Hello my fellow warrior fans, its been a long time I should have never left you. A few weeks back I received a call from my friend studying in North Carolina and asked me to go visit. While I was out there she just so happen to invite me to a basketball game, knowing that I love the sport. To my surprise the basketball game that we were about to watch was the 2009 North Carolina Alumni game. Alot of current NBA players were there such as Vinsanity, Antawn and our/my favorite player Brandan "killed that s***" Wright.

As you all could imagine I was freaking the f*** out, I could not believe it. As for the game he was absolutely "freakinn" kids (love to Stuart Scott). It was blue team (that was his team) up against white team. Brandan did not start but was a major role in the game.

He entered the game in the first quarter with 6:50 left and looked a little bit bigger up top but what really stood out was he reallyyyyy got stronger at the base and legs. He hit three jumpers a little past the foul line, he had 3 or 4 jump hooks and a few dunks. The most impressive thing that I saw was that he was no longer getting bullyed around down lown, he was boxing out big guys like Haywood and some dude named Glover. He even showed some nastiness by grabbing Haywood from the jersey and slamming him to the floor to prevent a dunk. After the game was over the crowd stormed the court but I could not talk to Brandan, I couldn't find him amongst all the people.

I know most people wont beleive me, so I will post a transcript and pictures below: (pics come via NC website)

From the Dean Dome:

BW enters the game and immediately holds the block down against Brendan Haywood defensively. Haywood gets an open look at a dunk after BW helps out on the driving pg. BW says no, grabs Haywoods shoulders and throws him to the ground. Showing much improvement holding down the block against the bigger and more physical man. Although his upper body is only slightly bigger looking, his lower body looks bigger from my vantage point. Has no trouble boxing Haywood out.

Offensively he has cat like quickness with the ball and can get his shot off whenever he wants to against Haywood. He gets a couple of midrange jumpers to go off the dribble.

Antawn Jamison enters in place of Haywood. Jamison having trouble against the length and quickness of BW. BW gets a catch and finish and converts and impressive lefty running skyhook across the lane. That shot is unblockable, and so is his midrange j from the top of the key. These are 2 shots he can get whenever he wants.

The highlight of BW's game comes midway through the second half where he receives the screen and roll pass at the top of the key, takes one dribble, and throws down a lefty tomahawk over Jerry Stackhouse. It was a career ending dunk.

P.S. I could not post pics, but if you go to http://tarheelblue.cstv.com/view.gal?id=52875 you could check the pics out for yourself. There are about 4 or 5 pics of him.... I cant wait for this season.

Damn it Nelly you better play Brandan!!!!!!!

So as the roster stands at this current moment its apperant that Monta, Jack, Biedrins, Randolph will be our starters. So i ask ya'll the following: who will come into training camp and earn that 5th starting position? I personally hope Brandan comes into training camp "beef'ed up" and a chip on his shoulder and earns that spot. I can already hear people say Randolph is our PF but I still think he could play the SF.

I also want to know whats the deal with all the news on our players except Brandan? Has he dissapeared and joined some type of underground militia? So to pree or even my dude at cc times Marcus Thompson II, can ya'll schedule some type of phone interview or something?

So please vote and explain why you voted for that certain player. It will be fun hearing each others opinions and debating them, thanks!!!

I would like to start this post by first stating how much the world will miss Micheal Jackson. As a dancer I just wanted to mention he was my idol and he will be missed immensely. Anyways, with the recent news regarding Yao out for the season and the turmoil up in Phoenix, I have great reasons to believe our WARRIORS will be playing ball in early May. If this team stays as is, I beleive that we have all the ingredients to be an above 500 team contesting for the 6th spot. We have offense in (Monta,Curry,Jackson,) we have defense in (Beidrens,Wright,Randolph,Turiaf) and we also have depth in (Maggete,Morrow,Curry,Azabuike).

We all know that players get better with time and experience. That means that players like Wright,Randolph and Bellineli will come this season and be better. Last year injuries kept us out of the mix, but amongst all the losing Nellie was quoted as saying the locker room was always upbeat and tight. We all know what chemistry in the locker room equals to: winning ball ala We Beleive v1.0.

I am starting to beleive Nellie sees this aswell. He sees all the movement and players going down, so what is the point in ruining the chemistry? You already have players that know your system, why bring in someone new and have them learn it? The Warriors have been very quite in the Free Agency which leads me to believe that Nellie feels confident he can win with these players.

I see the standings shaping out this way for this upcoming season:

1. Nuggets (they're only going to get better)

2. San Antonio (w/ Jefferson they get fresh blood and revive there staggering offense. Timmy will have a big year)

3. Lakers (Ron will go crazy and bring so much drama that not even Kobe can control him)

4. Portland (young team that will continue to improve)

5. Utah (come on, what Jerry Sloan team is not competing for a top spot)

6. Warriors (young team w/ a great mixture of veterans and up and coming young stars)

7. New Orleans (w/ CP3 they will make it)

8. Dallas (ex warrior Dampier will have a monster year with 20pg,12rb. 2blk and keep Mavaricks playoff hopes alive)

Please feel free to make your predictions and let us know why. I will personally get my We Believe shirt out to the games this year, how bout you?

My beef w/ Nellie... Why do you dislike Brandan?

I open my post with the following question: Am I the only one here that finds this trade an utter abomination? Yes people I said abamination!!! I really dislike this trade in so many ways that is not funny. I also find that Don has a personal displeasure for Brandan and i dont know why, but I will get to that later on in this post.

