Post Tour Crit Aalst: familiar faces?

Before the traditional post-Tour crit in Aalst, there was a 'celebrity race', with mostly former pro's (and some ladies from a tv show). Meyerken (who finished 6th) posted some pics of the event on his blog. Have a look and find out who's aged well and who hasn't. In case someone's interested in the results: Peter Van Petegem won ahead of Ludo Dierckxsens and Willy Teirlinck. Linky link

Live by the river?

Live by the river? Hey PdC Londoners, I need your help/advice. A friend of mine got lucky and found a job in the Belgian House during the Olympics. He'll have to work during daytime, but he's hoping there'll be plenty of time left to ride his bike before or after work. He will either bring his roadbike, or his trackbike, depending on the options in and around London. He'll be staying close to the Belgian House, which will be located in the Inner Temple in the heart of London. So, what are the options for someone staying in that area? I imagine they won't let him ride on the olympic track. Is there another track that is open to everyone? What about riding in the countryside around London? Are there easy ways in and out of the city? On behalf of my friend: 'ne grote merci!'
