TrueHoops and Chad Ford are both reporting Ainge is shopping the 25th pick. Ford is saying the Celtics could send a team Danny's trade exception and the 25th pick in return for a young veteran. I still hope Danny trades the 25th pick for a 1st rounder next year but if he can get a good young veteran in return I am happy with that also.

Like Jeff mentioned yesterday, the odds are strong that Danny trades out of the 1st round if he gets a trade offer he likes.

I have read that the pick we get from the Clippers is "top 10" protected in 2012 but I haven't read anything about whether the pick is protected after 2012. Does anybody know if we definitely get the pick in 2013 if the Clippers get to keep the pick for 2012? The Clipper pick we got yesterday will wind up being very valuable to Danny because he could potentialy draft a good or great player with it or use it in trade. Thanks for anyone who can help me out with this.

Regardless of who the Broncos hire as GM and who the new head coach is I think it is a safe bet that Kyle Orton will be traded in the off season. The new head coach will decide Tebow is his guy or the new head coach will draft his own quarterback, trade for a quarterback, or sign a quarterback in free agency so that leaves no place for Orton on the roster. The bottom line is that the new GM and head coach will decide that Orton is no more than a game manager like a lot of us on MHR have been saying forever despite the gaudy stats he put up last season and most of this season except for his pitful game in KC Sunday and that Orton is not the short term or long term answer and the right quarterback for the future must be found in the draft, free agency, a trade, or go with Tebow. I have no idea what the new regime will do with Brady Quinn but I am confident that they will trade Orton, probably for a mid round draft pick.

I am so thankful that Mr. Bowlen fired McDaniels and I hope Brian Xanders is the next to go because he has been a big part of the personnel decisions also. Yes, McD had final say on personnel moves but Xanders should have stopped McD from making some of the terrible trades and draft picks the Broncos made since McD took over but he didn't. I have no faith in Xanders making any good decisions in the front office so I hope he is fired at the end of the seaon also and Mr. Bowlen hires a quality gm to fix one of the worst rosters in the NFL and that the new gm will also hire a quality head coach. 

I need a big favor from any of you who are going to any of the 2010 Broncos home games. I have been ordering by mail the Broncos Game Day Magazines for about 20 years. I was disappointed when the Broncos marketing department told me they wouldn't be selling them by mail this year because I wanted to add all 10 of the 2010 Broncos Game Day magazines to my collection.

I would be real grateful if any of you that are attending any of the home games in Denver this season were willing to buy me a copy and mail it to me. I would be glad to mail any of you a personal check for your time and trouble. Also, if any of you have a copy of the Broncos Game Day Magazine from the pre-season games against Detroit and Pittsburgh that you are willing to mail me let me know also and I will send a check.

Last year at this time I started a prediction thread and said the Broncos would go 6-10 in 2009 and then the Broncos went and won 6 in row to match my win total in the 1st 6 games before the wheels came off and we finished only 8-8 but I will never forget jumping off my couch as Stokely ran down the sidelines against Cincy and the thrills the Broncos gave me in their 6-0 start and frustration in their 2-8 finish.

I think we are basically an 8-8 team this year that could go 10-6 with a few good breaks or go 6-10 with a few bad breaks. Well, unlike last season when I took the negative view I am being positive this time around and predicting we will go 10-6!! Orton will be better than I ever imagined he could be with Tebow coming in and doing great things in the "wild horses" package, the running game should be fine if Moreno and Buck and the offensive line can get healthy, and I am excited our wide receivers-especially Royal, Decker, and Thomas. Hopefully Thomas will get healthy and be a deep threat for us but Gaffney, Lloyd, Willis, Decker, and Royal are playing great now and Thomas will only improve the wide receiver play. I am concerned about our TE situation but hopefully we can get by with Graham, Dan G., and Quinn but I wouldn't be suprised if Quinn is cut at some point this season.

The key to winning at least 10 games to me this season is if our defense can be a lot better than last season. Can we consistently stop opposing teams running games and can we get a consistent pass rush with Doom out for the season? Hopefully yes will be answer to those 2 questions because we might be a 6-10 or worse if the answer is no.

But I am sticking with 10-6 and fighting for a wild card spot with several other teams. I think we will finish 2nd in the AFC West with the Chargers going at least 11-5.

So that is my prediction for our 2010 Broncos. I want to know how all of you think the Broncos will do this season. Can't wait for Sunday to get here!!

 Does anyone know when the coin flip is between the Broncos and Jags to determine who gets the 10th and 11th picks in the 1st round? Is it this week at the combine in Indy? I am sure most of us want the 10th pick but I wonder if Mr. Bowlen is secretly hoping the Jags win the coin toss so he can save a little money by getting the 11th pick instead of the 10th. I still think the Broncos will try to trade down in the 1st round anyway for extra picks but I still hope we win the coin flip.

For those of you who believe in the SI cover jinx I have bad news. Daniel Graham is on this week's cover. Maybe we can overcome the jinx and still beat the Pats Sunday!! Good to see we are getting some national recognition though for our unexpected 4-0 start. I am glad we made the SI cover this week and look forward to reading the article inside on the Broncos so I will take my chances with the SI cover jinx.  

deserves a nickname! How about the "immaculate deflection?" I also remember McCaffrey catching a deflection at Minnesota in 1996 to help set up a late 4th quarter win. Nothing like the feeling of depression going to crazy excitement as Stokely was going down the field. Wow! Offense has got to get a lot better and I think they will as the season goes on. Happy about the defense and special teams though. Orton had some drops but he missed some guys that were wide open, especially Stokely 1 time but Orton never looked his way but thankfully the defense's great effort today wasn't wasted. 

