Seeing a lot of nervousness in the posts this week. Just want to remind everyone that, even if we were to lose tomorrow, there is still a lot of football left to play. I’m not so much concerned about SD as I am about our prognosis over the long term for the rest of the season. I want to see us bounce back and be physical again — SD is the right challenge at the right time to tell us where we are. But they aren’t going to walk away with the division by winning at our place tomorrow, either. We will still be right there challenging them.

Obviously, things will be much better for us if we win. Not only would we have another leg up on the division, we would reassert ourselves as a physical presence, which is what we need if we hope to make a late season run.

In a season when they began by underperforming their expectations, the Bolts could have thrown their hands up when we beat them in their hometown. They didn’t. Kudos to them for that. Because you’re not defeated until the math says you are.

In a season where we began by overperforming expectations, we are still in a good position to reassert ourselves in the coming weeks, regardless of tomorrow's outcome. Things would be different had we lost in SD. But we didn't, which makes things very interesting.

So celebrate a win tomorrow, but don't jump in front of a bus if we lose. We have a lot of football left to play. Let’s remember that.

Chiefs to release Larry Johnson

Not really a surprise given the loggerheads at which the parties found themselves after two years of malcontent behavior and the recent controversial tweets from LJ. But I'm breathing a sigh of relief that this man was never able to become one of the all time greats that he was projecting to be during his breakout season. The writing has been on the wall for this move since KC lost their stellar O line -- let's extend a hearty Mile High Salute to Chiefs for taking so long to end this tempestuous distraction! YEE HAW!

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!

Okay, this may not be so horrifying given the amazing start we're off to this year compared to where many of us thought we'd be, but consider this scenario.

One could argue that we may be on the verge of facing two of the toughest teams we'll see all year. I know there are prognostications both ways, and people are feeling good right now, and I don't want to rock the boat because what I'm about to suggest probably won't happen, BUT

What if we lose those two games? And the Dolts beat the Cassel-led Chefs, the playoff bound Faders (i hurt myself laughing whenever i say that), and (somehow) the G-men who I suspect are softer than most are giving them credit for. Are we suddenly in a dog fight again?

How good is that road victory in Sandy Eggo looking now? Good. But we have to repeat it at home in a few weeks if we want to secure our position as a true contender.

I'm confident we will. This team overlooks no one and is very hard to game plan for. I'm not trying to jinx the magic. All I'm saying is that before we get too drunk on all the SuperBowl contender talk, we should keep in mind that this is a week-by-week process and the landscape can change completely after just a few Any Given Sundays. We're gonna lose some football games. Things will get interesting. But we can have faith in these men. They've proved that.

Enjoy 6-0 this week. But stay diligent, Coach. Stay tough, Broncos. Stay passionate, fans.

Stay honest.

And DO YOUR JOB.
