

+

Harrison Smith has been a steadying presence on the 2012 Vikings defense. Can he keep it up? Will the ball hawking skills improve? Personally, I think it is his ability to bring the wood that makes him so valuable. The Vikes have not had a safety like him since the days of Robert Griffith.

Announcing Their Presence With Authority

+

How excited are you about the hottest QB/TE combo in the NFL? Sure looks like we could be in for great things if these two can keep it up. Divisional game on the road will be a test for sure. Lions defense is by no means great, so we should get solid production out of both Ponder and Rudolph. I am excited!!

Sometimes You Just Need to Vent

+

After tonight's game, everyone needs to vent, and let off some anger and frustration. The game was decided by three equally terrible phantom calls.

The Evolution of Randall Cobb

+

Randall Cobb has quickly morphed into Percy Harvin-lite for the Packers. Read why.

Seeing The Forest For The QBs

+

I do not care if Joe Mauer straps it on for the Gophers this weekend! I am pumped that the squad is 3-0 and on a bit of a roll. Gray brings things to the table (dual threat) and takes some things off (accuracy issues). Golden Arm brings different things to the table (hand cannon) and takes other things off (immobile and young). I trust Kill and his staff to make the right call and get the most out of either kid.

Fork In The Road

+

Vikes have a big test against Stanford alum Andrew Luck and the Colts this Sunday. I, for one, think they will pass with flying colors. Look for the running game to pick up where it left off. As long as they can contain Mathis and the Colts pass rush, we should have no problem moving the ball.

What the Hell is Going On Out There?!

+

Problems persist from last year's defense. And to make it worse, there were some major coaching blunders that cost us some points.

Packers v. Vikes Season Preview

New Faces, Similar Results

+

Even with the coaching and players turnover, the Badgers looked like the front-runners for the Leaders Division - even despite the end-of-game meltdown.

Cracking The Twins Twitter Feed

+

Wouldn't it be interesting to see the tweets that do not make it up on the Target Field Twitter feed? Considering the state of the big league squad, I can only imagine what Twins fans have tried to say, in 140 characters or less, over the last few months. I am curious to see what other people may have tweeted to #MNTwins that did not make it through the censor.

Cedric Benson?!

+

Here's a detailed analysis as to why Benson is not a good fit for the Packers scheme.

How Much Improvement Do We Need from our Defense?

The defense must be better than last year. But how much improvement is needed? Of the past 24 super bowl teams, 14 fielded top-ten defenses, and only six teams were ranked worse than 16th. But, of...

Just How Good Does Our Defense Need to Be?

+

A breakdown of recent Super Bowl defenses and what it can tell us about the amount of improvement needed from the Packers defense.

Tubby's Move...

+

With Tubby's extension, this season is definitely an important one for the direction of the program. I think Tubby probably finally has the team that he thinks can make some noise on the national stage. Now he just has to execute.

Training Camp Primer

Key players development and training camp battles are highlighted. Plus, a few under-the-radar players are discussed.
