Do the Broncos have enough to dethrone the Colts?
via a323.yahoofs.com
Is there something that McDaniels isn't telling us? What's the secret sauce behind the recovery from the 4-game losing streak?
They did beat a contender in the NY Giants...I will give them credit on that although the G-Men were in a little rut and still not playing their best ball.
They just routed the Kansas City Chiefs yesterday 44-13. I'm always a little uneasy when they play at Arrowhead, but they put the beating on them and showed they are capable of putting big numbers on the board.
So what's consistent with McDaniels' winning ways?
Here's the last two games:
Versus Giants: 138 to 57 total rushing yards in favor of Denver...held G-Men under 300 total yards for offense.
Versus Chiefs: 245 to 94 total rushing yards in favor of Denver...held Chiefs to 222 total yards of offense.
So the Colts are a totally different animal than the Broncos are used to. The offense as we all know revolves around Peyton Manning. The Colts don't need to be effective at running the ball to win. Hell, they're only averaging about 87yds/game which is good for last in the league. How are they 12-0? They're defense isn't overwhelming their opponents...at least they're not stopping anyone from putting up big yards. The key thing is they are stopping their opponents on the scoreboard. They're only giving up 16.8pts/game, but so are the Broncos.
The Broncos are going into this week with the 3rd ranked defense against the 4th ranked offense. What is the key to stopping Peyton Manning? Simple...keep them from converting on 3rd downs. The Colts are #1 in the league at 3rd down conversions at 51%. This will be the difference maker and momentum stopper for critical Colts' drives.
I went to...Broncos vs Ravens
I know what you're thinking...this is another fan just ranting some nonsense after his/her team just experiences a loss...or in this case the team's first loss of the season. I think the Broncos do have quite a few areas to improve on. I just would like to see the Broncos offense match the intensity of their defense...once the two gel, 13-3 will soon become a legitimate reality.
The main reason I'm writing this is because I had the distinct pleasure of going to this past Sunday's game in Baltimore where my team the Broncos visited M&T Bank stadium. The weather was horrible...cold and rainy on the way up there and stopped before the first half was over. We sat in the 100s under the awning so the rain luckily wasn't a factor.
Okay, Denver lost 30-7 and the MSM is probably writing them off and claiming the previous 6 game winning streak was luck or whatever they're saying now. Honestly, I don't believe the score was indicative of how the game went and can be misleading for those who didn't watch the game...basically I think the game was won merely by field position and a lack of aggression in the part of Denver.
I will say two good things about the Ravens: Joe Flacco and Ray Rice. A young, mature, poised quarterback is exactly what Baltimore has needed all these years...definitely the real deal. Even though Rice is a not a big back, he has got to have one of the best pair of hands on a running back in the game...he looks a lot like MJD of the Jags.
I'm just going to go down a laundry list of things I noticed in the game that I personally didn't like too much...
I thought Kyle Orton was very gun shy and just afraid to pull the trigger on some deep throws. Don't get me wrong, he did attempt some but Baltimore's secondary was playing with a purpose so it's not entirely his fault. Orton's bailout is the screen pass but he needs to zip them in there and quit throwing them as floaters. The defense can see that coming a mile away. The constant 3 and outs prevented the offense from getting into a rhythm and trying anything unusual (maybe some Wildhorse plays) It was frustrating to watch as a fan. I just wish Orton would show a little more emotion and creativity in his delivery of the plays...you see a lot of ‘animation' if you want to call it that from quarterbacks like Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, and even Drew Brees. I still think Orton can ‘manage' the game well but I'd like to see more emotion from him and rally his team a little better. Also, I didn't see much looks to Royal or Stokley in the slot which I thought could have spread out the passing game a little better.
The first half was a defensive battle and I thought it really could go either way. Both offenses were very hesitant and in my opinion both teams were just feeling each other out a lot which probably explains the constant 3 and outs. Both teams put the pressure on the quarterback and was stuffing the run at the beginning.
I have to say this...Seeing Moreno on TV doesn't do him justice when you see how elusive and quick he really is in person. Sure, he wasn't that effective in this game but you definitely can see the potential this kid can and will have in the future. I would like to see more usage of Peyton Hillis as a blocking fullback to help better open holes for Moreno or Buckhalter...I remember seeing too much singleback formations when a running play was called.
