Antoine Bethea Injured....

Now free safety Antoine Bethea is an injury concern, too, after cracking a bone in his right hand Tuesday. Caldwell didn't sound especially concerned and said it will eventually be casted and he'll return when Bethea is used to playing with it.

Really... How many injuries can the colts have in camp. Maybe it is the afternoon practices. Maybe it is the horendous reputation of the colts medical staff. Maybe fate hates a horse.
I don't know. I just want everyone to be healthy.

The Indianapolis Colts' pre-draft evaluations include a first-hand look at 6-4, 330-pound defensive tackle Vaughn Martin from the University of Western Ontario. Martin was scheduled to visit Indy this weekend. Draft analysts consider Martin a raw prospect with good potential. He is projected as a mid- to late-round pick in the NFL draft April 25-26.

Storm causes damage at new Colts stadium

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Three roof drains in Lucas Oil Stadium sprang leaks when thunderstorms hit Indianapolis Tuesday night, leading to some water damage in a data center and other areas.

But stadium officials say the damage shouldn't delay the Aug. 16 public opening for the new home of the Indianapolis Colts. Construction work continued Wednesday, said John Klipsch, executive director of the Indiana Stadium and Convention Building Authority.

"At this juncture, no one's reporting that we're going to miss our opening dates," he said.

Some high school football games will be played a few days after the public opening, and the Colts are scheduled to play the Buffalo Bills in an Aug. 24 preseason game.

Klipsch said crews were still investigating how three of the stadium's 20 main roof drains leaked. It was too early to estimate the damage total or say whether problems stemmed from design, manufacturing or installation issues.

Crews had repaired the three fractured drain pipes by Wednesday afternoon.

At least a couple feet of water poured into the stadium's data room, which is below ground, after a drain on the stadium's northeast corner cracked. The room serves as a control center for telephones, Wi-Fi and Internet access and houses some recently installed computers and receiver components.

The roof drains caused leaks in three corners of the stadium. Ceiling tiles, drywalls and carpets were damaged. Water entered electrical boxes, telephone closets and several meeting rooms. It also reached an underground loading dock but caused no problems.

The $700 million stadium is scheduled to host the 2012 Super Bowl.

Hmmm...700 million dollars. If we were the Patriots I might be concerned to find our data room under water.

Nfl.com is reporting that Tyjuan Hagler has torn his pectoral muscle lifting weights and could miss training camp and the season opener as well.

Down goes Hagler

In Indianapolis, Colts starting linebacker Tyjuan Hagler suffered a torn pectoral muscle while lifting weights last week.

Hagler now is expected to be sidelined at least two months, meaning he will miss training camp and could be out for the Colts' Sunday night regular-season opener against the Chicago Bears.

Last season, Hagler started seven regular-season games and then the AFC Divisional Playoff against the San Diego Chargers. He finished the season with 54 tackles and one sack.

His absence sets up an intriguing position battle in which several other young Indianapolis linebackers will be given the chance to win additional playing time.

Clint Session, a fourth-round pick in 2007 out of Pittsburgh, shined in the limited opportunities he had last season; he now could get more. The Colts invested a third-round pick in Georgia Tech linebacker Philip Wheeler, and he is expected to be given his chance. Victor Worsley, an undrafted free agent from North Carolina, also will be given a shot.

But a bigger problem for the Colts might be the fact that they keep losing bodies before camp begins. With teams allowed to bring only 80 players to camp, Indianapolis will be somewhat shorthanded. Starters expected to miss some of camp include wide receiver Marvin Harrison, defensive end Dwight Freeney, safety Bob Sanders and now Hagler.
