D’Qwell Jackson and the linebacker hole
Everyone is talking about the receiver options of free agency, but what about outside backer. I am a big fan of D’Qwell Jackson, Since being drafted he has been a stellar NFL talent. D’Qwell has put up the numbers and been nothing short of a beast for the Browns. I know he is an inside backer but he is versatile enough to play the outside as well. His last two seasons he has been out of duty which gives us a chance to sign this guy at a great value. I wouldn't think a team would let go a guy like this but they aren't offering him the long term deal he is looking for.
This is just a guy Im pretty high on, what other options could you see because in my eyes we really only have one solid guy in the linebacking corp.
No worries all, I talked to Dick Vermeil Yesterday
Dick Vermeil came to Penn State last night to give a leadership speech. After the speech they opened it up to questions; I asked him about the Marshall Faulk trade before the 99' season and he went on to tell me his relationship with Jim Mora and the ease of the trade. He then stated that he has seen Bradford work out and if he was still in the Rams organization he would take Bradford hands down. If Bradford is good enough for Dick Vermeil than he is good enough for me.
Donnie Avery
I blame Avery for the loss. Clear and simple, he didnt step up and make any plays. Donnie's game was filled with not being able to get separation, a fumble, and dropped passes. We needed him to step up this year and it just isnt happening. We talk about benching incognito but at least he is playing decently when not getting penalties. Besides avery's antics the rams had amazing red zone defense and the offense scored points so I was pumped.