Brandon Marshall... I've been very critical of him from his offseason antics to his lack of effort at times on the field. I have been pleased with the way he seemed to have turned it around and how he's been working and coming through the past few games. A few things I didn't like that he may have been doing for some time, but I noticed more being at the live game. One: Marshall didn't seem to have enough moves at the line of scrimmage to throw off the Ravens' defenders...this definitely kept him from getting much separation. Two: Dropped passes...he had a couple critical ones if I remember and it irritates the crap out of me. Three: The thing that made me nervous and I noticed a lot more of in this game is how Marshall does not secure the football under his arm after the catch. He's trying to juke and gain some extra yardage after the catch but the ball is out in the open waiting for a forced fumble to happen. Sure, he didn't fumble it and I know he's done it in the past...With that said, you just can't do that against defenses like Baltimore and next week's test against the Steelers.
Eddie Royal...he's not a factor as he was last year period. I liked the way he showcased his special teams abilities against the Chargers a couple weeks ago but he was stuffed at almost every punt return against the Ravens and what the hell was he thinking taking it out of the end zone when he was 2-3yds deep? Okay, I can understand doing it in the first half when the adrenaline is pumping and he's trying to make something happen...just not after that when you can see the Ravens defense and special teams are obviously on their ‘A' game.
Overall it was a good experience...I was surprised at the turnout of the Ravens fans. You could barely spot out the few Broncos fans...I was decked out in some of my Broncos gear but was getting claustrophobic with all the purple surrounding us.
Either way it was awesome to see the team in person...too bad we didn't get the win.

Is there really a new Mr. October?
via www.yorkblog.com
Alex Rodriguez, the new Mr October???
Come on...why is there talk about him being in the same league as Reggie Jackson come playoff time? I'm happy...stoked even that A-Rod came through in the clutch in this year's ALDS, but we're not even close to being done yet.
The LA Angels are a much stronger and better team overall than the Twins. They had our number in the regular season and the past two playoff exits were owed to the Angels.
So why are people calling A-Rod a possible new Mr October? Kate Hudson? This douche wrote this article thinks so apparently. Click here. I think Kate Hudson's cool and all but I've probably seen more of her in the stands than I could ever remember seeing A-Rod's ex Cynthia. I know...moot point.
The way the MSM just creates stories out of thin air is ridiculous. I agree with this article that Jeter, if anyone, could be classified as the next Mr October. Click here: Article
He's definitely proven it over the years and 4 WS titles is enough validation.
Don't you think that the MSM is out to bury A-Rod? Are they trying to jinx him? See if he falls under added pressure? It's got to be right? Maybe cause it increases their readers/ratings?
Who is the X-Factor for the Yanks to win the WS?
Will Alex Rodriguez be effective in the MLB playoffs this year?...or will he ‘choke' again?
You know that's what the MSM folks will be asking, analyzing, and pretty much laying the additional pressure on A-Rod. I've been an A-Rod fan for a very long time and while he might have displayed good judgment in his personal life and again with the admitted ‘roid usage, but the guy definitely has talent and respected work ethic.
He missed well over 30 games this year and still managed to get 30hrs+ 100Rbis for the 13th time in his career. A huge accomplishment? Probably not if you're A-Rod...just another year in this league to him. Out of all the individual accolades and awards he's gotten, he's still missing that World Series ring.
I think he's definitely going to be the X-factor on whether the Yankees can make it to the World Series and win it. There are a lot of offensive weapons on the team and the pitching is really clicking right now. As in the regular season, I think the Angels will give them the best run, but I think they can manage to pull it off if A-Rod doesn't make key mistakes. I'm not only talking about at the plate...I've seen him half-ass some defensive plays, but I know he was favoring his hip earlier this year. Hopefully, he and the rest of the squad is healthy and ready to go.
Either way, I'm excited the playoffs are here...
Top ten celebrity guests that should host RAW
1-Mike Tyson
2-Macho Man Randy Savage
3-Chuck Liddell
4-Hugh Jackman
5-Sean William Scott
6-Quintin 'Rampage' Jackson + Mr. T <might be the best on the list>
To see the rest of the list, go here
I read the article and agree that the past crop of celebrity guest hosts have been pretty lame. There were a few gems here and there like Shaq, Trish Stratus, and Jeremy Pivens/Dr Ken combo. It's evident by the WWE booking Al Sharpton and Bob Barker that the celebs weren't exactly knocking their door down.
So it has been confirmed that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will host next week with his offensive line when RAW comes to PA. Not sure how that would be...this spot is needed by people who can get really animated and get involved in some action.
