Athletics Nation Gabe Gross signs w/ Oakland.

Hey All,

Just thought it would be good to have a new post that has absolutely nothing to do w/ Hanley, thread etiquette, or speculation now that its offish, and the fish was delish.

Link to Lee's article w/ the deal in detail.

So who gets the axe?

Cassavah, Buck, Miles, or Eveland?

Been a pretty exciting off-season and it looks like there's still more to come!

I can always delete this too, but it's getting difficult to navigate the old post.

Athletics Nation Who are the people in the upper deck portraits?

Many times during a game at the Coliseum I've found myself wondering who the portrait paintings were of just outside of the 'smoking pen' in the upper deck around 206. I've asked a few folks over the years but no one has been able to answer the question.

I was thinking the other day after lamenting the many long months until the next A's game, why not ask the good folks at AN.

Its rather sad/ odd given the rich history of the Athletics, Oakland and Philly, that there aren't many ( or any, asides from the mystery paintings? ) historical displays, stat facts, or baseball ephemera at the ballpark. It would definitely be in the interest of the owners dying for new ballpark to give fans a taste of the past and present glory of the team.

However it is a good thing that one only need to stumble over to AN to get some of what the Coli' is lacking.

Sorry if this topic doesn't quite warrant its own fanpost but I didn't want to hijack another thread. ;)
