It's just so random. At least to me. Bored at work, I was perusing the local Craigslist checking out golf clubs, tractors, broken pressure washers, etc. and I just decided to type in 'Orioles'. No, I do not live in High Point and I'm not trying to sucker any of you into purchasing this item. I'm close by, though, and am seriously thinking of getting it and giving it to my brother as a gag gift. Does Leo really manage the Iron Birds???

I hope some of you will take the time to check this out. I found it in my attic a while back when we were undergoing a massive clean-up/renovation. I wasn't even born yet (a year away), but I can totally picture my Dad and Granddad at the game. Living in NC we still made the trip to Memorial stadium every year for as long as I can remember.

I scanned this thing in just for the hell of it and had hopes that I could create a fancy viewable/scrollable internet file instead of a straight download, but the effort to scan in every page is enough at this point. Yeah, I'm lazy. I didn't even bother to make any edits.

I hope that you'll find it interesting and I'm sure a lot of you probably have similar stuff laying around. My Dad or Granddad kept score. The ads are also interesting. The gas-saving Nissan ad, for example, was intriguing.

Hard to believe that Reggie Jackson was on this team. That just seems crazy to me.

In 1976 the Orioles finished second in the American League East, 10 and a half games behind the Yankees. The O's won 88 games, but the damn Yankees won 97. While checking out baseball reference I also discovered that the Kansas City Royals won the West and won 90 games. Wow. Buck Martinez was on that team. Ha.

This was a pretty damn good Orioles team. I bet they were fun to watch.

Brooksie, the Crow, Bumbry, DeCinces, Jackson, May, Dempsey, Palmer, and effing Wayne Garland won 20 games.

So on and so forth. Thanks for allowing me to share. I love the Baltimore Orioles.

Thanks to duck et. al. for the hosting suggestion. If I messed up something and it doesn't work please let me know.

We've been going through a major attic overhaul in an effort to finish off the space and get organized. I was delighted to find these posters, which had been forgotten for some time.

I can't remember where the small poster came from, but the life size Cal was definitely a Camden Yards giveaway. The picture I took didn't turn out so well and doesn't do the poster's size justice. It also kinda looks like Cal is grabbing the Milk Monster fuzzbump, when he's actually leaning on a bat. Anyway, the poster is Cal's height, 6'4". I even laid it out on the floor and got up on a ladder to get the picture. I remember that it was supposed to be for younger kids (I was probably 15 or 16 at the time - maybe younger), but I got the folks at the gate to give me one anyway. These things brought up some fond O's memories so I just thought I'd share. Go O's!