Happy Opening Sunday everyone! Finally time to kick the Josh McDaniels Era off (Will it wind up being the Josh McDaniels Era or Error?) and get all of your predictions before kickoff. I thought we would go 6-10 with a win today but I have changed my prediction to 5-11 with a loss today. I just don't think Orton can match the points Palmer will put up. My pick is Cincy-30 Broncos-20 but I hope I am wrong about today and the whole season but I think this is going to be a roungh ride for the Broncos and all us fans.

I asked this a few weeks ago and nobody new anything so I thought I would ask again. Does anybody know who Dave Logan's new broadcast partner will be? KOA is taking a long time to announce who will be broadcasting the Bronco games with Logan. The Broncos first pre-season game is only about 1 month away so we should know something soon I guess. Thanks for any information or opinions any of you post.

Does anyone know who Dave Logan's new broadcast partner will be since Diaz Infante won't be doing games this season? I read it would be someone who works at KOA on a regular basis to save money but I don't know if that person is already working at KOA or if it is someone who will be hired to work at KOA before the Broncos preseason games begin.

I watch all the Bronco games on tv but I also like to listen to KOA's broadcast of the games so I am looking forward to seeing who Dave's new partner is. Thanks for any input any of you can give me.

The Denver Post is reporting the Broncos have hired Matt Russell to be their Director of College Scouting. I like his resume and hopefully he will do a good job of keeping any current scouts that are good and hiring new scouts.

And I hope and pray he tells McDaniels and Xanders not to trade any more future #1 picks. Sorry, I just can't let that trade go but hiring Russell seems like a good move if he helped recommend the players the Patriots and Eagles drafted the last several years. Sure, the Patriots had some bad picks while he worked for them but overall they do a great job in drafting year in and year out and that is all anyone can ask for. For example, of the 10 players the Broncos picked this year I will be happy if 5 of them turn out to be good or great players and hopefully Russell will get a scouting staff together that can produce at least 4 or 5 quality players every year in the draft and produce a few superstars also. I think Moreno could be a superstar from our 2009 draft class!

Alex Marvez is reporting that the Broncos are trying to trade Jarvis Moss for a 7th round draft pick. Moss is officially one of Shanahan's worst defensive picks and it will be interesting to see if anyone gives up even a 7th round pick for him.

Also would like to know if Tim Crowder is on the trade block and if anyone would give up a late round pick for him in next year's draft. 

Still can't believe we traded our own 2010 1st rounder (it is our own 1st round pick in 2010 instead of the Bear's 1st round pick) to move up to get Alphonso Smith. I am sure Seattle jumped at that offer because the Broncos will probably have a 5-11 record or worse next season and Seattle will probably be picking in the top 10 of the 1st round next year thanks to the stupidity of McDaniels and Xanders. I am almost as sick at this move as I am over losing Culter. The Bears will have a good record next season so our only 1st round pick will probably be in the mid or late 20's. I have the scouting reports posted on MHR on Smith and he may turn out to be a great player (he better turn out to be great) but we gave up way to much to get him. Some people think we did great today (and I like some of our picks and hope we did do great) but I think losing our own 2010 1st rounder was one of the worst draft moves in Broncos history, especially if it turns out to be a top 10 pick and I think it will be. Hopefully some of you can respond to this and make me feel better because I hate the fact Seattle will probably be picking high in the 1st round next year because of this terrible trade.

Since the Broncos have 2 first round picks I was wondering how teams with multiple 1st round picks in the last 10 or 15 years have done? My guess without doing any research is teams with multiple 1st round picks have had mixed results. In other words, I am guessing that one pick turned out to be a good or great player and the other player was a bust so I am guessing that the Broncos will be doing good if just one of our 2 first round picks turns out to be a good or great player. Of course, I hope the players the Broncos pick at 12 and 18 both turn out to be great players but I think only one of them will turn out to be a great pick and one of them will be a bust. Can some of you out there do some research on this for me? If nobody can in the next few days I will try to make time to do it myself but I hope some of you can do this in the next few days. Thanks.  

Does anyone know if Adam Schefter is on vacation or something? He hasn't been on NFL Total Access or posted on his nfl.com blog for several weeks. I hope he is just on vacation and isn't having some kind of health problem or anything. Adam is my favorite NFL Insider and I miss reading his blog and seeing him on NFL Total Access. I hope some of you can shed some light on this for me. I am hoping he is just on vacation. Thanks.

OK, now I am getting worried. 9News in Denver is reporting that Cutler's other house is up for sale that his parents live in. Wonder if Jay is attending the event for Greek tonight and whether he will do any interviews if he is attending. I want to hear from Jay himself to see what he says about all these rumors.  Maybe Jay's parents were going to move out of the house anyway and go back to Indiana and hopefully Jay is planning on buying another house in the Denver area!!

What # do you think Marbury will wear? My guess is #30 since he already has 3 tattooed in his head. Hopefully, he won't be a cancer for us like he has been on other teams and is willing to fit in and contribute like he needs to and help us repeat!!  We need him to contribute quality minutes now with all the injuries we have and hopefully by playoff time he will be a big part of the bench and getting around 10 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds at point guard and shooting guard. I still think Pruitt could have performed this role if Doc had been playing him around 15 minutes a game all season but that is not happening so I hope Marbury works out for us.
