Celtics win; Ray Allen loses
Celtics win!!!! But Ray Allen was 3-14 from the field for the night. Is that possible? He even missed 2 free throws! He was terrible from the floor all night. And, oh, did I mention he hit the shot of the game that won it for the Celtics? Paul Pierce fouled out, so they had to have someone step up in OT. Allen was 0-2 from the field in OT too. But Allen put up a 3 with 41 seconds remaining, and that was the dagger. Allen also had the pass with 17 seconds left that put them up by 4. Rudy Fernandez chucked up 2 threes and missed them both at the buzzer. Kevin Garnett also came back with fire and intensity, putting up 13 points. Pierce and Rondo combined for 43 points also. There were 45 3's put up in the game. Yes, 45! Finally, the Celtics get a win, as they look to win at home against the Clippers.
How will coach #15 do?
So, our new head coach is bff's with Billy Shaw, a HOFer. Great! Shaw is giving him some advise, and let him do it. He could've been a coach in his early years after retirement from the AFL. Gailey coached at Georgia Tech, and was very successful, as he led them to a bowl game every year. In 1984, he led Troy to a national championship. Yes, Troy was good at one point in history. He brings discipline along with success to the NEW Bills, as we are rebuilding.
Gailey=Greatness
Bills=Playoffs
Who's the DH???
The Story
Ok, here's what I heard. The Sox want to go without one designated hitter this year. The whole discision was thought up by Ozzie Guillen, and it's risky. It looks like they might rotate it, with maybe Rios and somebody else. But who? I don't really see anybody that can compliment Alex when he gets his breaks off. Guillen is now allowed to have 12 pitchers in the rotation, and that is what they need help in. There are some high ERA's in that bullpen, as they could make a move to get a pitcher. Greg Walker will have to work with Guillen on whether or not to go in to a new season with a DH or not.
My Opinion
Go in to the season with one DH. It's as simple as that. With Quentin in left, Rios in center, and put Juan Piere in right because of his speed and glove. That leaves Andruw Jones, and i believe he deserves a second chance. He was horrible with the Dodgers, but he comes her looking for a spot, and give it to him. He can hit, no question about it. try it out and see what happens!
Bears see Adams as perfect fit in their defensive scheme
Gaines Adams was supposed to be a Bear in the 2007 draft, but was grabbed before. The 26 year old started 29 games in 3 seasons for the Bucs. “He’s prototypical of what we look for in a defensive end, particularly on the right side,” Angelo said Saturday. “When you think of him, the first thing you think of is his athleticism, and obviously you have to have a high level of that to be a pass rusher in this league." In his first 3 seasons, he recorded 124 tackles, 13.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Adams was the 4th overall selection in the 2007 NFL Draft. Adams said he has heard great things about defensive line coach Rod Marinelli. Adams is going form and 0-5 record to being 3-1 also. Adewale Ogunleye and Mark Anderson are in their final years of their contracts, so Adams will step in there and try to rush the passer like, or if not, better than those two great players.
Bears utilizing Anderson's quickness inside in nickel defense
Bears DE Mark Anderson seemed very surprised when Chicago coaches told him to rush the QB for the DT spot. His opinion, “The first thing I thought was that I need to put on like 20 more pounds if I’m going to be down there with the big boys,” Anderson said with a laugh. Ogunleye and Alex Brown were both Defensive Ends in the game agianst the Pack. The Bears seemed to want lots of pash rushers on the field against Rodgers, and the bears look like they'll use Anderson inside again. Mark is a good pash rusher, and stopped the run with his quickness. I think Anderson is a great athlete, and can even be used at linebacker, now that Urlacher is gone. Anderson had four tackles in the game, and one for a loss. Last year, he was a disapointment, but I think this year will be different.
Napoli trying to recapture Fenway magic
Game 3, ALDS of 2008, and just when the Halos were down, Mike Napoli brought them up, belting two homers, and one was a walk-off. he also called 226 pitches behind the dish that night at Fenway. Game 4, and the Angels were gone, but that didn't matter. Mike Napoli was still a great hero in game 3, and the Sox were projected to sweep. As October rounds third and heads into home, Napoli is starting to heat up. And with the Angels getting a spot means Mr. Clutch is working even harder. Mike Napoli is my key to Angel post-season success, what's yours?
Pettite to skip turn in rotation
Andy Pettite kept pitching for us every 5 days, up until now. Pettite said that he just didn't feel like himself, so he'll miss his scheduled start. Does this mean that he's done for his career? No. He'll return Monday, so that means he's okay...for now. He's been one of the most reliable starters for the Yanks this year, 13-6 4.14 ERA, with 29 starts. Pettite is an all-time Yankee great, and he pitched the final game at the Old Cathedral. He lost his last 5 starts, and that looks like his arm was hurting him. As Playoffs are coming up, Pettite is trying desperately to stay healthy.
My Idea: Pitch his once or twice for the rest of the season, because he is known to be a very clutch pitcher in October.
What do you think?
Forcier, Michigan upset No.18 Irish
Tate Forcier...wow! A dropped Touchdown pass that should've ended the game, and he stayed calm and threw one on the next play! LaTerryal Savory dropped it, and should've had the game won. Eleven seconds left, and Forcier found Greg Matthews for the win in the endzone. It is one of the greatest game in the Notre Dame-Michigan rivalry in my opinion, and what a game! When Claussen handed off to Armando Allen on the Statue Of Liberty play, I thought it was over. But Notre Dame threw the ball instead of winding down the clock, and that turned out to be the deciding factor. Charlie Weis thought it was the right decison, but I disagree. Tate Forcier's 31-yard Touchdown run got Michigan back in it on 4th down, and that was huge as they won, 38-34. Brandon Minor also had over one hundred yards in the game.