From that list above, I wouldn't have Vin Diesel, Hugh Jackman, or Peyton Manning. I think the Rampage/Mr T combo would be funny.
I personally would like to see these:
-Will Ferrell and John C Reilly
-Funaki (but he'd have to do it in Kung Fu voice the whole time)
-Busta Rhymes
-The English dude that hosted the MTV VMAs
Agree or disagree? Who would you have?
Oh Misery...how the Raiders love thee
So I came across this post game interview with Lowell Cohn and it went something like this:
Cohn: May I ask you a question? You were penalized for pulling a guy's hair. I've never in my life been aware of anything like that. Can I trouble you to tell me what happened?
Seymour: Did you see the game?
Cohn: I was there. Was it a mistake?
Seymour? It was no mistake.
Cohn: You were pissed?
Seymour: It wasn't no mistake, brother. Next question.
Cohn: Is there something wrong with the question? Why did you do it?
Seymour: You asked if it was a mistake and I told you no. Get out of here.
Cohn: Why do I get out of here? You don't like to talk about that.
Seymour: Get out of here.
Cohn: I'm not getting out of here.
This interview was with Richard Seymour in regards to him pulling Ryan Clady's hair during one of the plays. Is it a requirement to be a dirty player once you don the 'silver and black'? As a Bronco fan, you just have to love seeing the Raiders miserable. Sure, they're a division rival, but their whole organization from top to bottom and even their fans are what makes them so unlikeable.
Glad to get the 23-3 win yesterday either way. Here's the rest of the article if you want to take a look:
Let's not get too excited yet...
3-0 now...now reality sets in with Dallas, New England, and San Diego on the horizon before the week 7 bye.
I'm not trying to be a negative Nancy, but I don't want to get too excited quite yet and jinx them. Basically, I'd tone down the 13-3 talk that I've read in some columns after the Broncos fast start. Regardless of the dominance shown in the points scored/points allowed, there are still a lot of holes and inconsistency in the offense...I know, I know it is definitely understandable considering the team is still adjusting under McDaniels vision.
I'm not saying we're lucky to be at 3-0 but I'd be lying if I can say I predicted this. I'm surprised at how the players have started clicking and now appear to be on board with McDaniels' philosophy this early in the season. Mike Nolan has revamped this defense to the point where they're giving up a little more than 5pts per game. Amazing? That is a mere understatement. They've switched to a 3-4 defense and transformed Elvis Dumervil into a hybrid DE/LB which is probably more suitable for him anyways. DJ Williams has a compliment to him in Andra Davis at the LB position and Champ Bailey isn't the only star in the secondary since the addition of Brian Dawkins and Renaldo Hill. Dawkins presence alone and his veteran influence is exactly what this defense needed.
We must remember that we did just beat Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Oakland...teams we're supposed to beat. We're about to enter another echelon of teams from here on out where the offense and defense will truly be tested. I like how we have a 2 headed running back with Buckhalter and Moreno with an option for Hillis. I won't get ahead of myself, but we just might have the potential for two 1000-yd backs barring injury of course. Now, if Orton can improve his chemistry with Marshall and Royal, we could be in store for something special. That trio is really the key to the Broncos taking the AFC West division in a convincing fashion. Why haven't the Broncos utilized Eddie Royal more? (3 games-6 catches 42yds) He's nowhere on pace to his 91 receptions he got last season. I would have imagined McDaniels would want to use Royal more like a Wes Welker type in the slot...it's still early in the season and I understand Orton is still overcoming that finger injury.
Anyways, the rest of the regular season is going to be tough without a doubt...like I said, I'm not sold on this 3-0 record quite yet...we'll see when the Broncos see their first real test when they host Dallas next week...by that time I'm hoping Orton and Marshall have synched up enough for a break through game...after all Dallas' secondary is suspect considering they've given up an average of 303 passing yds/game in their 2 games this yr.
Could this be a realistic result against the Cowboys? Orton 25/37 321 3TD/1INT Marshall 6 catches 121yds 1TD
RAW, A FAMILY SHOW? HAS MONDAY NIGHT RAW LOST ITS EDGE COMPLETELY?
Bob Barker hosted Monday Night RAW last night. Think about that for a minute. Would we see anything extreme? Anything controversial? Anything overly exciting?
You're right...none of the above.
Who else thought he was only there promoting his new book "Priceless Memories?" Was it that obvious? Well, I guess previous celebrity guest hosts used their time to do the same thing.
