Dawgs By Nature Season in Review Part 3: The O-Line God and Co.

Since Emily hasn't put up her WR season in review, I figured I would go with the O-line. So Today's edition will talk about our God Joe Thomas and his teammates on the O-line.  First let’s start out with the best LT in the world, Joe Thomas.

Dawgs By Nature Season in Review Part 2: RB (Part two: Peyton Hillis BEAST)

In my last post I looked at the depth we had at running back this past season. Now let's look at the stud we all know and love, The Juggernaut Peyton Hillis himself.

Dawgs By Nature Season in Review Part 2: Running back (Part 1: the depth)

Sorry it took so long to write this post, I had a ridiculously busy week. In this portion of the season in review we'll look at the consistent strength of our team this year: Peyton Hillis and the Running back position. We had 5 people play running back for us this year: Jerome Harrison, Mike Bell, James Davis, Montario Hardesty and of course the Great White Buffalo himself. Peyton Hillis.

Dawgs By Nature Season in Review Part 1: QB (Part 1) the 3-Ring Circus

Emily and I been thinking about doing a 2010 season in review going position to position. I think it will be a good look back at the Cleveland Browns season. Today I'll be starting with the Browns' 3-ring circus known as the QB position.

Dawgs By Nature Draft Profile: Jerrel Jernigan

We all know that the Browns are in need of a deep threat, pass catching receiver. Jerrel Jernigan is one of the more interesting prospects on the board. he is a receiver for Troy and is considered a good second round WR, why he is considered the third best prospect right now. He is 5-9 190 lbs, and runs a 40 of 4:35

   Strengths:

  • Blazing speed with tremendous hands
  • Explosive after the catch
  • Consistently catches the ball away from his body
  • Great burst off the line, great burst in and out of his cuts
  • Accelerates to full speed quickly
  • Runs crisp routes
  • Good leaping ability and body control, adjusts well to the ball in the air
  • Willing to catch passes in traffic
  • Elusive in the open field
  • Can play outside or in the slot, and can contribute right away as a return man
  • Can also line up in the backfield as either a running back or wildcat quarterback

Weaknesses:

  • A little undersized
  • May have trouble with physical corners in the NFL
  • Although he's willing, he's not a good blocker because of his size.
overall he seems to be a good second round option for us. EWven though he is small he can always get separation, and most of the DBs in the AFC north are'nt that tall. I think he could be a good pick to give McCoy a new toy to play with.

Dawgs By Nature A Rant of Blind Youthful Optimism

After all of the long winded discussions we've had over how good or bad the Browns are, lets take a retrospective look at the year:

Game 1: Browns lose to Tampa because of a bad throw by Jake Delhomme. Tampa ends up being involved in draft talks.

Game 2: Browns lose to KC because of a bad throw by Seneca Wallace. KC ends up winning AFC West.

Game 3: Browns lose to the Ratbirds because Eric Wright gets burned for three TDs. Ratbirds make it to playoffs.

Game 4: Browns beat the Bungles. Peyton Hillis becomes the stud we all know and love.

Game 5: Browns lose to the Falcons because Wallace got hurt and Delhomme throws another bad pick 6. Gets hurrt again in the process.

Game 6: Browns lose to Shittsburg but they play admirably. Colt shows up and becomes our starter.

Game 7: Browns destroy the defending champs New Orleans. Led by a great defensive effort by Fujita and Bowens.

Game 8: Browns beat down the best team in football Patriots. Great game on all sides of the ball.

Game 9: Browns lose OT heart-breaker to the Jets thanks to an inopportune fumble by Stuckey.

Game 10: Browns lose heart-breaker to Jaguars. D shows up great but Colt gets hurt so we can't turn the turnovers into points.

Game 11: Browns beat Panthers thanks to a shanked field goal. Win in spite of Delhomme's terrible picks.

Game 12: Browns upset Miami. Win thanks to good defensive play by Haden.

After this you know the story. We lose three straight because of a tired old D, a beat-up hillis, and bad QB play. Colt has his one bad game at QB, and Delhomme shows everybody that he is done.

Now then, lets see the optimism in this little spiel. The Browns become competitive in all games, we get to meet our QBOTF, we have a studly secondary, and Mangini shows us all the makings of a good team, and a good coach. I swear that all we need is a new OC, some more star-power at WR, a new RT, and a good pass rusher and we will have a team that can beat anybody.

Tell me if everybody else agrees with this optimistic rant.

This guy is unbelievable. I can't wait to see Boss Ward totally destroy him. You're going to have a rough homecomming Braylon, and we're going to enjoy every minute of it.

I think that the Browns aren't just a mistake by the lake anymore.

Read this article. It does my heart good to see Braylon get lectured by others.