I dont see why people here are veiwing Amare as the saviour and player that mystically is going to get us a championship. Yes I have heard various arguments that go something like:

Are the current players (BW,Marco,Andris) going to get us a ring anytime soon? Or my favorite: Amare is way better than those 3 players will ever be. I will like to tell those people that your arguments are pure hogwash (wow didn't see that one coming). Anyway, if the trade were to go down you get the following from Amare: 20-23ppg, 8-9reb, 1-2blk and a list of uncertanties health wise. Also important thing to remember is that you get that from one player!!!!

Now if the trade does not go down (which i hope) you get the following from Andris/Brandan 19-20 ppg, 14-15reb, 2-3blk. Those stats are from numbers they put up last year combined and who is to say they wont be better this year. The most important factor in this trade is that it would literally be a 4 -1 trade. Not only are you losing promising players but at the same time you are losing depth w/ playeres that already know the system. Remember, great teams not only have stars they also have depth.

Now, moving on. I really do beleive that Nellie has a personal dislike for Brandan. I dont know what it is or why but it is evident in the way he diminishes his shine on the court. Brandan is a heck of a player with fluidity and a sense of his limitations on the court, what is not to like about that!!! He doesn't turn the ball over and doesn't need the ball to score. Now if we are talking defense, hell Nellie doesn't play defense nor does Amare. So Nellie whats the beef!!!

Note: You will also be losing another 13-15ppg, 3-4ast, 1-2stl a game witth Marco/Azuabuike... So you do the math...

Similarities I see... how about you?

Well I like everyone here am watching these finals and cant help but notice obvious similarities with the Lakers & Warriors. I wont go deep into stats nor will I over analyze, i'm just going to compare both teams and the various similarities I see. It may be a bit cynical to say that the following similarities translate to winning ball, but it sure can help. So with that said let me proceed to give you what you need:

Similarity #1: Length: The Lakers are a very long team 1 thru 6 (Odom of the bench). Because of this length they are able to play the passing lanes and get hands on the ball. The Lakers aren't a shut down defensive team like Boston, but they are a great weakside/oppurtunistic team. This allows them to cheat on the perimeter because they have Gasol/Bynum to defend at the rim. Now to the Warriors. If there is one thing we have an abundance of on this team is Length. If our starters were to consist of moving Stack to the 2, put Randolph at 3 and Brandan at the 4 we would be equally as long. How could a team score on this Length?

Similarity #2: Atheleticism: Once again the Lakers are deep in this category. There C/PF (Bynum & Gasol) can both run the floor and Odom is a freak of an athelete ( 6'10 w/ the abilitty to handle the ball). This allows them to start the break and get an advantage over a defensive team that is not set. Now to the Warriors. I know you all are againts moving Randolph to the SF, but it would be extremely benefial on the defensive end. It would also allow him to grab a rebound and lead the break like Odom. He can be used as a post up player and facilitate from the low post.

Similarity #3: Bench that can score: How many times this year did we see Kobe sit on the bench and the lead increase. I for one know that happened all 4 times the Lakers played the Warriors this season. They have farmar, Vujakic, Odom, etc. This allows the starters to get an obvious rest and be fresh for the end of the game. Now to the Warriors. If Buike were to move to the bench that would give us 3 players that on any given night could put in 20 points individually (Morrow/Maggete the other two). Also Ronny would be our anchor for the second unit, something the Lakers dont have.

I know we dont have a Kobe that can take over a game at a moments notice, but we have a group of 6 or 7 guys that can also score. Plus, we would be better defensively with our length and atheticism.

Remember to win a championship is not all about scoring it's about defense....

Nellie... Is reality slapping you in the face?

Hey guys maybe I'm a fan of the old school, but as I watch these finals I cant help but notice Orlando's similar style of play to our beloved warriors playoff run. Our style was...run, run, run and shoot a bunch of threes. I hear all the time from these ex coaches turned analyst ( Jeff van Gundy, Mike Fratello, Doug Collins) and they all seem to say the same things: "Slow the pace down and get a good shot" or maybe "Attack the basket and dont settle for three's". Now how many of us have heard the saying "Defense is what wins championships" and I for one completely agree.

If we look at the two major sports (NFL & NBA) you will see a pattern of defensive teams beating out the more offensive teams. The NBA's past 5 champions include: Boston, San Antonio (twice), Miami and Detriot all whom were good defensively. Same could be said about the NFL with champions such as: Baltimore, Tampa and most recent Pittsburgh.

Now you may say that this years Lakers aren't a good defensive team and you may have a point, but dont overlook the fact that they have taken their defensive intensity to another level. It mostly is inbodied in the play of Paul Gasol and Lamar Odom. Last year they where being called soft and not committed, but this year they are doing a heck of a job on Dwight and getting after it on that side of the ball. How about Kobe and his re-commitment to defense? or maybe Phil Jackson starting Ariza over Lamar?

In conclusion what I'm trying to say is: Nellie if you are watching these finals, I hope you see that your offense tactics will never beat a solid defensive team. As the season goes on, those three's dont go in as much.

I will soon have another post stating the similarities that this years Lakers have to our Warriors. WE ARE NOT THAT FAR AWAY PEOPLE!!!!

As you all can imagine per my screen name that I am a HUGE Brandan Wright fan, love the kids game. My question to my fellow warrior fans is why the hurry to trade him? He showed great promise this season prior to getting hurt and even when he returned from his injury he dropped a 25pt,6rb,2blk game against philly. I hear everyone saying Anthony a.k.a (i ate a bag of sour skittles) cant play alongside Brandan but I disagree, if anything i would think they complement each other vary well. I remember the game against atlanta where Brandan & Anthony were on the court together, it seemed like atlanta couldn;t score and the warriors increased the lead.

I hope next years lineup looks something like this

C Andris

PF Brandan

SF Anthony

SG Stephen

PG Anyone except monta ( this league has proven that little guards dont win championships: example Allen Iverson)

What do ya'll think.......