I'm not really going to recap the entire Monday Night RAW show from last night. I'm going to give a quick rundown on what I thought sucked badly.
Bob Barker...Bob Barker...Randy Orton...Hmm...yea...Bob Barker
The show opened up as if The Price is Right game show was going on with Howard Finkel acting as Rod Roddy (the late Price is Right announcer) and called down contestants which ended up being Santina Marella, IRS, Chris Jericho, and Jillian Hall. Each contestant got their chance to 'win' a prize that ended up in some form of wrestling match.
Chris Jericho did have a confrontation with Bob Barker that was pretty funny...almost to the point that I thought Barker was going to start shaking and die out of fear...well it didn't happen and Barker actually held his own.
I just have one question...Has RAW really turned into a 'family' show? Since Monday Night RAW has changed its rating to 'PG,' it has toned down drastically and lost its edge. Last night, Santina Marella gets called out to the ring during the game show piece where he has a chance to 'win' a hot tub. Who else but the Bella Twins were in the hot tub in their bikinis! Santina makes a comment to Bob that he'd want to be meat in a Bella Twin soup or something like that to which Bob Barker replies with 'No, this is a family show!'
Sigh...it was just not funny having an 80+yr-old former game show host take the reigns of RAW and completely transform it into a big joke. Don't get me wrong...I loved Bob Barker as the host of the Price is Right, but he just wasn't right for this show.
Then Chavo, "The laughing stock of the WWE" Guerrero goes up to Barker all pissed he didn't get to win the Corvette. Barker punches Chavo in the stomach and does an Austin Powers judo chop to the back of Chavo's head. Are you shaking your head yet?
Lastly, Randy Orton...if you've read any of my weekly RAW posts, you might know of my disgust for this guy. He gets teamed up with Chris Masters and faces DX. After the match is over and DX takes their fight with Legacy out the building, Orton goes back into the ring to call out Cena. They go at it and Orton ends up delivering the RKO to Cena overtop of a steel chair. Orton's facial expressions and body language just disgusts me...he tries so hard to appear the bad guy through his ugly faces and robotic voice that it's painful to watch. He is talented at the skill portion of professional wrestling, but he lacks the charisma and mic skills that a Rock, Triple H, Stone Cold, or Ric Flair has possessed. I can't understand why he is still the WWE champ and why his reign is being stretched so long. The current RAW roster is just that bad right now...what do you think?
This Spongereport article was taken from here I hate RAW's PG Rating
Will the broncos be on the same page come opening day?
Denver Broncos preseason finale complete.
Final record in 2009 preseason 1-3
Brandon Marshall's 2 game suspension is now over.
My main question is this: How will the locker room respond to Brandon Marshall's behavior and attitude in recent weeks?
You know every player interviewed by the media will say the obvious: ‘We're all professionals here and we're moving on. We're glad to have Brandon back as he's a big key to our offense. We all make mistakes and learn from them.' Blah, blah, blah. I won't go on as you get the point.
You see what Marshall did is more than act subordinate and childish on the practice field. All 32 NFL teams in the league go through training camps and preseason for one main objective right? They're all evaluating their current roster full of vets and rookies, practice the OC and DC's game strategy/playbook, learn the new playbook, and make final cuts...you know prepare for the almighty regular season with hopes to reach the Super Bowl. Everyone on the team makes that journey...everyone does it with intentions to gain that edge, that team chemistry, and camaraderie. (Ok, with the exception of Brett Favre but I digress)
So, what are the veterans and leaders in that locker room really thinking? Will they handle it correctly and set Marshall straight or just welcome him with open arms and put it behind them?
Guys like Brian Dawkins, DJ Williams, Elvis Dumervil, and Champ Bailey...how would they feel and react to this? Is frustration or mistrust going to be an issue with Marshall? Is it too late and has the circle of trust been broken beyond repair?
If Marshall still hasn't learned the playbook by now, what good is he to the Broncos offense? I know I've said before that it may be too late to trade him considering the season is right around the corner. I know, but what difference is it if the Broncos bring in another wide receiver or even a defensive player in a trade for him? The new crew would still have to learn the ‘new' plays right? At least they would be willing and hopefully able to pick it up quick.
I do have a point here...I wouldn't depend so much Marshall being a critical part of this offense. I've compared him to TO on many occasions but like TO, he does drop passes more often than we'd like. He can and should be replaced. If not, I do believe the veterans in that locker room need to bring it together and build that team unity. Regardless if they like McDaniels or they hate him, there is one thing they all should have in common...the desire to win.
