Veteran tight end Desmond Clark, entering his seventh year playing home games at Soldier Field, was critical of the field in his blog in an entry titled "Our field is terrible.''

Last week we played on a field that was immaculate in Denver. We have only played one game at Soldier Field. We are basically the biggest market in the league and I say that because New York is split between two teams. Some of our opponents comments: "yall play on a cow pasture" "this is the [worst] field in the league"

It is 12 hours since the end of the game and I still feel my blood boil when I think of how NBC let Collinworth get up on his soap box to go on and on and on and on about Cutler. I watched the game muted for most of the third quarter just so that I didn't have to hear his voice. The final straw, '''if Shanahan was still coach I bet Cutler would still be QB and the worst of all ...this has got to be McDaniel's worst nightmare, watching Cutler go up and down the field...IT WAS ONE FREAKING DRIVE!!!!. And just how many *&%^&#$ cut-aways did the camera make to Cutler on the sideline deep into the forth quarter. No mention of how Brandstater was performing, nothing!
Will we (the True Bronco Faithful) be subjected to this week in and week out? If I hear the word Franchise or Pro-Bowl one more time my head will explode!

Sorry for the tirade but I am still completely pi$$ed.

1. Always try the really long field goal - it will build confidence in the kicker or determine his maximum range or stess the defense by giving the opponent the short field

2. Never kick short field goals - if the guy can't hit from 20, he shouldn't be in camp

3. Always go for 2 - see #2 and why not use the chance to run the goal-to-go from the 1 play

4. Run 75% pass plays - pass plays are tougher to perfect, they involve everyone whereas running plays involve primarily the OL and the atheletic ability of one RB, also RBs get hurt on running plays

5. Never ~~brag on~~ mention stats, passer ratings, scores.

It appears that Jay Cutler's friendship and admiration for the playing style and toughness of Steve McNair probably influenced his style of play, which is actually quite similar, and most likely lead to him signing on with Bus Cook. The rest is history.

What's not to love about the guy(s) McDaniels picked to run his offense?

Josh McDaniels joined the Patriots on March 1, 2001 as a personnel assistant in the scouting department and assisted the defensive coaching staff for three seasons. He began serving as the Patriots' quarterbacks coach in 2004 and was named offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach on January 20, 2006.

Positives: Good height to see the field. Very poised and composed. Smart and alert. Can read coverages. Good accuracy and touch. Produces in big spots and in big games. Has some Brian Griese in him and is a gamer. Generally plays within himself. Team leader.

Negatives: Poor build. Very skinny and narrow. Ended the '99 season weighing 195 pounds and still looks like a rail at 211. Looks a little frail and lacks great physical stature and strength.
Can get pushed down more easily than you'd like. Lacks mobility and ability to avoid the rush. Lacks a really strong arm. Can't drive the ball down the field and does not throw a really tight spiral. System-type player who can get exposed if he must ad-lib and do things on his own.

Summary: Is not what you're looking for in terms of physical stature, strength, arm strength and mobility, but he has the intangibles and production and showed great Griese like improvement as a senior. Could make it in the right system but will not be for everyone.
