Remaining Raider Fans - What's Right About This Team
I live in the Los Angeles area. 5 years ago you constantly saw cars and trucks with Raider stickers, guys wearing Raider gear.
Sightings now are down 50%+. A lot of those guys are now sporting Charger bolts, a few are in Steelers gear, etc.
But the diehards remain. The other Sunday I saw a truck on the road with two Raider flags, one on each window. It was right after another 30+ point blowout loss. He'd probably been to the Fullerton Raiders game watch site, and strapped on his flags for the trip there and home, win or lose or lose or lose.
That's a fan. We are what fans should be - there like a wedding vow. It's hard, and beyond unpopular. You can get laughed at now for wearing Raider stuff (not usually to your face given Raider fan reps for not taking that too well).
So give yourselves some credit me brothers. While so many of your fellow "fans" now wear the clothing of the opponents that happen to be winning - until they start losing (watch Steeler Nation depopulate now) we soldier on.
Pleading, hoping for change, mad as hell, but there. Still there. Always will be there.
13 1/2 point line vs. Dallas? I'm taking some of that
Dallas has only scored 14 points in it's last two games.... and they make our Raiders 13 1/2 point dogs? That demands at least a token bet, just on principal.
It was clear to me after the Cincy game how much having hope means to even the pros in the NFL. Football is such an emotional game.... it was clear the defense was just beaten down watching Russell go 3 and out , 3 and out, 3 and out..... knowing they'd be back on the field AGAIN after 3 lousy offensive plays.
Without hope your QB cares or has a clue, without any confidence your offense can score more than 3 - 10 points for the entire game, it's tough. Even a pro that wants to do his best for his team and to earn his pay, will lose that little bit.... and in the NFL losing that little edge is all it takes.
Watch out Dallas - we got hope!
No Further Comment Needed
"The quarterback's position is 90% mental and 10% physical. I try to simulate the game as much as I can in practice and visualize every play and every defense we could see. In essence I'm playing the game over and over so that no matter what situation happens, I've already played it and can anticipate what will happen."
Jamarcus Russell?
Actually, no. Quote by Drew Brees. Who stands a hair under 6 feet and weighs 205 pounds after a large meal.