Blog taken from: Will the broncos be on the same page come opening day?
Brandon Marshall...sigh...will the saga end on a positive note?
What should Josh McDaniels and the Broncos do with Brandon Marshall now?
Suspended? Done.
Fined? Done.
Possibly on the trade block? I'm not sure he'll do that this late in the preseason...any team could use him but that wouldn't teach this young ‘prima donna' wide receiver anything will it? Besides, it's really too late for Denver to really get anything decent in return at this point in the season.
Josh McDaniels has shown toughness, sticktoitiveness, and no-nonsense attitude since he arrived in Denver back in early January. The ‘easy going' days that was evident in the late Shanahan era are over and a new sheriff seems to be in town. I'm still not sure everyone is on board with the change.
Change? A whole lot has been changed in Denver...people are typically resistant to change and there usually is a lot of rumbling and grumbling going on throughout the process. Something needed to be done and done fast because the Broncos' fans are deserving of a winning franchise. After all, they're arguably the most devoted and critical ones in the NFL. (My opinion of course) Whether they're winning or losing, you can count on the fans to pack Invesco field like sardines in a can. I can count maybe three other teams in the NFL with fans that express a similar type of devotion. (Green Bay, Kansas City, and Pittsburgh fans are fair equivalents)
Back to my main point...Shouldn't Brandon Marshall feel privileged to play for such a great organization? He has been a thorn in the Broncos side for the past few years with his off the field distractions. The Broncos have tolerated his behavior as much as they could. Why he would think the organization turned their back on him is beyond me. I personally think they have given him too many chances and was way too forgiving of his behavior. He's a great player and his abilities definitely give him the spotlight...at least he is achieves more visibility than his teammates.
This is the reason why he should be held to a higher standard...simply because he would represent an image for the team whether he wanted to or not.
Now, the problem is that he's brought the issues to the field. I'm sure you've seen the video of Marshall acting like a 10 year-old during practice...batting down a ball thrown to him, punting the ball away during drills...just acting like a complete jack-ass. If you're at practice, then practice. If not, get out.
If you are having problems in your personal life, leave it off the field. If you have contractual issues, deal with it off the field. If you have a problem with the coach, discuss it with him or stay off the field.
Once Marshall brought this attitude or form of insubordination onto the field, it's caused a disruption to the team and has affected the team's progression without a doubt. This is completely selfish and shouldn't be tolerated...I think he should have been kicked out of practice immediately and fined.
I've heard some NFL veterans like Mike Golic and Chris Spielman on ESPN's Mike and Mike radio show express their disgust at Marshall's behavior and even went to lengths to say Marshall would have been gotten the royal ass beating by the leaders in the locker room. You see that's the old school mentality that is lacking in the NFL. Does Coach McDaniels have that ‘inner old school' inside of him? Does he have that fire of a Bill Parcells or even a Mike Singletary in him?
McDaniels is taking steps in the right direction, but I got a feeling his battles with Marshall are far from over.

Denver Broncos secret weapon???

Nothing seems to be going right with the Broncos so far under McDaniels' short tenure. Okay, you can place some blame on his personal relation skills, inexperience, or just the bad luck of NFL injuries that strike a new head coach's roster.
You see McDaniels is perceived as the offensive minded genius that led the New England Patriots to a regular season record of 16-0 where they ultimately lost in one of the best Super Bowl performances in history to the New York Giants back in 2008. The offense put up an astounding 589 points that year with McDaniels as their offensive coordinator.
McDaniels was officially New England's offensive coordinator since 2006 but been with the club since 2001 so he knew and understood their system. He was also ‘responsible' for guiding Matt Cassel's towards success last year.
Tom Brady was a 6th round draft pick in 2000...Matt Cassel a 7th round pick in 2005...Did Belichick have an eye for late round gems and pass it onto his young pupil McDaniels? I hope so...
We just might find that out sooner than later.
Chris Simms, the backup to Kyle Orton just endured a high ankle sprain that will put him out for 2-4 weeks so Tom Brandstater moves up the depth chart. I've never thought much of Simms' abilities since his playing days with the college Texas Longhorns. He'll most likely see some significant playing time in the last two preseason games now.
