Tried to find this somewhere else in on the site, including the previous thread on Volquez, but was unsuccessful. So I am sorry if someone else has already announced the exact specifics. Not trying to steal anyone's thunder.

The deal is a one-year contract worth $1,625,000. Contract includes $50,000 in performance bonuses: $25,000 each for 24 and 28 starts.

Michigan St. dismissed Korie Lucious for the rest of the season for conduct detrimental to the program.

Lucious has been an explosive scorer at times in the past, but this season hasn't done much. Lucious averaged 6.5 points and 4.1 assists per game this season. Lucious had 6 points and 6 assists with 1 turn-over last week against Purdue.

Not sure entirely what it will do to Michigan State, but it does hurt their guard depth in what has already been a down year for the usually good Spartan teams under Tom Izzo.

Article is a recap of Rex Ryan's comments about playing the Colts in the first round of the playoffs this year.

Article points out that Manning is 5-1 in his career against Rex Ryan as a head coach with the New York Jets and as Defensive Cord. of the Baltimore Ravens. The 1 loss was last year in Week 16 when Manning did not play in the second half and the Colts allowed the Jets to come back and win, helping the Jets secure a playoff birth.

Stampede Blue Patriots are cheaters once again.

I was browsing the internet putting off more serious work this morning and came across this little nugget on espn.

It appears the Patriots have yet another cheater on their hands. Add it to the long list of players and coaches in an organization that seems to turn a blind eye towards cheating.

Make all the complaints that you wish about the Colts poor play this season or all the injuries, but it is nice we don't have to deal with this sort of stuff.

Red Reporter Griffey Retires

The best of a generation retires. Obviously, his best years were in Seattle and we will all remember the years of potential wasted due to injury and what might have been in Cincy. I always took pride in the arc of his career because it led me to believe he was not using any steroids like others of his generation that got bigger and stronger in their late thirties. First ballot hall of fame to follow in 5 years.

Need good details and recommendations on where to get a hotel and where to go out in Cincinnati for a good time.

Please help out a couple of Reds fans and fellow RedReporter followers.

Red Reporter Bronson does drugs..........anyone suprised?

Apparently Bronson Arroyo is admitting to using several PEDs including andro and amphetamines while a member of the Boston Red Sox. Bronson said he would not be suprised if he was on the positive 2003 test that David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez were just announced as a part of. I am not shocked by this new batch of positive test names anymore. Only man I still have faith in not using PEDs is Ken Griffey Jr. I hope I never here hear a negative about Jr,  either his Mariners or Reds days.

Red Reporter Ozzie Guillen thinks Cubs fans are stupid. I agree.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-29-cubs-britejun29,0,5303027.story

Looks like Ozzie is being Ozzie again.

After Cubs manager Lou Piniella pointed out the spike in attendance from 22,000 when the Dodgers faced the White Sox last week to a full house when the Cubs visited U.S. Cellular Field this weekend, Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was asked why attendance was so low for the Dodgers series.

"Because our fans are not stupid like Cubs fans," Guillen said. "They know we're [expletive]."

Guillen said Cubs fans will watch any game at Wrigley Field because "Wrigley Field is just a bar."
