I think s a good time to start a petition outlining our expectations, and ultimately why DG and CRN are epically failing the entire Bruin Nation. ... Unfortunately, I don't know the best way to do a petition. But if the admins started one, I would sign it, share it, and I'm sure it would hit a critical mass of signatures

Bruins Nation Looking at just one game.

I'm sorry, but was anybody expecting a drastically different outcome against a genuine top-10 team and all-world QB in Andrew Luck? Because I was. I was expecting our team to come out and get blown to smithereens by the Furd, and look awful doing it. But this was the one game where our team exceeded my eye-test expectations (short of the stupid TOs by our team - which I was fully expecting).

Let me be clear - I am NOT defending RN here. I have already conceded to myself that at this point, he's most likely not our guy, that he doesn't show the gumption, resolve, and strategic thinking of an excellent leader, and that we would be better off moving forward with someone else. But let's analyze just this one game after the jump (I've always wanted to do that):

All is not lost.

"At least we haven't done anything to ban ourselves from getting any type of exposure in bowl games, or scholarships taken away. At least we're doing the right thing."

"Anybody can cheat and go to BCS bowls and go 14-0 [while] the coach skips town. Anybody can do that. It's doing it the right way that counts."

On the WWL LA SportsCenter last night.

"This is going to sound cheesy, but I'm going to say it anyway: He's just a regular college kid."

I love how stupid this article has been exposed to be in light of recent events.

per WWL.

$uc surprisingly picks up a scholarship player from another school, but there's a minor detail about Collier:

"Collier was dismissed from the Miami football team earlier this month for violating team rules, according to the Palm Beach Post. He did not participate in Miami's spring game."

Of course this is the guy that Lame hones in on. A player who was dismissed by Miami.
I admit sanctions, part I was wildly entertaining for me. Who knew that they were gearing up for a sequel over at $uc?

"The USC Trojans have released linebacker Glen Stanley from his signed letter of intent.

The Trojans had reportedly refused to grant Stanley the release upon his first request last month, with first-year coach Lane Kiffin telling reporters he expected him in fall camp once he had taken care of everything. But Stanley, a product of Eastern Arizona J.C., filed an appeal and hired an attorney, evidently changing the Trojans' stance on the topic."

It's like the Titanic... water keeps pouring in, but they'll remain in denial as long as they can about the state of their program...

UPDATE: Looks like Glen Stanley was already on our list of Traveler's droppings. This report from WWL states that $c finally released Stanley's LOI yesterday, 7/28.

Here's a gem:

$c's strength and conditioning coach from the Carroll era:

"I want people to know that I'm walking away, not running," Carlisle said in a statement released by USC.

...running from what, I wonder?

This is a pretty scathing article for a mainstream sports site on Lame's cowardice fleeing from TN

Buying tickets at the Rose Bowl

Does anyone know what the procedures are for buying tickets at the Rose Bowl on the day of the game? I'm thinking of going to the UCLA-UW game this weekend, but have no time to buy tickets at CTO.

Bruins Nation Kevin Love Shatters the Backboard!

I just found this gem on youtube, and I don't think I've ever seen this before on BN. It's Kevin Love throwing it down for a SICK dunk following a steal, and throwing down the rim and backboard as well. I especially enjoy his expression right after the dunk - I can imagine him just thinking, "whoa."

Looks like this took place at Putnam HS exactly one year ago. January 12th is a good day for Kevin Love. Awesome victory vs. WSU today! Hopefully the NCAA will drop the hammer on bushgate soon and we demolish the trOJans next week. Before the season began, I knew deep down that OJ Mayo's arrival wouldn't make much of an impact for suc. It's just a gut feeling I have... UCLA's performance exudes substance, while suc always seems to be hanging on by a thread.

And sadly, the Jags lost today. I only mention this because I still haven't reached the 200 words required for a post. Man, the Patriots just seem to be able to move the ball down at will.

The Lakers are also doing surprising well this season. I'm glad Trevor Ariza came back home to LA. I sure hope Boston doesn't pull off a Red Socks - Celtics - Patriots Triple Championship this year...

GO BRUINS!

Bruins Nation Bruins Nation. Congratulations.

We have been waiting and fighting for nearly four years now. Urging on our fellow bruins to see kd for who he really is - a nincompoop of a coach.

Serious HT to Nestor & other Trojan killing Greek generals & kings, 66, Fox, Bruincore, and the entirety of the Bruins Nation that have been fighting for what everyone else is finally only beginning to see. I've been trying to convince everyone I meet that Karl Dorrell, head coach, is the antithesis of the very essence of UCLA. And now there is no more convincing to be done. Some very promising news from the fishwrap.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HARD WORK.
Now all that's left is to pick up a real coach.
This news really takes any of the sting away from this weekend. completely.

GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. GO BRUINS. Bruins Nation Yahoo! Exclusive: Reggie Bush Investigation

Yahoo! Sports is now my new favorite source for sports online (whereas ESPN and LA Times, I don't even bother to glance at anymore - look all over BN to see some reasons why).

Yahoo! has made a formal web page dedicated to the investigation on Bushgate, which until now the rest of the MSM has failed to follow up on or investigate themselves:

While the rest of the national media was having frenzied spasms over Southern Cal's 04-06 pseudo-professional team, Yahoo! Sports was the only large news source that saw past all of $$c's hype and maintained accountability on the program. Now the machinations of the Bushgate scandal are becoming exposed to a point where the MSM and the rest of the nation can no longer look the other way.

Yahoo!'s investigation also mentions that the responsibility of Bushgate may not lie solely on Bush, but also with the university. The permittance of known sports agents to mix and mingle with the athletes on the field and in the locker rooms places liability on the "university" itself for lack of institutional control.

I know that BN has been following this story for awhile, and we have been demanding accountability throughout, while being accused of sounding like embittered, irrational whiners who focus more on hating $uc than Bruins athletics. On the contrary, Southern Cal is not the center of the BN universe, and now that the trojan beans are being spilled all over the place, BN's demands for accountability is proving to not just be baseless vitriol after all. There will be some major fallout at USC in the days to come.

Let there be light.