Brandstater is a big quarterback at 6'5 with the strength and intelligence to match. According to his bio on nfl.com, he actually graduated from college before his junior status and was working on his masters at the time of the draft. This shows maturity, hard work ethic, and commitment...qualities and invaluable attributes that seem to be a rarity in young athletes these days. I'm sure these were key to McDaniels' reasons for selecting him in the draft earlier this year.
I'm really curious to see how this kid performs in the preseason...the way the NFL is with injuries and slumps, it could very come down to seeing Brandstater behind the center in a starting role. I'm not sold on Kyle Orton as Jay Cutler's replacement yet...there's just too much inconsistency there and his left handed gaffe last weekend was embarrassing and showed so much panic which I hate to see from a quarterback.
It could be scary...it could be another success story. McDaniels' short, yet successful track record might have some Bronco fans directly on board...I'm eager to see how this pans out so until then my ‘happy face' will continue to resemble that of Tommy Lee Jones. Your thoughts?

Anyone else bitter about the Jay Cutler trade?
Is there a reason for me to still be bitter about losing Jay Cutler to the Chicago Bears? As a die hard Broncos fan, should I be mad at the rookie, inexperienced head coach Josh McDaniels for making drastic changes to the Denver Broncos immediately after arriving to Denver? OR should I be mad at Jay Cutler for being a whiny baby, egocentric, hot-headed quarterback that got himself driven out of his best chance of winning a Super Bowl?
That's a number of good questions.
In his first three months, he dismantled the team by ruffling the feathers of our star QB in Jay Cutler who has a cannon for an arm and the accuracy to match. How can the Broncos Nation not be angry? His talent was reminiscent of old #7 himself. Come on...after having Brian Griese and Jake Plummer behind center since Elway retired, Cutler was a Godsend.
It was obvious that McDaniels came in wanting to bring along the players he was used to coaching and would best fit his Belichick-ish style...most notably Matt Cassel. Cutler's ego was hurt and irrepairable which is why we are we are today.
The hundred thousand dollar question: So why ‘fix' the NFL's #2 offense?
Now breaking down Cutler's professional won/loss record of 17-20 was deceiving with the Broncos because of the abysmal defense. The defense gave up a lot of points and cost them a lot of games. It doesn't take a genius to see that, but Cutler's record in college with Vanderbilt was 11-34. So a post high school combined record of 28-54 doesn't say much about this guy either...Hmm...but Vanderbilt has never been known to have a great football team. It's a school that focuses on academics...known more to produce doctors than pro athletes. Give him a break right? Maybe he's been a diamond in the rough everywhere he goes? It depends on who you ask I guess...
Now, does that take away from Cutler's skills and abilities? No, but there is no reason to rate him so high either. Maybe we were giving Cutler too much credit...built his ego too much by calling him the next John Elway...the savior to this franchise.
Am I bitter? Maybe a little bit...I mean I had started my collection of Jay Cutler memorabilia thinking he was going to be the face of the franchise. Now he's with the Bears...great! Good thing I returned his jersey before I got a chance to wear it. (I kinda had to since it didn't fit when I got it so that worked out in my favor)
What am I supposed to do? Get on the Kyle Orton bandwagon? It's hard to really, truly identify his talent or his capabilities since he had no weapons in Chicago. Then again, a good quarterback could turn mediocre receivers into gems. Just look at the films of Dan Marino, John Elway, Fran Tarkenton, Tom Brady. (I can't believe I threw Brady in the mix. Yuck!) Brady won those Super Bowls before getting Wes Welker and Randy Moss so you get my point.
Again I say McDaniels comes in and tries to fix what everyone and myself included thought was not broken...but can we honestly say the offense was not broken?
We lacked a running game completely...of course the entire rotation of running backs were hurt. Selvin Young was a bust. Ryan Torain and Peyton Hillis are the 1-2 punch combo I thought was going to be the key until they both went down with injuries.
The wide receiver tandem of Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal was awesome last year, but Marshall's off the field antics are not exactly representative of the team and its image. I totally agree with that. Not only that, Marshall is now pouting and voicing his unhappiness in Denver much like Chad Ocho Cinco did in Cincinnati. You see where that got #85.
The 30 turnovers committed by the offense last year doesn't signify excellence either. Something needed to be changed. It has taken me almost 9 months to get over Shanahan's firing and all the abrupt change...I'm not sold on McDaniel's vision yet, but I'm eager to see the new team's body of work.
Does that mean I'm now a fan of McDaniels? Not yet...I've got hope but he's still got the name McDummy until proven otherwise...
